{Day 29}10 Things in 10 Minutes Take Off Ten Years

What a month! We’ve learned a lot about fashion & beauty for women over 40. Now it’s time to summarize what we’ve learned. Today it’s 10 things you can do in the next 10 minutes to take off 10 years (from How Not to Look Old by Charla Krupp).

1. Pick Pink for your Pout. I use Revlon ColorStay Lipcolor in Iconic Iris. I also use a clear lipgloss over it.

2. Arch your Eyebrows Upward.

3. Cover gray brow hairs with pencil and powder. I use my brown eyeshadow to fill in my eyebrows. This is the exact eye shadow I’m using right now and I fill my eyebrows in with the darker brown.

4. Slim down your eyeliner. Several have asked what eyeliner I’m using right now. I’m using L’Oreal Infallible Never Fail eyeliner in brown. It doesn’t smudge!

5. Falsify a few lashes. (This one I don’t do.)

6. Don’t outline your lips with dark eyeliner. This is a no-no!

7. Lighten up on the foundation and powder.

8. Unchain your reading glasses.

9. Lose the suit. Switch up the pieces instead.

10. Slip on heels or high-heeled boots.

Most of these are quick and easy fixes but can make you look years younger.

Do you think this is a pretty easy list? How do you think you’re doing with this checklist?

I love to chat on facebook, you can follow me on facebook here, I also love to add things to my pinterest boards and if you’d like to follow some of my pictures throughout the day, you can follow me on Instagram.

Beauty For the Heart~~Thankfully our past mistakes don’t have to define us. Psalm 103:11-12 says, For his unfailing love toward those who fear him is as great as the height of the heavens above the earth. He has removed our sins as far from us as the east is from the west. We are forgiven!

  1. Just found your website and have really enjoyed. I am well over 40 though (60 this year) and would like to ask what type of eyeliner I might use that will go on smoothly. I found pencils to not work too well because the skin on my eyelids is a tad crepe-y. Any suggestions?

  2. First, I have to say that looking at your pictures, I would NEVER know you were over 40. I love this list. I don’t wear much makeup, just a bit of concealer, mascara and one of those stay-put lipsticks that is the same shade as my lips…and occasionally (rarely) eyeliner. It is quick to apply, but enough that I feel pulled together when I look in the mirror throughout the day. I also don’t wear foundation or powder at all because I can’t stand the way it feels or looks. I am starting to get wrinkles around my eyes and I know powder and foundation are supposed to fill them in, but for me I feel they just emphasize them, so I leave it off (I am fortunate to have fairly clear and even skin, so I don’t “need” it yet). I don’t wear heels, though I would LOVE to invest in a cute pair of “high” heeled boots this winter, if they are high enough to be fashionable, but low enough that I don’t have to worry about balance or foot cramps. (I imagine nothing would age me more than a broken foot for falling off my high heeled shoes)

  3. 8. Unchain your reading glasses.

I’ve resisted the chain (I hate the look) but what do people do with their reading glasses? I am constantly making myself ccrazy looking for my glasses. I do have them all over the house, but they seem to ‘walk’ and I’m forever looking for where I left them. Women’s clothing is not well equipped for this (no pockets!).
Any ideas? I’d love to hear a few!

  4. Oh Cyndi, sometimes I am thick as a brick! I clicked on the Amazon below the products I inquired about and it took me right to them. Sorry for my silliness. Now you know what my family puts up with!

  5. Hi Cyndi, what a great little checklist this is for some quick anti-aging tips. I’m pretty close to the list, save for a few items. Does the Iconic Iris lean more toward a pink or purple color and the brow powder you’re using, what color is it? If you have a minute to answer this, great! If you don’t, no worries, I’ll find something close enough. Have a blessed Monday!
