How To Style a Bomber Jacket

It’s Day 11 of my 27 Days of Spring Fashion! Today I’m styling a bomber jacket that would be great for a casual date night outfit. The bomber jacket is definitely the spring “it” jacket right now and it’s the perfect layering piece for cool spring days.

My bomber jacket is from New York and Company, it’s lightweight and has a lace overlay on the front giving it a feminine touch. It’s also 60% off!

Keeping my look casual, I’m wearing distressed jeans with a pair of lace up heels. If you don’t like wearing a heel, I think these mules would look adorable with this outfit and they have great reviews.

  1. Hi Cyndi, I apologize for the late question. You styled the black lace up, block heels from Target with skinny jeans. Would you wear these shoes with certain dresses – maybe a trapeze/swing dress and a chunky necklace…or no?
    Thanks!

  2. Love this look, as usual Cyndi! Was a afraid of bomber jackets before this post. They seems a little bland and even masculine sometimes, though I loved the overall style. The lace on this one makes it so much more feminine and edgy. I will definitely toss this one in the cart. Thanks again!

    1. I love this Bomber jacket too!! I am new here, I have been reading Cyndi’s blog for a few months and I love it! How do I post a response on here, I can only reply to other ladies posts.

  3. I love this outfit, your choice is so put together and I must say you are looking
even more radiant these days or more at peace!!
Have a blessed week and thank you for all the hard work you do for us
and always look forward to the scripture of the day, I need His word everyday!!

  4. Am I the last one to know suede is an all season shoe now? I’m seeing lots of spring and summer shoes in suede and having a wee bit of trouble with it..still getting used to white after Labor Day…I do like it and it’s super comfortable.

  5. I bought this jacket a couple weeks ago when you “sneak peeked” it on Instagram …. and I LOVE it! Just need the weather to warm up so I can actually wear it!

  6. Absolutely love the black and white with the jeans. Especially love the shoes. You look great!

FYI for anybody who wanted to get the Lush cross front blouse from your March 9 post–the navy floral color is now available online at Nordstrom, and I think they may have added another color or two on top of what was there before.

  7. Love this look. Love the lace on the bomber jacket. I’ve seen the jackets out and really liked one in the blush and wish I would have purchased it. It was in an inexpensive store and I was concerned how it would hold up and it said, Dry Clean Only on it so put it back. Glad to see one styled. So cute.

  8. I saw this look a couple weeks ago Cyndi, when you showed a sneak peek, maybe on Instagram? I went online right away and the size small has been sold out for a few weeks now, and the only two sizes available are M and XL. Just an FYI. Keep showing your great outfits! I love them! 🙂

  9. I like this look on you Cyndi, especially with the heels, it gives it a nice edge. I would probably go for a bomber with a pattern on the top – I have been looking, but want to make sure it will work with other items that I have. I am a pear shape, so like to keep some interest up top!

  10. Very cute outfit and I’m seeing the bomber jackets everywhere in all prints but again, wasn’t sure if it was age appropriate, but now I know it’s save to wear. 😊

  11. Cyndi, You are definitely rocking it, in this outfit! I need to quickly find something like a bomber jacket to wear during Larry’s 3 week stay in the hospital for the autologous stem cell transplant. I want a nice, but very casual long sleeve jacket since his room may be chilly. Good luck at the dentist! I hate going to the dentist.

  12. Love that outfit – so edgy and cute! I use to wear my hair in a shag (both long & short) and love those kinds of sweet & edgy rock & roll vibe looks. My hair stylist eventually took my hair to less layers and more a bob with a messy flip & flare look which I like a lot but the shag is such a cool hair style. The shoes are great too. Hope your dentist trip is painless!

  13. Just bought a very similar black bomber jacket at Marshalls! It was designer w/$99.00 price tag, and I got it for $24.99. That’s why I live Marshall’s!

  14. I think it would be helpful on some posts to give a little more explanation of what the item is. Like what makes a “bomber jacket” a bomber jacket? Or what certain details are. Everyone knows what lace is, but what is a peplum, or other uncommon term? I would have called this a baseball jacket …a term from high school…a LONG time ago 🙂

Anyway, I’ve been following you for quite a while now, and gets lots of ideas, whether I know what to call them or not! Thanks1

  15. Can’t go wrong with black and white – two of my favorites! ‘this is a fun weekend look – and I’m heading to Target to check out those shoes :).

  16. Ooh…I wasn’t too happy to see the bomber jacs showing up everywhere. I’m a little tush heavy and was worried it the back will ride on my “shelf”…

BUT(T)…I think the white tee you chose would solve my problem. I like how the scoop hem hangs just below where the jacket ends.

I think you just saved this look for me! Yay!
