Summer Floral Blouse with Wide Leg Trousers

It’s Thursday ladies, where has this week gone? I don’t know about you, but I’m ready for the weekend!

One of the things I love to do around here is sharing the latest trends and show how to wear them especially as women over 40. Wide leg trousers are definitely on trend, and I think they’re a great piece to add to your summer workwear wardrobe.

Now every time I share a workwear outfit, I get comments that they’re too casual so this is a dressier look. I was a dental hygienist by profession, so I wore scrubs before I started blogging full-time. The women that worked in the front office area dressed casual, and this outfit would be appropriate.

Summer Floral Blouse with Wide Leg TrousersThese textured wide leg trousers are a pull-on style pant with an elasticized waist. Yes!

Summer Floral Blouse with Wide Leg TrousersAdd some fun to your outfit with this ruched sleeve blouse. It comes in several different patterns.

I’m so honored that you have taken time out of your day to stop by my blog. I’m also on FacebookPinterest, and my favorite one, Instagram.

Beauty For the Heart~~Getting dressed is something we do every day. It’s a part of our daily routine. I love what Isaiah 61:3 says about what we should put on, “a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.”

Today add praise to your daily routine. Write down your praises if you need to, and when your day gets rough, look back over them. There is always a reason to praise God!

Have a blessed day!

  1. My post are still too light to read! The highlight….does not show up….and the writing is too light. bUT IT IS LARGER PRINT NOW. JUST WANTED TO GIVE YOU FEEDBACK.

Love the outfit….wide pants are adoreable!!

  2. Please add me to your blog. I just hit 40 and I am still trying to balance mom on the go with functional fashion. I like your style.
    Thanks Barbie

  3. Still not getting your emails. Getting tired of having to go to the website to check out the daily post. Agree with the other comments, font too small and color too light. Hoping everything gets resolved soon!

  4. I’m a big fan of the wide leg pant and have a couple of pair myself. I tend to wear them with fitted shirts, however. Either way, I love the trend!

  5. Please! Cyndi, please keep working on your font and color and siZe. I love what you do but this is still very hard for me to read. The light gray is impossiBle for me & its so small. Am i the only one? So sorry but – please dont mess up a good thing!

  6. Cyndi, Print is still very small and highlighted font does not appear to be any darker. Love reading your blog everyday!

  7. put on, “a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair”
I just was thinking that I done this this afternoon
Cute classy outfit love the shirt.

  8. I like the cropped wide leg but have yet to buy a pair. I feel they would look best with heels and I seldom wear anything high. I guess I need to try a pair on with flat sandals and see for myself. Your blouse is darling but I feel it should be a full tuck with the wide pants.
You wear the fun earrings! I really do need to up my game.

  9. Adorable outfit on you! i just bought 2 pairs of straight leg dress pants. I noticed many wide leg ones, but shyed away from them because I’m only 5 foot 2″. I actually used to wear these when i was younger and thinner. I do love an elastic WAIst though. Oh wow, i sound so old! Lol! Btw, I don’t know why this comment is in all caps… 😆

  10. Oh wow!!!
I bought these pants today at WHBM and just walked out of DSW with the same style of shoe! I was sitting in my car, exited about these additions to my wardrobe, and decided to check my emails. I’ve been following you for years but this is the first comment I’ve submitted. I’m having such a good day!

  11. Oh wow! You look so fabulous. What a fun outfit.
Also, Beauty For The Heart was just what I needed today. Thank you.

  12. I’m still only able to reply on my IPhone in all caps and not able to use auto correct either. When I reply on my home computer I find the print very small, but at least in lower case. ( using that method now). The links are still very faint almost a grey print. Your font is much better and the color of your photos are beautiful, so is todays outfit. It would be cute even for a dressy event like a shower or dinner out. I’m not much for the pant on me though as I’m 5’3 but I will try a trend IF THE PRICE IS RIGHT:) Have a great day. Love your BFTH so true. Have you found your shoes yet?? I must tell you I really wanted the Tory Burch miller sandal, but when I got to Florida I just couldn’t justify the price as for me I need to calculate the American exchange on my Canadian dollar. However much to my surprise I went into Rack Room Shoes and in the cognac color was a look a like sandal(slip on)l for $55.00 and I got a gold slip on for 1/2 price to boot. HA!!! They are so much like to Tory Burch I couldn’t believe it. Leather too. Anyway just wanted to share my special find with you. I hope your box turns up soon.

  13. The font looks good until you hit “read more here” then it is small and too light. Sorry if this comes accross As me yelling. Its only letting me type in all caps….

  14. Hi Cyndi! The bar at the beginning of your blog, which say “21 days of summer fashion” is covering you. Still having trouble with the font size and color. When we type to you its still in all caps and wont let me auto use any words.
Love the design, fashion, and words of faith.

  15. I like the cropped wide leg pants. I found a pair at a TJMaxx that are denim, and were marked $8! Score one for trying something trendy without making a big investment. Worth the try at that price.

  16. Outfit looks great on you, but I’ll have to pass on this trend. At 5’3″ this look would not work.

  17. Love the new look of the blog, but the font is still too light and small in size (for me), especially the fonts where links are included. I find the blog too hard to read. The bright light background against the light and small fonts makes it too difficult, at least for my aging eyes (LOL!).

Otherwise, the rest of your blog, the writing, the photos and the Beauty for the Heart section is always top notch.

Thank you and God Bless you.

  18. I am petite and short waisted, so i would not wear this outfit. But, It looks Great on you!

    Blessings,

    BetH

  19. cannot notice any difference in the size or that intensity of color.
    also
love the wide legs but not the highwater length.

