7 Things You Might Not Know About Me

Good morning!

I’m so glad you stopped by today. Many of you stop by here every day.

I know you by your first name because when you leave a comment it pops up in my email.

I smile because I feel like I know you.

Well, I don’t know you in real life, but I do know you through this crazy thing called a computer.

Many of you stop by but don’t ever leave a comment, and that’s perfectly fine!

But truthfully, I’d love to know a little bit about each of you.

If I could, I’d invite you over for coffee (or tea if you’d prefer), we’d have a scrumptious

dessert ( chocolate, of course) and sit and talk for hours. Wouldn’t that be fun?!

I’d ask you what you’re passionate about, are you married, or single?

Do you have children, grandchildren?

Have you, like me, lost someone you love?

What’s your favorite food? I could go on and on~~~~.

Today I’m going to share some things about myself and if you would like,

I’d love for you leave a comment and say “Hi”.

If you want, you could even tell me something about yourself.

  • I’ve mentioned this briefly here on my blog, but I’m a Dental Hygienist by profession. I graduated from Western Kentucky University in 1988 and I’ve been practicing part-time for most of those 20 some years. Right now, I’m working two days a week!
  • I’m passionate about growing closer to Christ! I’m a mess without him and I’m determined to know Him better.
  • I love to belly laugh and I do it a lot. Ask my family, they’ll tell you when we’re together I usually laugh until I cry!
  • I’m addicted to coffee and chocolate. I can’t think in the morning before my first cup of coffee. I know I should eat something healthy for breakfast but I prefer chocolate and I so I’m always looking for a breakfast food that’s healthy and chocolate! Haha!
  • I’m the “first born” child and I fit the part perfectly. I can be controlling, bossy, and I tend to have high expectations. My motto, “He’s still working on me, to make me what I need to be.” Thank goodness for grace!
  • I love kids! I love their excitement for life. I love their honesty and they always make me laugh!
  • I want to exercise. If you asked me, I’d say I do, but I’m not sure 15 minutes a week on the treadmill actually counts. I wake up everyday saying I’m going to do better!

Well, that’s a little bit about me, I’d love to hear from you!

If you have time leave me a comment and let me know you’ve stopped by.

I was front desk/offc manager until I started working with my Hubby at our business in 2012…we sell and service golf carts and work on forklifts…Who knows how long he will want to keep working!!! Waiting for covid to be gone so we can comfortably travel more! Love my grandbabies, Zoe, the baby lives in Denver so not far, see her every week. Our baby daughter lives in Austin, everyone else here. So look forward to your emails each day. Wish we lived closer!! So nice meeting you on the internet!!!!

  2. Hi Cydi. I just recently found your blog and am really enjoying it and find it helpful. I have shared it with friends and family who also love your style. I too am a dental hygienist. I unfortunately was widowed some years ago and raised my two children by myself. Without my faith in God, I wouldn’t have been able to make it through. My kids are grown and both doing well. My oldest is married now and has given me two precious grandchildren! My youngest is now out of school and working and living on her own as well. Thank you for graciously sharing your classy style.

  3. Hi, Cyndi. You may not even receive this–two-and-a-half years after the last comment! But I just wanted to say I love your blog. I read it every day. As a minister’s wife myself, I love your modest and stylish fashion and I’ve been able to pull together several outfits from clothes in my closet that I’ve never worn together.

I’ve been married 36 years and we have a beautiful son and daughter (both adults now). My husband was a pastor and a seminary professor, but now is on permanent disability from effects of a severe infection last year. We have been blessed to work together through the years and, now with the change in his working ability, the Lord has led us to write a marriage blog. Life is sweeter now, and we cherish our time together.

Thank you for sharing not only style and fashion, but also the things of the heart. And God’s precious truth. You are a blessing, Cyndi!

  4. I love your blog. Just started reading it. Was reading other fashion blogs, and realized they were for 20 and 30 somethings. Your fashion is practical but also on trend. I am dabbling with the idea of starting a blog, and reading lots of them. I live in the Midwest, but am originally from the south.

