What I Wore in February

Happy Leap Day! I don’t know about you but I can always use an extra day in the year.

I feel like I need to do something to celebrate this extra day! I may treat myself to a dessert {smile}.

Several weeks ago I read a comment on a blog mentioning the What I Wore Wednesday posts. It was kind of negative.

She was basically saying who cares what women are wearing. She has a point, but she’s missing the reason behind the posts.

As women, especially Moms, we get busy with our families and responsibilities at home that we sometimes stay in our sweat pants or pajamas all day.

Sometimes we need to be pushed a little and most of us have plenty of clothes in our closet that we can wear without having to buy a thing.

Although I don’t have young children at home and I rarely wear sweat pants, I still thought it would be fun to take pictures of what I wear.

Taking a picture lets you see what your clothes look like on you and I’ve been trying to mix and match more of the clothes I already have.

Since this is the last day of the month, I thought I’d share some things I wore during the month of February.

I bought this striped shirt at Target and I have wore it a lot during the month of February. It’s so comfortable!

I wore this black jumper with a white collared shirt to church. I love a crisp white collared shirt and wear them all the time.

I love my red scarf and wore it around Valentine’s Day.

These are my new glasses and I have my striped shirt on, this time with a polka dot scarf, I also got at Target.

This is a picture my friend Becky from Organizing Made Fun sent me. We were at Blissdom and we’re all dressed up. Becky is in the adorable black and white blouse.

I have followed Becky’s blog for several years and I was so excited to meet her at Blissdom.

She is not only beautiful on the outside but she is beautiful on the inside. She is passionate about Jesus and I loved getting to chat with her this past weekend.

Thank you all for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful Leap Day!

So, what’s your opinion, do you like the What I Wore Wednesday posts?

Beauty For the Heart~~This week in my women’s Sunday School class I’m going to be teaching from Psalm 42. I love these verses because they remind us even in the midst of turmoil in our lives we still need to have an attitude of praise. That’s not easy is it?

I’ve found if I make praising Jesus a daily habit, then on the difficult days, I can still praise Him because I’m already in the habit!

Psalm 42:5, Why am I so depressed? Why this turmoil within me? Put your hope in God, for I will still praise Him, my Savior and my God.

  1. I feel that I was guided to your website. I love everything about your blog, especially the What I Wore posts. I can’t wait to try some of these looks and knowing where you have purchased the clothing is awesome. I purchased my first Golden Tote last night. Fashion is not one of my strengths so I an grateful for the help. I am also finding my relationship with Jesus. Like I said, I feel that I was guided to your blog.

  2. Just found your blog today! Usually I read the decorating blogs, but somehow I found my way here and I’m glad I did. Reading through your posts, I came to this one. Please disregard the negative comment you read (I know it is hard, I struggle with handling criticism, one negative comment from someone can throw me for a loop). It is hard to find flattering, modest and stylish (affordable) clothing for women in their forties. I really like many of your ideas, and you look lovely. Thanks for the inspiration!

  3. I LOVE the WIWW posts! I just found them:)
I love fashion and clothing! I love fashion magazines, but with all their negative imagery, I need to stay away from them. As a mom of 3 young boys, I think its important that I dress nicely and give my boys a sense of what godliness and beauty look like–together! I also love that all the WIWW posts I follow feature affordable, modest, and accessible clothing! don’t stop the posts…if its not someone’s “thing”, then they don’t need to read it:)
thanks for sharing your heart on this!!

  4. Cyndi,
Please keep up the Wednesday’s post! I struggle with clothing, but you inspire me to be deligent about my appearance. As Chrisitian women seeking to glorify the Lord as women, clothing is one area of dominion we are called to. I find putting outfits together hard work, while it comes more natural for other women, they should be using that gift to serve others, which is what you are doing here on this blog!

