Happy Mother’s Day

Happy Mother’s Day! We made it home from Florida and it felt good to sleep in my own bed last night. It’s fun to get away but there really is no place like home.

Happy Mother's Day

With that being said, I’ll be packing most of the day because I have another trip to Florida and I fly out tomorrow morning at 5:45 am!

Before I start packing, we are headed to church. I’m pretty excited about today because we are going to join (or become members)  of our church. (I know each denomination is different but at our church you can become a member which means you are committing to serve and be an active member of that particular church.)

The church we attend is the church my Mom and Dad attended before my Mom passed away. She loved her church! She served faithfully in so many areas including working with the homeless ministry and teaching discipleship classes.

It seems fitting that today, on Mother’s Day, we are going to become members. Mom was passionate about the church and she wanted her children to be involved in kingdom work.

Of course, this is a different season for us with Wayne not being the pastor but it’s a season we are enjoying. We still believe God has a plan and we continue to pray for His direction.

On another note, I know many of you are spending your first Mother’s Day without your Mom. I am praying for you. I am praying for all of us that have lost our Moms. It’s still a little difficult for me even though my Mom has been gone 7 years. I miss her so much!!

My prayer is that whatever this life brings that I will praise His Name! He is worthy!

Have a blessed Sunday!

  1. This is a really touching post, Cindy! I pray for all of you that can’t share the Mother’s Day with your moms, In my particular case I still got my mom with me, but I can’t stop thinking in the day she is not going to be here anymore, and that just makes me so sad…I guess that all I have to do is to celebrate her and share my life with her, she deserves just everything in this world and I am so happy I can see her every single day! For Mother’s Day I took her to Las Vegas haha and she enjoyed some Margaritas 😉
I hope you had the most meaningful and lovely Mother’s Day with your loved ones and your church

  2. Thanks Cyndi as always for sharing. I know you miss your mom but she is with you I can tell. I lost my dad almost 19 years ago in a tragic accident….fall from a ladder and now I am loosing my mom from dementia. She’s getting worse and not the same and we are moving her soon to assisted living, which is a hard process to come. We’ve done it with my husbands mom, so I know what we are in for. God is good and has gone before me to help, so now I have a peace. Someday she won’t know me, so trying to cherish the time with her now. Bless you and enjoy your next trip away. Happy late Mother’s Day to you.

  3. Thank you Cyndi for your kind words to all of us that have lost their moms. This is indeed my first Mother’s Day with out my mom. It will be a year on May 19 that we lost her and today has been pretty rough. She & I were very close, I was her baby girl, the youngest out of 5 boys. Happy Mother’s Day to you and safe travels tomorrow.

  4. My mom has been gone 7 years also and I still deeply miss her. I woke up this morning with tears for her but also so many happy memories. I know I will see her again some day as the lord has promised. Blessings to you today, Cyndi.
Also, I am excited to see your J. Jill selections. I shop there occasionally and like the quality.

  5. Wishing you and all the ladies here a very happy Mother’s Day. So grateful for the years I had with my mom, and even though I miss her dearly, I rest assured that in heaven we will be together again. Today I’m going to ❤️ on my children 😘

  6. Have a blessed Mother’s Day Cyndi! I cant wait to hear about yours & Jo-Lynne’s trip to FL this week!

  7. Happy Mothers Day! Is the church that you are joining the same one that he was pastor at? My mom passed away five years ago at a ripe old age but still miss her. I really miss her on my birthday when she would call early in the morning because she wanted to be the first one to wish me happy birthday. Still miss her voice.

  8. This is my first mothers day without my mom. She passed just two weeks ago. I’m trying to focus on my own kids but it is bittersweet.

    1. So sorry to hear about your mom. I hope you had a good day with your kids as you honored your mom as well.

  9. This has been a hard week for me anticipating the first Mother’s Day without my mom. I’m trying but feeling like I’m failing my daughter her senior year and not being available enough for her. Praying for grace for all of us to be half the blessing our mothers were to us.

    1. I have found a wonderful website for moms. Its called momlifetoday.com It has lots of encouraging words and blogs for every season of a moms life. My youngest child is about to graduate this year and I’ve had so many mixed feelings. There are several great articles dealing with just what you said. Try it out and see if it has anything that give you encouragement.

  10. Cyndi, HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!!!! Prayers for safe traveling for you and Jo-Lynne , Hope you have a great day !!!!

  14. Happy Mother’s Day! I know how hard it is to not have your mom around on this special day but know she is forever with you and must be singing with the angels as you join your new church.

  15. Happy Mother’s Day to you also. What is instastories ? How is it different from Instagram? I have noticed JoLynne mention Instastories also.

  16. Happy Mother’s Day Cyndi! So many of our moms are having a glorious day in heaven, one day we will all be together praising Him.