  5. Cyndi, hope you do not mind a late response to this post! I am fairly new to your blog…and I just LOVE it!…. I am about to turn 45…I have been married almost 26 years to my high school sweetheart! We have three children. A daughter 22 who has graduated college and is now in PT school, a daughter 20 who is a sophmore in college and a 15 year old son who is a freshman in high school!… I always need to improve my walk with Jesus!… I, like you, lost my Mom almost 15 years ago! I was only 30 she was only 56!! She died suddenly of a brain aneurysm! I miss her dearly! Not a day goes by that I do not think about her! But oh how I know heaven is such a sweeter place with my precious Mom there!… Keep up the good work here! ~~Blessings! 🙂

  6. Hi Cyndi! I know I’m super late for this post, but I was hoping you wouldn’t mind if I still responded. I love your blog, and had been following it for a while. Then, I got a new computer and lost all my favorites. Just recently re-found you! I love reading your fashion tips, even though I am younger (24)! I don’t follow the latest fashion trends too much and tend to focus more on building my wardrobe with classics that will last a long time. I’ve been married to my husband 4 years, live in PA, we lead a SS class for young adults at our church, and have no kids. I’m the secretary of our church Adult Ministry Team…I am addicted to coffee as well 🙂 Scrapbooking is my favorite hobby, along with making our home a warm and inviting place for friends and family. Thanks for your wonderful blog!!

  7. Hi Cyndi
I found your blog through Traci and enjoy your honesty and upbeat attitude. I am 58, have 5 children (38, 36, 34, 29, 25 – the baby is getting married in June!
We have 8 grandchildren (ages 10, 7, 6, 6, 6, 4, 4, 3) and lots of fun in the pool in the summer. I am a college math teacher. Love Jesus too – without him I would go crazy

  16. Hey, Cyndi! I’m a little late to the party. I enjoyed reading the comments from other followers. I am also a “hygenius”, as my husband likes to call me. You and I have chatted briefly about this before. 23 yrs for me. The last yr I have worked part time for the GBC with their Baptist Mobile Health Ministry. You really would enjoy this type of work. Like you, I am a little burned out on hygiene. This allows me to stay in dentistry without having to clean teeth:) Anyway…I’m 47, married, & no children. I recently started co-teaching 11th & 12th grade girls Sunday School. I L-O-V-E chocolate!!! I don’t like coffee, but I do like hot tea. Wish I liked to exercise, too! I love all things associated with clothing and beauty products. I also have brown hair and brown eyes, and you always look amazing! Thanks for your daily blog. I really look forward to hearing from you each day.

  17. Hi Cyndi! Just wanted to say Hi and introduce myself. I am a 30 year old full-time wife/part-time substitute teacher (taught full-time before I got married three years ago). My wonderful husband and I are praying that God will bless us with children. I have a hard time relating to most fashion bloggers – cause that’s just not me – but I love reading your blog even more now that you are doing more fashion posts. A lot of that has to do with the way your heart for Jesus shines through. I too love coffee and chocolate and have recently started to exercise regularly (although – not going to lie – I hate it!) 🙂 At the beginning of this year, I began blogging as a creative outlet and have really been enjoying it. Keep up the good work on that laundry room. Can’t wait to see the finished product. 🙂

  18. Hi Lori!
Thank you for introducing yourself! I understand the college thing! Both of our children went to private colleges and we are still paying for it. Not smart! I wish they had gone to a state university.
You are blessed to still have all your parents. Cherish them! 🙂
    Have a great week,
    Cyndi

  19. Hi Angie!
So nice to meet you!! I love getting to meet women from all over the world, and I love how you say
    Mum. 🙂
I’m also thankful your daughter had the bone marrow transplant and I hope she’s doing well.
Thank you for stopping by and I’m so glad you decided to introduce yourself.
    Have a great week,
    Cyndi

  20. Hi MarLaney
Thank you for sharing a little about yourself. I can’t tell you how happy I am that you are growing closer to Christ. Keep focusing on Him!
Cherish every moment with your sweet Mama. I would give anything to hug my Mom one last time. I miss her so much!
    Blessings,
    Cyndi
P.S. Nothing wrong with a 20 year age difference. 🙂

  21. Hi Debbie!!
Thank you for introducing yourself! I remember very well you asking me to pray for your Father. Praying his pet scan will come back with no cancer. Please keep me posted.
You have a full and busy life and wow 11 grandkids, that’s awesome! We love to go to the lake too and Seaside Beach is one of my favorite places. I just went there to eat dinner when I was in Florida a few weeks ago.
Thank you for stopping by my blog!
    Blessings,
    Cyndi

  22. Hi! First of all…I look forward to your blog with each posting. It is such a pleasure to connect with Christian sisters. You are so gifted and inspiring. Thank you for your blog ministry.

