Fall Fashion Trends Week-The Ankle Boot

Today I’m skipping What I Wore (I hope you don’t mind) to continue with Fall Fashion Week. The trend today is the ankle boot.

This trend is a little tricky and I know some of you are thinking it’s not for you but hang with me and hopefully you might change your mind. Ankle boots are going to be everywhere this fall/winter season.

I found a couple of outfits on Pinterest that I like with ankle boots.

These boots have a high heel but you could always get a pair with a shorter heel. Very cute!

These boots are adorable!

I pinned this picture because I have these boots. I might be able to copy this look.

So who can wear ankle boots?

If you’re tall, you’re in luck—for the most part: Ankle boots will look great on you.

If you’re short: Pair your ankle boots with tights, leggings or pants that are the same color as the boot to create the longest line possible. Ankle boots visually chop you off at the ankle so be aware of this.

If you’re a plus size: Go for a monochromatic look on the bottom to slim and lengthen your silhouette. Wear boots with an a-line dress that is made with a body skimming fabric and hits just above the knee.

Also, below-the-knee and long skirts don’t work with ankle boots no matter what your body type.

So, what do you think of the ankle boot? Will you be wearing them this fall?

Beauty For the Heart~~As Christians, we should be so enamored with God and His word that we just can’t shut up about it. Matthew 5:13-16 says, You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

Have a blessed day!

  1. Hi Cyndi,

I just came across your blog through a pin on Pinterest–added it to my reader. I love the ankle boot style and think they look terrific with cable tights; just waiting for it to cool off a bit here in Chicagoland. I just posted an ankle boots feature on my blog about comfortable, stylish shoes for women 🙂

  2. Kim I got them at Target last year. I’m sure they will have some like them again this year. Mine have a high heel wedge and I nearly killed myself in them one time. It makes me laugh every time I think about it. I’m so graceful!!
    Blessings,
    Cyndi

  3. I really like the look of ankle boots, but have shied away from them because of my short stature and short legs. Thanks for the tips for short women. I can now visualize myself wearing an ankle boot! Thank Cyndi, be belssed!

  4. Hey Cyndi! I LOVE the ankle boots & plan on getting some for this fall/winter. My only problem is that my ankles are pretty small so almost every boot I try on has quite a bit of space left around my ankle…they don’t fit snug around my ankle/leg. (Does that make sense?) Do you think that looks okay? I don’t want them to look like they’re too big on me. Thanks for the input….have a wonderful day!!