  5. I love your What I Wore posts! I like seeing what others are wearing. It gives me new ideas for the same ole’ clothes I have in my closet. Keep ’em coming! 🙂

  6. I seem to start off every comment I leave on your blog by saying “I enjoy your blog Cyndi” and I’ll say it again!! I love it! In answer to your question, yes, I do love What I Wore Wednesday…. like others mentioned I love your modest taste in clothes. Also, I’m from Canada so of course I can’t go out to Kohl’s or Target and get a certain piece of clothes that I love on you, but I sure won’t be negative about it… that’s just the way it is! If someone seeks to be negative about something, they’ll always find something! We are all different… Traci’s blog is more on home renos, yours is fashion and if I had one, mine would be geared more towards cooking, as that is my passion. So be encouraged Cyndi… we love your blog 🙂 Love you!

  7. Thanks for encouraging women to look attractive. I want to look nice every day for my husband and others I come in contact with–as well as for myself. My self esteem goes up tremendously even if I only spend 10 – 15 minutes putting on makeup, doing my hair, and choosing an outfit for the day. When my two sons were growing up, I made a point of always looking nice when I went to their school, took them somewhere, etc. This required me to “fix myself up” every morning, just in case I would get called unexpectedly to pick them up at school. Before I became a parent I was an elementary teacher. I saw mothers at school that looked like they just got out of bed no matter what time of day it was. I am sure they were an embarrassment to their kids. I resolved then that I would not look like that when I became a mother. I never wanted my sons to be ashamed of me.
Thanks Cyndi for helping seniors like me keep up to date with makeup, hairstyles, and clothing ideas, and for stressing the more important aspect of inner beauty for Christian women.

  8. Hey Cyndi, I love YOUR what I wore Wednesday posts, because you are modest and tasteful, and I love the premise behind making an effort (I wouldn’t like to come home to my husband wearing sweats everyday)but, to be honest, I have seen some WIWOW posts on other blogs, that have been show offy (is that a word???), and or inappropriate. That makes me sad to see Christian women show off, or try to build themselves up. You have a good balence of reminding us about inner beauty.

  9. Your posts and outfits are cute! Don’t listen to negative comments. Why would the person even read “What I Wore Wednesday” if they weren’t interested in fashion or style? They should skip it and find something they are interested in instead of commenting negatively!

  10. I love your “What I Wore Wednesday” and would be sad if you discontinued them!! p.s. I am so glad you told us where you got that yellow & gray polka dot scarf….I love it!! Definitely going to have to look for it next time I’m at Target!! Hope your having a great week Cyndi!! Miss you guys!!

  11. Aren’t you so sweet? I LOVE your Wednesday posts! I think we all need inspiration and help to keep motivated. I love fashion, but not to the point that it rules my life -it’s just FUN! I’m much better at it in my 40s {and late 30s} then I was in my 20s, believe it or not! I think once women see what works for THEM, it’s much easier to enjoy it. Great job, Cyndi!

  12. hi cyndi. i totally understand the comment about these posts. i have a friend who doesn’t know what makeup is and works in the construction field. she basically only wears tee shirts and jeans and is very content and happy. girly things do not mean a thing to her and that is great. however, this morning getting ready for work, i curled my hair, did my makeup, picked out an outfit, shoes and jewelry and had fun doing so. i think it’s ok to say that i feel pretty but also humble and blessed that God has allowed me to live a life that although i have to be very frugal, i also have the opportunity to be girly. i love these posts and would be sad if you were to discontinue. your blog is the first one i check b/c i love to see what you have written about (including beauty for the heart). i think your clothes are adorable and also affordable, which makes it realistic. carry on please…… linda

  13. Yes, keep up your ” What I Wore Wednesdays”. It is very fun and helpful. You provide inspiration for me and you do it in an economical way. You are appropriate, modest and real. Thanks! Enjoy your Leap Day

  14. I enjoy your “What I Wore Wednesdays”…they usually make a light bulb go off when I see 2 similar items that I own that I never thought of putting together to create a different look.

I’m guilty of living in sweats and yoga pants. I am trying to “dress up” at least twice a week to get out of that rut.