I’m very blessed to be a mom to an incredible son and daughter, mother-in-law to the best daughter-in-law ever, a wife to a fantastic husband and most recently “Mimi” to a sweet little girl who lights our world! We’re adding two more blessings to our crazy family this year. Second granddaughter in May and a precious son-in-law in August.

God blessed me with the awesome opportunity to serve in full-time children’s ministry. My career was following a track directly toward retirement at a young age. God had other plans and they were so perfect of course. Still can’t understand how He could use me in this way. Needless to say, life is busy but blessed beyond what I deserve!

Now to add to the craziness, we have a home-based business designing decorative magnetic boards.
God gave me this distraction at a much needed time when my daughter (our youngest) left for college 🙂
    God is so amazing!

Thank you again for your ministry and encouragement.

  23. Hi Sandy!
Thank you so much for introducing yourself! I’m so excited to meet a fellow pastor’s wife. Yeah!!
We sound like we could be close friends! Lots in common!
    Blessings,
    Cyndi

  24. Hi Leanne!
It sounds like you have a wonderful family! And your a woman after my own heart with coffee and chocolate. 🙂
Thank you so much for introducing yourself!
    Blessings,
    Cyndi

  25. Hey Lisa!
So nice to meet you! Thank you for your sweet words of encouragement.
I’ll keep up the style tips, don’t worry! 🙂
Have a great week and thank you again for introducing yourself.
    Blessings,
    Cyndi

  26. I am just getting around to reading this post; the busy life of a wife, mother, daughter and teacher. I read your blog just about everyday-when I get the chance. Love it!! Thanks for sharing a bit about you. I am 46, and my husband and I will celebrate our 20th anniversary in August. I have 2 daughters; one is 18 and just finishing her first year of college, and the other is 14 who will be in high school next year. I have been a teacher since 1990, teaching Kindergarten through 4th grades. Like you, I graduated from college in 1988. Alzheimer’s has affected my life: my dad has it, and and my grandma (his mother) had it. I am also chauffeur to my mom who has never had a driver’s license. I live in the town I grew up in, the town where Thomas Edison was born! I enjoy traveling to new places; drove to Las Vegas (to visit my brother) from Ohio 5 years ago. Fun fact: I’ve been to Disney World over 20 times since it opened in 1971. I’ve seen the place change over the years. And, I love your hair! 🙂

  27. Hi my name is Sharon, from Oregon.
    I write a blog http://www.sharono-somethingtothinkabout.com/
I am 57 years old and have been married 38 years, we have two grown adult children and six grandchildren. My son has three sons and my daughter has three daughters four out of six of our grandchilren were preemies and in nicu…the littlest was 7 weeks early weighing 2 pds 11oz.
I came to know the Lord in my teen years. He met me in a dramatic personal way.
I have been blogging now for three years before that my ‘career was in a pharmacy’. Semi retired now only doing a bit of day care to pay a few bills off.

  28. Missed this yesterday so I wanted to comment today. I am happily married mother of 3, SAHM. I will turn 40 on Saturday and will be a grandmother in July. I love reading your blog and love the sweet spirit that shines from you through it with every post

  29. Hi Cyndi!
I read your blog everyday (we’re also friends on Facebook) and feel like I know you! You’re always so encouraging, uplifting and I love to see your love for the Lord expressed in your blog. I’m a 43-year old stay-at-home mom to a wonderful 10-year old little boy ~ he’s our miracle baby. My husband and I celebrated our 20th wedding anniviersary this past January (we’ve known each other since the 9th grade!) I’m so thankful to have been rasied in a Christian home and accepted the Lord as my Savior around the age of 12 years old. I have attended the same Baptist church in Springfield, MO my whole life and my entire family is still active there. I’m a member of our choir and praise team and love worshipping the Lord through music. I’m definitely very much a girly-girl, but I do love to exercise and work up a good sweat! I run alot and have done several half marathons. I love anything to do with fashion, beauty, SHOES and decorating my home. I too have one sister and we are very close to each other, as well as to our mom. Oh how I wish we could just sit down and “hang out” one afternoon ~ I know we’d have a ball. 🙂 Have a wonderful day!
P.S. My husband travels to Louisville, KY several times a month for work. My son and I came with him last summer and had a great time there ~ hopefully I can visit again soon! 🙂