  20. You look great in this outfit. Now, I don’t think the top would be for me because the sleeves and print are so very bold, and it’s kind of retro–too much going on with that top for most people, I think. However, you got the proportions overall right, and the pants and shoes look perfect together, and the purse color is really great with it. I do agree that this would work for all but the most conservative offices. I’m curious where you are with those tropical plants behind you so early in the season–such a pretty setting!

    1. Beautiful outfit . . . . . Do you think it would still work on someone who is 4’11”?
I too am curious as to where this beautiful landscape is????

  21. I Am not a fan of thIs style – i am way too short! However i said i would never wear jeans with the frayed hem and now that’s about all i wEar (Lol). I agree that the color is way too light on the website. I have to enlarge to be able to read on my phone anyway. Love the blog!!

  22. This is a beautiful outfit and it looks great on you, cyndi! The font on your website is darker which is better, but the highlights (links)are still very light. Your cute, new logo could be darkened also (in my humble opinion).

  23. This look is so 80’s to me, but looks good on You.
Unfortunately i am shoRt and would not be able to wear those pants but its a different look for those wanting a change from thE skinny pantS and jeans. Thanks for sharing.

  24. Absolutely love this look! Casual and classy❤️ You look beautiful Cyndi😊 Thank you for your style and blog!

  25. I think its perfect on you! I know you will enjoy your visit to UTAH! (This is where I live 😉 Make sure to visit temple square while you are there, its beautiful this time of year!

  26. LOVE the wide leg crop! In the 80’s we called them gauchos! Please style more. Appreciate hearing from you each day Cyndi. ❤️

  27. Hmmmmm…. Not sure why some of comments are large cap and others regular cap. Don’t want to come across as shouting at you! 😂

  28. The font color is slightly BETTER but could still be darker. the links are still APPEAR as a very faint grey/ lilac color which is hard to see. Perhaps that can be tweeked?

Cute outfit! The clutch purse is lovely.

  29. I love the look. I have several linen wide legs from previous years…now I can wear them… perfect for summer! Everything does come back in style…but my closets are not big enough to keep everything! You must have a storage locker somewhere! LOL

  30. I love to check out your blog. I am, however, unlikely to spend as much as necessary at Nordstrom’s for a trendy piece such as this. I really like it when you give options. Nordstrom’s /Target, Old Navy, or H&M Thanks

    1. I purchased my wide leg pants from Kohls. They were under $30, I don’t remember exactly how much. I love mine!

      1. I don’t think this trend is for me. I already have full length wide leg pants, and I like them, but the cropped ones hit the leg at just about the least flattering place possible. Maybe it will grow on me…

  31. I love this outfit on you! Would these be considered a “culotte”? Love the flower earr too! Have a wonderful day!

  32. I like the wide legged pants- but they look longer on you than On the Nordstrom site. Yours are almost to your ankle but other places I see them mid calf. Any other tips like wear them with heels?

I enjoy the look of your new website but I also am having trouble reading the font. It’s too light and the links are even harder to read.

    Thanks!

  33. Hi, Cyndi! The print DEFINITELY needs to be DARKER. Also the text that we can click on to go to another site is barely visible and it should be in bold. You want your website to be Easy to read and navigate. You want to maintain your loyal fan base! Thank you!

  34. Hi Cyndi. I’ve been reading your blog for about a year now. I understand the change in name for your blog, but what I’m having trouble with is the size of the font. i have 54 year old eyes! I may have to quit reading it because it strains my peepers! Please increase the font size so i can remain loyal!

    Beautiful outfit, beautiful lady!

  35. I like the new site but feel the “bolded” or highlighted print is still very hard to see – it’s almost like the opposite of what it should be. Just a thought.

  36. Hi Cyndi, your outfit is definitely showing trending styles. I joke that you know when a style is headed out of fashion, because that’s when i’m about warming up to it.

Your new design is very pretty, but the print is still kind of small and the highlighted items, while more visible, still aren’t very dark. I only say these things because you asked for feed back, not to be critical.

Hope you have a wonderful day. I will clothe myself in praise. wonderful verse, wonderful reminder of it.

  37. Hi Since the website design has changed I can’t seem to pin the pictures onto my Pinterest board. I now that you said the there was a ‘pop-out’ social media menu to left of the screen, but absolutely nothing happens when I click on this. The social media icons at the top and the bottom of the page take me to yours, but there doesn’t appear to be an option to save to mine….?

  38. I’m really not on board with this type of leg…unless you have a carrot body shape. It tends to add visual weight IMHO. Beautiful top…looks great on you!

  39. I love wide leg pants. They can be very comfortable and don’t make me so self-conscious about my legs. The ones you are wearing almost look like a skirt! I think it is a sophisticated look. Looking forward to seeing you style a pair with a print.

  40. HI CINDY

oH AND SO FAR i DON’T SEE ANY CHANGE IN THE FONT ON YOUR WEBSITE.

  41. Very cute outfit! One thing about the wide leg pants is you MUST wear heels otherwise it get a “dumpy” look quickly. You’ve styled it beautifully. I have a pair I bought last year and they are so comfy :). I think this would even be pretty for a daytime summer wedding. Thanks for always trying new things!

  42. Keep working on the highlight links color – it is still too light to see – try caps or a dark color!

  43. I LOVE this outfit!!! This is such a perfect classy look! This is an outfit that I would feel confident in. I would love to see more styles like this. Thank you.
