Encouraging Words Wednesday and a Link Up

It’s official! Courtney is miserable!

She’s almost 38 weeks and Colt Allen is really pushing on her ribs.

She’s still smiling but it’s definitely getting a little crazy around here.

I remember being 9 months pregnant with Courtney.

I thought she was never going to come out of me!

Funny, when you’re pregnant and in pain you feel like

you’re the only one who’s ever been pregnant.

I keep reminding Courtney that all the pain of pregnancy

will soon be a distant memory.

The pain will soon turn into a blessing named Colt Allen.

The first time she holds that baby boy in her arms………

nothing else will matter.

Many of us have real hardships and real trials.

It’s hard sometimes to see clearly when we’re smack

in the middle of a painful situation. Romans 5:3-4 says,

“More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering

produces endurance, and endurance produces character,

and character produces hope,”  It’s hard to rejoice in our sufferings isn’t it?

But those sufferings and hardships are doing a work in us

that will make us look more and more like Christ.

“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters,

whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that

the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance

finish it’s work so that you may be mature and complete,

not lacking anything.”  James 1:2-4

I don’t know what trials you’re facing today but I do know that God

can bring blessings from them. He is faithful!

Walking in His Grace,

Now it’s time for Encouraging Words Wednesday Linky Party!

  1. Praying for mom, baby, and grandma. C-section-ouch! I have been there three times. One almost a year ago (her birthday is on the 13th) so I remember well where I was at this time last year. Huge! Just stopped by from the Relevant link up page.

  2. She’s beautiful though!!

Today God reminded me that HE is the LIFTER of my head. When I am down, discouraged, unable to lift my head off my pillow of trials HE WILL LIFT ME!!

  3. Cyndi,

This blog brings me a little bit of piece today. Going through trails is never easy and the light at the end of the tunnel does not always shine bright enough. However, God is great, merciful, and like you said, faithful. Remembering those words definitely helps.

    Thanks for sharing!

  4. Keeping your daughter in prayer as she nears the end of her pregnancy. I have watched my daughter go through it twice. God sent 2 sweet little boys into our family to love and cherish.

I just linked up to this post #9 and have a typo in my title. I meant to type “content” and not “conyent”. Not sure how to fix it. If you can, that would be wonderful. Thanks for hosting this linky party. ~ Abby

  5. I always hated being 38 weeks because everyone would say, “You haven’t gone yet?” Of course that was a looong time ago.

I’ve seen God turn trials into blessings. Experiences I never thought would serve a purpose in His plan were made beautiful. It’s helped me offer all my failures and disappointments to God — trusting…
