He Will

I’ve had a busy few weeks but in the midst of my busy, there have been some families in our town that have suffered extreme loss, a friend has been diagnosed with cancer and I have another friend dealing with fear and anxiety.

It’s not a secret to any of us that life can be difficult. We have seasons of joy but we also have seasons of pain and suffering.

Sometimes the things in this world can wear us down. Anyone feeling a little weary? Do you need rest?

Scripture reminds us in Matthew 11:28, Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.

There is someone who we can give our burdens to, someone who can help us when we are weary. He can give us rest. His name is Jesus and he says, come to me.

I love the words to this song by Ellie Holcomb. Our God promises His children He Will!

Heaven came and kissed the earth
Prophets long ago foretold his birth
He became the living Word
To show the human heart its worth, oh-oh-oh-ohh

Whether I’m in want or plenty
Whether I’m in health or ill
Our God promises His children
He will, He will

He’ll bind up the brokenhearted
Oh He will, oh He will
He’ll set captives free from darkness
Oh He will, oh He will
He’ll breathe hope into the hopeless
Help a restless soul be still
Oh-ohh, oh-ohh
He will, He will

He came to walk in truth and grace
Man of sorrows entered all our pain
On the cross, He took our place
Then He rose up out of the gra-a-ave

Have a blessed Sunday!

  1. Thanks for the scripture. I am so weary. Friday took my mom’s DL away and moving her to assisted living on this Saturday after being in her present home 45 years. But, the worst is yesterday….Sunday our dear friends just lost their son. The grief for them is too hard to bare. Please pray for them. My heart is broke for them and its so overwhelming….. all of this.

  2. God always touches your heart with the right words to share with us. We all need to be reminded that God will carry our burdens. It always seems that we all are going through the same things together and good to know that God is with us but that I have sisters in christ who are right here w me. Thanks

  3. Oh yes… my word for this year is “Abide”… or “rest & be still “… it’s very difficult because of what all is going on in my (my family’s) life right now, but I must! Last weekend I downloaded Ellie Holcomb’s new album, Red Sea Road… and Rita Springer’s new album, Battles. These songs are really ministering to my heart right now. All of them!
PS… if you all will keep us in your prayers; my youngest son deploys to South Korea on June 24 and my oldest son’s sentencing trial is scheduled for July 6-7. Thanks…

  4. Hugs to your friends! You are probably tired too from all your traveling and just keeping up with life! God will carry us through….HE WILL!

  5. This is beautiful – Thank you Cyndi! and I really needed this today. My daughter was involved in a multi-car wreck on Friday, her car was totaled, she’s married, working full time, in her last session of college, and really cannot afford to take on a car payment right now. We all know this is just a bump in the road, as we all experience in life, but it is just added stress for her and her husband. Our church service this weekend started a series on our foundation – building a strong foundation so that when the trials of life come we are able to withstand. I think God is telling us this will all be okay because our foundations are solid in Him. Interesting too that your message is similar. Be blessed my internet friend!

  6. Thank you. I work for an elementary school. The last two weeks of school can be very stressful. I’ve been feeling tired and a little defeated. Thank you for the reminder.

  7. Thank you sharing this. Life can be hard sometimes. I choose to believe that He will!! No matter how things appear I will choose to trust Him.

  8. Thank you for your encouraging message. I have been dealing with dizziness and unbalance for 5 years and I am so worn out and discouraged. I am seeing a new doctor and physical therapist so I pray that God can use them to offer me some relief. I needed to hear your message today. Thank you.

  9. some days the news is always negative and this week end has been no exception. so. this message was really a welcome one. hsb and I reminded ourselves of the many closed doors during our homeless ministry days and how there was ALWAYS a more desirable and productive door opening by HIM. What a solace that reminder brought to us and those who brought the negative news to us. Praise the Lord.