  30. I found your blog through your sister’s blog. I am addicted to DIY blogs even though I never have anytime to do the projects I see! I live in Arizona and have been married for 14 years to my best friend. I have two daughters ages 12 and 4 and two sons ages 10 and 8. I love being a mom and also work part time from home teaching coupon classes online. I have never had coffee in my life as I am a Mormon but I love chocolate. I love to workout and would not know how to function if I couldn’t exercise everyday. It’s my stress release. I love how real you are and I always feel spiritually uplifted after reading your posts. Thanks for your blog.

  31. Hi. I turned 40 last October. I have ALWAYS wanted to be a mama. In high school, I had quite a debate with my high school career guidance counselor because I said that I wanted to stay home and raise godly children (he wanted me to go to college)! I did ultimately go to college and married a wonderful man almost 15 years ago. God (ironically) did not bless us with any biological children, but we adopted the most beautiful, sweet, kind, and loving child through international adoption. She is now 6, so I am an older mama. But, I AM a mama and I LOVE IT!!! We are trying to scrape together money again for one more adoption; wow, is that hard to do!

I l-o-v-e reading your blog, which is on my “favorites” bar. I click on it every, single morning first thing to see if there is a new post. LOL! Your sense of fashion is first-rate and I love the tone of your blog. I also love that you are not afraid to share your faith.

One more thing about me…I drink ice tea (no sugar!) every single day. BIG glasses of it. YUM!

Thanks for making my day brighter!

  32. Hi Cyndi! Love your blog. I found it via Traci’s. I am a Christian saved by Grace. I am an avid quilter, and absolutely love learning new things, whether it be new recipes, DIY projects, or electronics. I have a quilting ministry where I make a survivor a quilt from her loved one’s shirts. It started out for widows but I’ve expanded it to bring comfort to others -moms who have lost children, a sister who lost her twin and I am currently working on one for my pastor and his wife who lost their son. I work full time in the nuclear industry; I am 53, married with one son and daughter in law. Absolutely can’t wait on grand babies! Keep up the blog. You are such a blessing!

  33. Hi there, I love this, and thank you for inviting us to “coffee”
I mostly read your blog posts, because just about the time I discovered your blog, I slipped and broke my ankle/leg in 7 places. But I have commented a few times here and Facebook. And I follow you on Pinterest.

Here it goes, I have been married to hubby for 21years, we have 4 daughters ages 17, 15, 13, & 10. Yes my life is full of drama! We scrapbook together, we do car shows together, we work on hot rods together.

I am the Front Desk Receptionist & Pastoral Assistant for our church. I have the best job ever, and work with the most wonderful Pastors and assistants.

Cyndi, I find your blog & Facebook to be very encouraging and uplifting!!! Thank you!

  34. Hi Cyndi~
I started following your blog about a year ago. I was touched by your biography. Your down to earth, Christ loving heart shows through your posts. About me:
    1) I am a Christian
    2) I’m 54
    3) Been married for 32 years
    4) Have three children: two boys (30 and 29) one girl (27) two daughters-in-law, two grandsons and one granddaughter on the way.
    5) I’ve always been active (hiking, walking, cycling) however, last year at the ripe old age of 53 I decided to take up running. I ran in 6 5K runs last year. My first 5K of this year is on Saturday. Running is not my favorite (my knees HURT) but it has been helpful in losing weight!
    6) I lost my dad when I was 38 years old. He was a GODLY man and I’m so thankful that he was my dad! I can so relate to what you feel in the loss of your mom. After 16 years I still miss him terribly.
Thank your for your blog and the way you always have scripture in it. 🙂

  35. Hi Cyndi 🙂
I loved getting to know you better! Thanks for sharing! I wish we lived closer to each other – in addition to our names, we have much in common!
May God continue to bless you and your ministry!
    In Him,
    CIndy 🙂

  36. Can’t believe I didn’t say that I’m a sister-in-Christ… .Love God with all my heart! In an ever-changing and unsure world so thankful we have Jesus our Rock, steadfast and sure! I esp. love your posts about God, Cyndi and am so encouraged fromt them.

