Stripe Top With Bootcut Jeans

Today I’m teaming up with Nordstrom to share another pair of jeans and because so many of you asked, I’m styling a pair of bootcut jeans.

Nordstrom has a great selection of bootcut jeans. I ordered several pair and finally decided on these KUT from the Kloth jeans.

Bootcut jeans are stylish and universally flattering to women of all body types. This jean style is straight through the thigh, and kicks out just below the knee to create a gently widened hem.

If I were wearing booties I would want the back hem to almost graze the ground but with espadrilles I think this length works.

These bootcut jeans are a mid-rise jean with some fading and whiskering to add a well-worn appeal to the dark-blue wash. They also have plain back pockets which is a plus if you don’t want to accentuate that area.

I love vertical stripes and this Lush top works well with bootcut jeans. I tied the front in a knot so you could see my jeans but the top also looks cute untied.

I get asked a lot about how comfortable is an off the shoulder top? Mine are typically comfortable because I let them sit at the top of my shoulders. I don’t pull the top way down. I’m personally not a fan of off the shoulder tops that are pulled down where you can see your arm pits. #justmyopinion

I added a leopard print clutch to my outfit. This clutch is no longer available but I linked a couple of options below at different price points.

You can check out all of Nordstrom’s jeans here. They have a wide selection of skinny, bootcut, flair, boyfriend etc.

What is your favorite style of jean?

Beauty For the Heart~~But here is how God has shown his love for us. While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8

I don’t spend time in God’s word to check it off my to do list. I spend time in His word because I need it, it is life to my soul. I refuse to stay the way I was yesterday or the way I am today. I want to be more like Christ everyday.

Have a blessed day!

  1. LOVE this outfit. The shirt is adorable and the jeans are so slimming.
I ordered the shirt but not sure it will look as cute on me.

I have seen a lot of blue shoes/sandals this spring.

Could you style a pair for us?

I would love to see them styled!

  2. Cyndi , I love this outfit , still praying for you guys and I think you should go where the Lord leads you
    Bless both of you !!!!
    Diana

  3. Again, praying the best what ever He has ahead for you!!
And personally I think the flares look best for your
body type, you look so slim and feminine!!

  4. I have two bootcut pairs, one I found at a thrift shop for $6, the inside tag says they’re from Cato’s, but they fit me perfectly and aren’t sliding down all the time! I work in a kindergarten room so I’m on the floor all the time. and these don’t give me any more aggravation than I already have!! LOL! Some days, I just feel my patience meter may be a bit thin, so I more than likely will wear this pair to work that day, just to save myself some stress! HA!

Cyndi, you look great in everything, but these are the perfect pair of bootcuts for you and that top is adorable!

  5. I have been feeling such anxiety since your announcement, my husband and I have experienced times like this and they have drawn me so much closer to Him. I am praying for you, dear sister, I know blessings are in store!

  6. I love this whole outfit! You never cease to wet my appetite for another purchase, lol! I must have missed about your resignation from your church…I hope all is well for you tho! Blessings as always!

  7. Thank you for styling this outfit. I prefer to wear bootcut jeans to work on casual Fridays because I feel like they’re a little more conservative (especially when I see how tight some skinny jeans are).

  8. Cyndi,
Thanks for styling bootcut jeans. I think your pictures really show how bootcut can make your legs looks long and lean! That shirt is adorable and I like how you wear it higher up on your shoulders. Have you found a comfortable strapless bra????
    Blessings,
    Gigi

  9. I look at your blog 5 days a week. Usually not on weekends, but I never get the info that everybody talks about. I get your cute pics with outfits, but I guess I’m missing out somewhere. I always feel lost when some are talking about things that are going on, and I wonder where did they read that??? Anyway, I’m gathering that you guys are moving on from the ministry??? I was a minister’s wife for ten yrs. I pray you both find what makes you happy…God Bless your endeavors, Melesa

      1. I am curious about the resignation also. it was my (here is that awkward word)ASSUMPTION that what you were resigning from was the ministry not the church. am/was I incorrect ?

  10. Those jeans are a great fit on you and look amazing. I seem to have more trouble finding bootcut petite jeans so I stick to skinny, but do like that with a wedge, they give me a longer look.

    1. Yes, bootcut shorter length is hard to find but better than years ago when they were all way too long! I’m always on the look out too!

  11. You look great in this outfit as usual, but my eye still goes for skinny jeans right now. I was wondering if you see many wearing bootcut where you live? I live about an hour from Portland Oregon, and about an hour from the coast and I don’t see many wearing them, even though the stores carry them. So, I only wear skinny or I have some straight jeans I can cuff if I want the boy friend jean look with slip on flat tennishoes or leave them down with flats. I saved my bootcut jeans I had when they really were in and no skinnies around yet, as I knew someday they’d be back. 🙂 I know you styled them today, but will you wear them? They do look great on you. I think the key for me is to not have too much of a flair at the bottom. I don’t like flare jeans at all. I remember last year you styled a baby boot from GAP and those really looked great on you……less flare to them. Love the top you paired with them with the tie in front. I looked at it on the website and it doesn’t even look the same…..you make it look so much cuter. I wouldn’t have even given it a second look if I hadn’t seen it on you. : Great job. I was wondering if you and Wayne will still attend the church he was pastoring? Did Courtney and her family go there? Will they stay? Wish you both the best on your new adventure. 🙂 God is Good.

