Simply Sunday-I’m Not Good Enough

{photo credit}

But He said to me, My grace (My favor and loving-kindness and mercy) is enough for you [sufficient against any danger and enables you to bear the trouble manfully]; for My strength and power are made perfect (fulfilled and completed) and show themselves most effective in [your] weakness. Therefore, I will all the more gladly glory in my weaknesses and infirmities, that the strength and power of Christ (the Messiah) may rest (yes, may pitch a tent over and dwell) upon me!

So for the sake of Christ, I am well pleased and take pleasure in infirmities, insults, hardships, persecutions, perplexities and distresses; for when I am weak in human strength], then am I [truly] strong (able, powerful in divine strength).

2 Corinthians 12:9 (AMP)

Sometimes Satan rears his ugly head and tries to remind me of all my failures, my weaknesses,  and my mistakes. He fills my head with what I call, “I’m not good enough”.

I’m not good a good enough wife…mother….friend….Sunday School teacher, just fill in the blank. That’s when I turn to scripture and this verse reminds me that in my weaknesses Christ is strong!

No, on my own, I’m not good enough. But with Christ I am!

  • I’m forgiven!
  • I’ve been set free!
  • I’m loved!

Today if you’re feeling not good enough, let me remind you……….YOU ARE!!!

But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. Ephesians 2:4-5

Have a blessed day!

  1. Amen! I love this verse. It’s so comforting and filled with truth and love. This is what I’d call a “soaking verse”, one that I love to simply soak in on those tough days.

    Thank you for the reminder today, Cyndi.