  37. I’ve been married to a wonderful man for almost 33 years, have 3 grown children and one precious granddaughter (20 mos). I love coffee and chocolate and don’t particularly like to exercise, but joined the Y last week and am determined to work out enough to be healthy (I went to a Zumba class and have to admit it was FUN!) I lost my dad to cancer in 2008 and my mom only 18 months later. I think I related so quickly to you and Traci because of the things you’ve both shared about your mom. We recently moved across the country for my husband’s job and I’m trying to make friends and make a new place feel like home. And…to answer a question you asked awhile ago…I think being a Christian woman and loving fashion and makeup goes together quite nicely! I even put on mascara and eyebrows to go to the gym…lol!

  38. Hi Cyndi,
I’m 41 (the one who doesn’t look 41) with two little girls (7 and 5). I have worked in finance forever but I hate it. Recently lost my last job in two years so do the stay at home mom thing for a bit. I love photography and quilting, not great at both but I love them. I also love fashion and home decorating but not great at those either. I’m trying to figure out my next path. I need to loose some weight but I can’t find the motivation or energy to exercise.
Love reading your blog! and following you on Twitter

  39. Hey, I just saw you have an August bday…met too! I’ll be 44 on August 31st. I’m starting to think we were separated at birth! LOL

  40. I feel like know you too! I’m a typical firstborn too! I am the oldest of 4. Married for 14 years. I have 1 daughter who is a teenager. I just resigned from teaching. I’m a dr. pepper a holic and trying to quit. Like you, I really want to start an exercise routine. I LOVE to laugh. I sometimes try to make people laugh. I’m passionate about writing, being an effective communicator and getting a message of hope, inspiration and conviction out into the world.
I visit your blog and your sister’s blog regularly. And I’m anxious to see your finished laundry room….I told Traci that I’d come over a light a little fire…PLEASE go buy the paint. (see that’s the oldest child coming out in me…controlling and bossy).
    sharon @ mrs. hines class

  41. Hi Cyndi,
I love your blog too… and “visit” daily 🙂 I’m a stay at home Mommy…. we have 2 precious children, a 5year old son and 3 1/2 year old daughter. I dread our little guy’s first day of Kindergarten with alll my heart! I am verry busy with them, going to play groups, parks, doing crafts and relishing all my days I have at home with them 🙂 I am blessed with a Godly, wonderful, handsome husband and we’ll celebrate our 10 year anniversary this year. We are in our 4th home (it’s a joke amongst our friends & family) and love updating and fixing them up …. thanks to your sweet sister’s blog, we’ve learned lots!
I had to giggle when you said you have a belly laugh… I can tell by looking at your biiig smile and your eyes that you have a good, hearty laugh! Would love to sit down for a cup of tea and LINDT!!! chocolate … I follow you all the way from Canada 🙂

    Love you!
    Joy

  42. You’re an absolute doll and Melissa Garrett is right: God is using you through this blog. We’re a blended family in Plano TX with four adult children and 17 grandchildren – so far (14 years to 2 mo)! My daughter has 8 (5 bio 3 adopted), my younger daughter has 6 (5 bio 1 adopted), stepdaughter has 2 and stepson has 1. I worked for 28 years, most recently as an executive suite manager, but took a hiatus a year ago and now eager to get back into the workforce to get out of debt before I retire. I have the joy, joy, joy, joy down in my heart through the saving grace of Jesus Christ! I won’t exercise so lately have been choosing to work in the yard a bit instead. I love bacon, broccoli and brownies, but will eat just about anything. I love what you said about GROW through divorce – fantastic advice. I wish I had known then what I know now about a lot of things and grateful for redemption. Keep up the good work!