  12. I appreciated to question regarding what bra you wear with your off the shoulder tops – I have never purchased a strapless bra and am a 32G ..any suggestions?

  13. The whole outfit is adorable Cindi! The way you’ve styled this off shoulder top is modest and tasteful for ladies our age. In fact I think off shoulder tops that sit just slightly off the shoulder look best for any age woman. I love the bootcut jeans with this look! Here again, just my opinion, but I think a bootcut jean looks more feminine and really balances out an outfit, especially with the ruffly and floral tops that are in style right now! You are very classy Cindi and always look so youthful and beautiful!

  14. Did not know you resigned your church!Praying for Gods direction for you! Did you ever think of writing a book compiling all your beauty for the heart devotions? Love your outfit today I am devoted to skinny jeans but I really like how the flares make your legs look extra long!

  15. Perfect outfit, Cyndi! The top is cute and the jeans are a great fit.
I just wanted to wish you both all the best in your upcoming ventures. Changes are always a little scary but that’s how we grow.

  16. I just love this outfit on you! Also those bootcut jeans looks AMAZING on your figure and I like them so much better than the skinny jeans – they really give you very flattering curves.

    1. I love your blog and I have followed it since it began. I was born in Cuba and was very pleased when you visited the island to help the people, not to be a tourist. However, I am very troubled with your partnering with Nordstrom. Regardless of your politics, what Nordstrom did to Ivanka Trump does not go hand in hand with Christian principles. Stores have no business getting involved in politics. Just wanted to let you know how this legal immigrant, an American citizen, feels about your partnering with Nordstrom. I hope you answer this comment and let me know how you feel.

  17. Love, love, love the boot cut jeans on you!! Makes you look slimmer! Good luck and best wishes on your and Wayne’s new quest! I have a feeling God has something planned for you two, it is a joy to read your blog everyday. You are one special lady, I know there is so much involved in what you do everyday, it is truly a labor of love to share with all of us daily. And I for one, truly enjoy it! I have learned so much from you, spiritually and fashionably! Thank you for all you do!

  18. Thank you! These look so cute, I may have to get some. I’ve opted for straight leg jeans to get a little closers to the skinny look, but now I think boot cut may be what I need instead.

  19. such a cute outfit!!! I love your top and wish wish wish i could wear that style!!! I have boot cut jeans, and love them. They balance out my wide, football player sholders!! LOL Many prayers for your new opened door, Can’t wait to hear what God has in store for you and your family next!!!!

    1. Dumb question here, but what is the difference between bootcut and flare jeans? These bootcut jeans look like they flare. Someday I will figure all these types out!

  20. I purchased some in Old Navy that were bootcut over a year ago when I was in there with my daughter. I have loved them ever since and bought more. In the winter I pair my shorter tops & sweaters with them and with a tall heel bootie and it gives me the illusion of extra height & slimness. Don’t we love that! I usually let mine hang almost to floor. In the summer, I wear the crop jeans mostly……..too hot for all that fabric. I love the way you styled yours for hotter weather. I love the vertical style top that is shorter. Its crazy we have to have so many styles of jeans for different tops . I wear my straight leg ones with most everything but skinny & bootcut look best with certain tops I am sure you agree. You look great in your outfit!

  21. I love this outfit! I’m a bootcut jean wearer because I’m “hippy” and so I feel that with that extra bit at the bottom of the leg it helps to bring some balance, where skinny jeans just make me look hippier 😀

  22. Being petite (almost 5’2″), I’ve always loved boot cut jeans with heels because that look elongates the leg, giving me some much-needed height! I do love my KUT from the Kloth Skinny jeans, however. It seems no matter which style I choose, the KUT jeans are always a great fit.

The boot cut jeans look great on you, Cyndi!

    Have a great day!

  23. Thank-you! I love boot cut jeans & you look adorable! Can you style them with flats next time, since I have a harder time with that?

  24. I’ve been on vacation, so I’m out of the loop …since you’ve resigned from your church, will you be moving or transferring to another church? Retirement? Best wishes on the next leg of your journey!

    1. I must be out of the loop too….I didn’t know they’d resigned from their church or what the new plan is. I hope Cindi or someone clears up the confusion on my part.

      1. I had missed this post as well, Cyndi. (weekends I don’t read blogs a lot) Anyway, WOW…thanks for redirecting those of us who missed the “announcement”. I’m sure it is a very scary and exciting time for you and Wayne. Won’t it be something if what you started right here is what God is calling y’all to both do full time. Congratulations and best wishes as you walk by faith and not by sight.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jer 29:11

  25. I like boot cut jeans, and I have a couple of pair that I love wearing. I don’t have a “bigger backside” but for those who do I think boot cut balances the body out. I have a pair of straight leg Kut from the Kloth jeans and they are one of my most favorite ones to wear – so comfortable!

  26. Love this outfit, the jeans are so slenderizing and I adore the OTS top, I wear this style a good bit! This outfit looks GREAT on you! Have a wonderful afternoon!!😊
