Encouraging Words Wednesday and a Link Up

It’s Encouraging Words Wednesday!

I started this weekly post because I think it’s important to encourage one another.

1 Thessalonians 5:1 says, “Therefore encourage one another

and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.

Some days, weeks, etc. can be difficult, and we need to lift each other up.

It’s no fun to be around people who are always complaining or negative.

No matter what season of life we’re in, we all need encouragement.

There are many ways we can do this.

One way is to send an encouraging note or letter.

Don’t you love getting a sweet note in the mail?

Some of the letters and notes that I’ve received I treasure

and I’ve kept them so I can read them again.

My Mom was a note writer and she was always sending someone an encouraging note.

One of the notes I treasure the most is the last one Mom wrote to me before she passed away.

It was a thank you for all the things I had been doing for her while she was sick.

No thank you note was needed because I was so thankful

to have this time with Mom before she died.

(BTW only a mother would call her daughter a saint 🙂 )

I love seeing her hand writing and I love the way she always put a heart by our name.

Mom was a blessing to everyone who knew her because she was an encourager!

So what about you, have you written any notes lately?

Have you encouraged any one with a hug, or a phone call or even a smile?

This week let’s try to encourage the people around us.

Now it’s time for Encouraging Words Wednesday Linky Party!

  1. Thank you for sharing that encouraging note your mother sent you. I almost felt a little guilty for reading it; it was so personal and sweet. But what a special example! What kind of world would we have if more people did things like this?

  2. Cyndi, I’ve enjoyed the Encouraing Words Wednesday party and I have tried so long to be able to link up to it, but for some reason, it is just not working. I’m sure I’m doing something wrong, just don’t have a clue what it is. Maybe I’ll figure it out by the next one you do! Thanks for hosting. I too love the notes that your mom gave to her family. I think personal hand written notes are becoming a thing of the past. Maybe that’s what I need to stick to!! Gail

  3. Oh, I do love cards! What an encouragement from your mom! And the fact that she called you a saint? Love that!

So glad you stopped by today. 🙂

  4. Thank you for being the hostess with the mostest!
What fun to see all these Christian women and to read their encouraging words!

  5. Cyndi, thank you for hosting such an encouraging place to be each week! I, too, am a big (snail mail) note writer and so is my mom. My daughter (12 y) now loves to write notes, too. It does really seem to mean a lot to people to receive a handwritten note on actual paper they can hold in their hands! And, BTW, a HUGE congrats on your new grandchild 🙂 God bless!
    Love Laurie

  6. Hey Cyndi! I just LOVED seeing that note from your mom! What a treasure. I know you’re so grateful to have that reminder–it’s as if that card contains her heart. Precious!

I linked up my “Grace Imparted” post here. To me it’s an encouraging post; I hope maybe someone else might be blessed by it. I like the idea of “Encouraging Words Wednesday,” and I like the fact that you’re prompting people to be encouraging. And I like you! No, I take that back–I love you!