  43. Hi Cyndi,
I’m a full- time (4days) RDH, mom of 2 boys,13 and 9. I married my 1st boyfriend, Carlos, 17 years ago. We love home improvement projects and this past winter my hubby gave me my dream kitchen. He did all the work himself. I am truly blessed. I, like you, lost my mom, my best friend, Maria 6 years ago to cancer. I read your blog and your sister’s blog regularly. Thanks for the fun fashion posts.

  44. Cyndi, I am a wife (anniversary next week – 26 years!) and a mother of two (girl, 20, in college and boy, 16, junior in high school) and live in Richmond, VA. I always need to improve in my walk with Jesus, especially in my bible studying. I work part-time now and may work more hours once my son goes to college, as we have made some stupid choices in the past and still have some debt to pay off (ugh, lose sleep sometimes). We are blessed to still have our parents (all 4) around but can see little signs that they really won’t last forever, as much as we’d like 🙂 Love your blog and Tracy’s too!

  45. Hi there, I often read your post but don’t reply, not sure why really. I found Traci’s blog first with one of her diy projects then clicked on your link and saved your page to my fave’s too.
I’m a coffee lover too, the world needs me to have it too! Chocolate I love but not first thing, or with coffee. 🙂
I’m 36 years old and mum to 3 sons and 1 daughter, the boys are 18, 13 and 10 and my daughter is 6. I’m the youngest of my dad’s three children, older brother and sister is oldest. Then I have a younger brother too from mum’s 2nd marriage.
I’m divorced and a single mom.
I’m passionate about empowering women, especially young women and girls, I study psychology but for fun I enjoy crafts, cardmaking, scrapbooking etc.
Just under 2 years ago though my daughter was diagnosed with Aplastic Anemia which is bone marrow failure disease. In March last year she was fortunate enough to receive a bone marrow transplant from an anonymous donor (as no family member was a match) so now I am passionate about spreading the word on the importance of giving blood and joining a bone marrow registry. Its a selfless and rather easy thing for a donor to do but it very literally life-saving and as in my daughters sake, the last hope of survival.
I enjoy reading your posts of which its obvious how passionate you are about your faith and your family.
    I live in Somerset, England.
    Angie

  46. Cyndi, I stop by everyday but don’t always comment. You have been a great help to me in finding my way back to God and where I’m supposed to be, as has Traci. The faith you both have especially after losing your mom is inspiring. You have showed me through this little “electronic box” how lucky I am to still have my mom. I pick up the phone more often and I listen more carefully. I hope to move back to be closer to her soon.

Something you might not know…hmmm…I’m trying to start to work out more often. I’ve been doing about 1 hr a week…not enough! It’s so hard to get motivated. I have to kick myself into gear and doing it more often. Another random fact, there is a 20 yr age gap between my husband and I. (It’s ok, I’ll give you time to pick your jaw off the ground.) It’s been an new amazing kind of journey…a different type of marriage with it’s own types of uncertainties about the future. I now know God chose him for me and I finally understand why. I chose to focus on our todays because we’re not guaranteed we’ll be here to see that future.

Way too long of a comment…sorry. Loved learning more about you!

  47. First off I love to come visit your blog everyday. I am a mother of 4 married children. 2 boys 2 girls….. they are soon to be 39,37,34,31 with 11 grandkids under 11! We met at church, both christians, and put for kids through christian schools. We have one son who is a pastor in Milwaukee, Wi. The other son lives in Columbus, Oh and the girls live here in town. My husband still works as a engineer full time and I love being home, gardening, helping the kids and traveling. I owned at one time 3 retail gift and home decor stores for almost 15 years. Closed 5 years ago. Still like going to the wholesale gift shows in Atlanta. My Dad, I asked you to pray for several months ago, he has lung cancer. Pet scan in June to see if the radiiation treatments are working. Please keep him on your prayer list. We have a boat and love going to the lake with our family and friends. Usually always go for a week at the beach with all ours kids and grands. (Florida panhandle, Rosemary, Seaside Beach area) I cherish the times we are all together.
Need to exercise more, eat less, and spend more time on my knees. Keep doing what you do to encourage and posting interesting topics. Oh……and you have a great sister also!

  48. I love your blog, Cyndi!! I read every post but don’t always have time to comment. I am always encouraged through it! God bless you!!

the best thing about my life is my husband!

