What I Wore Wednesday

Happy Wednesday!

Today I’m linking up with the Pleated Poppy for

The hardest thing about taking pictures of my outfits is getting someone in my family to take the picture. They literally run the other way when they see me coming with the camera.

So, this week I had to take the picture myself. Yes, I have to set the camera on a ladder, set my timer and then run to make it in time. It’s pretty funny!

Since I’ve been taking pictures of my outfits I’ve realized I wear way too much gray and black in the winter (my husband has told me this before). I’m going to get serious about wearing more color!

Before I buy anything I’m going to shop my closet. If your like me, I have things in there that I haven’t wore in a while (I did glance in there for some color and its not looking good).

Now for my outfit, I’ve been wanting some slim ankle pants for winter and I found these at Banana Republic on sale after Christmas. Since we’ve been having a mild winter this was a perfect week to wear them.

I also like wearing these pants with heels and I found this on Pinterest. Cute and Classic!

It’s supposed to get cold here the next few days so I’ll be bundling up and wearing my boots. Wish me luck on finding some color!

Do you feel like you wear a lot of black and gray too or is it just me?

Beauty For the Heart~~Devote yourselves to prayer with an alert mind and a thankful heart. Colossians 4:2

This morning my devotion reminded me to pour out my requests before the Lord and then thank Him for the answers that are on the way. It may not be the answer we want but it will always be the answer that is best for us!

  1. When I looked in my closet, everything I own is black and grey. I definitely need to find some color! That will be my mission for the next couple of weeks! Thanks!

  2. Black and Grey!! My two faves!! Haha!! I am really trying to mix it up…but yet its hard when you own 55 pcs of each color!! {ha…joking…kinda}

  3. I get stuck in the black/gray rut too. I try to add pops of color with jewelry, handbags, or scarfs but don’t always succeed since some of my jewelry, bags, and scarfs are black and gray too! Love your fashion blogs. Great ideas!

  4. I wear a lot of black, too–don’t we all? I don’t have a lot of grey, although I like it. But I’m a color girl at heart–I’m guessing some people would tell me that my clothes are too colorful at times. My winter “uniform” is jeans or black pants and a sweater of some kind–usually colorful! I’m trying to branch out a little this year and add some other things. I thought of you when I wore a scarf on both Monday and Tuesday of this week! (Of course, I wore them over black tops.) 🙂

  5. Hi Cathy!
Thanks for stopping by and leaving a sweet comment! I love to add handbags too, to make a statement. But I really need some colored shirts or sweaters or something! 🙂
    Have a great week!

  6. I’m a chocolate brown girl, year round! I’ve learned to layer other colors under, like yellow, pink, turquoise, etc.. Plus I use my handbags to make a statement too. I love your blog and you have inspired me, thank you!

  7. LOVE…your outfit. Especially your top. So cute.

it’s been WARM here…in MN. 50’s the past 2 days…which is odd…and NO snow…..BOO. But, we are suppose to get snow tonight…and be back down in the low teens. I’ll be bundling up too!

    Have a GREAT day.

  8. You are the cutest thing ever Cyndi!! 🙂 I just LOVE your blog (your daughter’s and sister’s too!). I’m in NC, but I have to tell ya, if I were anywhere near you I’d be on your front door step!!! I’m a “40 something” wife and mother who LOVES JESUS, coffee, chocolate, fashion, makeup and shoes too and we could easily be best friends!!! 🙂 Oh, and I’m definitely a lover of black and gray …… needless to say, I have on black now – LOL!
    Blessings,

  9. Yeah, one thing about the WIWW post is that you have to find someone to take your picture! I’ve been having my hubby do it, but he’s not usually home from work til after 5 & then its dark out! I might have to find me a ladder! 🙂 LOL! That’s a good idea! I also wear a lot of gray!

  10. I was looking at my closet the other day and thinking how much brown and grey I have! Color does wonders doesn’t it? And don’t you find – though in many ways odd- taking pictures of yourself just helps you see stuff like that? I have learned so much by doing this each week!

The pants are a great find! Love them!