    Love your blog!

  50. Hey girl! I love reading all about you! 🙂

I also LOVE chocolate. I would GLADLY skip a meal or maybe have a very small meal and they have a giant dessert, chocolate of course. I also love kids, have four of my own and we are children’s pastors. I love to laugh and smile, but I know that I do not do it enough. I do exercise, zumba three times a week, but with the chocolate obsession, I am still not losing the weight I need/want to {sigh}.

    Have a great day!

  54. Hi Jackie!
So glad you stopped by and shared a little about yourself! I’m not going to the Haven conference. 🙁
I know I would love it but I didn’t really want to spend my money on the ticket, especially since I’m not a DIY blogger. Sooo many of my friends are going and of course my sister.
I might just come and stay in the room with you! 🙂
    Have a great day!
    Cyndi

    Cyndi

  61. Hi Cyndi! It was so nice to learn more about you. I follow you on Fb. I love your blog and your sis’ too. I’m sorry that you lost your precious mother. She sounds like she was such a wonderful person. She would be (and is) so proud of her daughters. You are such a beautiful woman, filled with beauty, grace, hospitality, style, and genuine love for our Lord. It radiates from you. I am a mom of 3 blessings. I have been homeschooling for 20 years. We graduate our 2nd daughter next month. I love to read blogs and cook in my free time. Keep up the style tips too! Us 40 plus girls need all the help we can get!
Blessings in Christ! Lisa in Ca

  62. Hi Linda!
Thanks so much for stopping by. I read your random facts you wrote on your post and I loved them! Especially the I never go anywhere without makeup! I’m so with you girl!
I love meeting women through blogs too!! God is so good!
    Blessings,
    Cyndi

  63. Hi Cyndi. Thanks for sharing. I’m about to turn 53 (gulp) and I’ve been a single mom for about 22 years now. (My daughter is 25 and I’m an empty-nester). I’m an administrative assistant at an university outside of Philadelphia. B/c i’m single, I’m kind of a cross between you and your sister. I love being a girly-girl and my nick name is diva – but I also do a lot of DIY b/c I can’t afford to pay someone else to do it. I can’t wait to get home every day to see my two fur-babies. I too have lost someone – my dad about 3 years ago. I also have a mom who is very disabled who lives nearby. I have way too many hobbies and not enough time to devote to them. And I consider myself so very blessed. Linda

  64. Thank you Kristi! and thanks for stopping by. I have never been to Murray State. It’s pretty far from here. One of our friends son went there and loved it! We had two in college at the same time too, not easy!
Thanks again for stopping by and have a great day!
    Cyndi

  65. It’s so nice to meet you!! Thank you for stopping by and sharing a little about yourself. I’m sorry about your divorce, especially that it’s been messy. I think most of them are~mine was, although it’s been over 20 years ago. I read a book when I was going through my divorce and it said, “You can GO through divorce, or you can GROW through divorce”. I loved that quote and tried to learn and grow from my divorce.
    Thanks again for stopping by,
    Cyndi

  66. Nice to meet you! 🙂 I am the baby of my family; my sister is 16 years older than me! I have been married to my wonderful husband for 7 1/2 years! He is in the ministry as well. He is a youth pastor! I teach the Teen Sunday School class. We have one son who is going to be 5 soon! We are praying/hoping/believing God for a daughter! (I am actually already preparing for her! I’m trying my best to put my faith in action!) I love coffee too! I know this will sound weird, but if you give me a choice of a sweet snack or a salty one, I will go for the salty one 99% of the time! If I have a sweet snack, I have to have a salty one after it because I cannot leave a sweet taste in my mouth! I don’t know why! I love to decorate my home. I found you through Traci’s blog!

    God bless!

  67. Hi Cindi! I am married for 14 years this is my 2nd marriage, and the greatest. I have one son and 2 grandsons, one is 19 and the other is 2, I know really spread apart, but it is really fun that way. I am retilred from 3M after 37 years and enjoying every minute. I LOVE my Christ!

  68. I too am a first born child. Have an August birthday. Lost my dad 10 years ago~he and his twin were the ushers at our church, he was also a deacon and the janitor/grounds keeper. I am married to my best friend for almost 23 years (July 1) am a mother of 3, 2 daughters, 1 son and grandmother of 2 precious little boys (expecting our 3rd in November =D) I live in Joy (we call it our happy place) I am a homemaker on the verge of a career and I am a follower of Christ ~saved by his amazing grace and so grateful for His mercy each day. Would like to know why someone doesn’t just make chocolate coffee ? I really enjoy your blog.
    Blessings

  69. Hi there! I comment mostly on your sister’s blog and she likes my email address (because I love Jimmy Buffett)! I am scared to dive into blogging although I have started a blog over a year ago. (Holding head down, now). I am going to Haven and will cling on your sister because I know NO ONE. I warned her. I hope you are going too! I have my own room there and would be willing to share it (my treat) to get to know someone there! I am old. I am exactly to the day (same birthday) ten years older than your sister. I have four children (11, 14, 22, 27) and now have the opportunity to stay at home. Now you know something about me and I would love to meet you at Haven! I live in the Chicago area and have always wanted to drive to the Ballard’s outlet in Ohio too! I’ve worn my hair like yours (even do the poufy thing at the crown) for years and just recently grew it out longer. So nice to meet you Cyndi! (And that funny slash above in the first line does not appear in my text and I’ve tried to fix it like ten times!!!)

  70. I am glad you shared more about you. Maybe it should be a regular feature where you just tell us random things about yourself. I found you through your sister’s blog, and I love both of you! You can tell you would both be fun to hang out with. I have 3 great kids and 3 precious grandkids. I’ve been married to the man of my dreams for 29 years and feel blessed to live a simple, ordinary life. I love all things to do with home(just like your sis) and I’m interested in learning more about fashion and beauty(like you). I love to laugh and have fun! I don’t drink coffee but we could definitely share some chocolate! And I won’t hold it against you that you Kentucky beat my beloved Jayhawks! ( I was born in Kentucky, so if someone else had to win it might as well have been them.)

  71. I visit your blog often but never comment :/ I love reading all of your wonderful posts and how they always come full circle (start with God and end with God)! And I always love the ‘more about me’ posts! It’s a great way of getting to know someone 🙂

  72. Well we have met each other in real life so you may know as much about me as you ever wanted. 🙂 I love this post…you are so good at showing your heart through your blog. Thanks for being so real. Lisa~

  73. Hi Cyndi,
I check your blog often and always leave feeling encouraged. I am your sister-in-Christ! About 7 years ago God interveined in my marriage and things have never been the same! Praise the Lord! I am 30, have 4 kids (2 girls 2 boys), live in East Texas, stay at home with my kids, have a teaching degree, have been married 9 years! Have a blessed day!

  74. I love getting to know you a little better, Cyndi! I wish we were closer and could get together for chocolate and coffee! Some day!
You probably already know most of this about me but, I am a mom of four (ages 21 to 5!), wife, self employed, tired (haha!), sometimes silly, follower of Christ.
Glad that we are friends 🙂

  75. Hi Cyndi!! First and foremost I am a sinner saved by grace. I have a wonderful husband, 2 daughter and 6 grandkids! I work with the youth at church and love every minute of it. I stumbled upon your blog and have been here everyday since. I read a lot of blogs, but yours is my fav. because it is from a wife, mother and grandmother. Thanks for the encouragement you send out. God is using you in this blog. Melissa

  76. I think you are fun and fabulous! And I liked learning a few fun facts about you Cyndi.
The last blog post I did had 11 random facts about me. Maybe you will have time to hop on over. (:>)
Blogging is such fun. We get to make friends with awesome Christian ladies who otherwise we would never meet. What can be better than that? (:>)

    Have a fantastic day!
    Linda @ Truthful Tidbits

  77. I really enjoy your posts. I have 2 daughters at Murray State, but we visited WKU. It is a beautiful school!

  78. Im glad to know a little more about you, I follow you on Twitter, but think this might be my first visit to your blog. A little about me, since you asked: I’m a firstborn child with one younger brother, Im a mom to four kids: 3 girls and 1 boy. Im in the middle of an ugly, messy divorce but am grateful that it’s almost over, I am a Christian, and I’m a freelance writer.
