My Favorite IPhone Apps

My Favorite IPhone Apps

I’m veering off the fashion path today (which is healthy at times) to share some of my favorite iphone apps with you and they’re all free!

I’ll be very honest and tell you I have an addiction to my iphone. There I said it, it’s the first step. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not on it every second of the day but I do love using it.

So with out further ado here are the apps I use the most often:

1. Instagram

My favorite iphone apps
I’m guessing most of you are familiar with Instagram. It’s a fastbeautiful and fun way to share your photos with friends and family and I love it and use it all the time.

I think it’s a great way to get to know people better through pictures. I absolutely love scrolling through the people I follow to see what they’re up to. It’s just fun!

If you’d like to follow me on Instagram just click here.

You will see pictures of this little guy on there!

2. moreBeaute2

My sister recently introduced me to another app that we both really like! It’s kind of cheating with your pictures but when you’re 40 something it’s kind of nice to have a little help. 🙂 Some of you will love me for sharing this!

It’s called moreBeaute2. moreBeaute is a FREE photo editing application designed for iPhone/iPod/iPad. It brightens, lightens your skin tone and smoothes your skin in just 2 easy steps, no make-up skills needed!

I snapped this of my sister and I using the app. Obviously neither of us have quite that smooth of skin, I was just trying it out and you can adjust it so it’s not that bright. But it’s fun to play with. You can thank me later!!

morebeaute2

One more tip about taking photos on instagram or morebeaute2, it’s best to shoot with the camera angling down toward your face. See how Traci and I are looking up?  Never hold it below and snap from below your chin, not. a. good. angle.

3. Daily Bible Devotion

Daily Bible Devotion gives you daily devotionals and Bible verses that are inspirational, easy to understand and grows your relationship with God.

I have several Daily devotional apps but this is one of my favorite. It’s short and simple. Although I do other devotions at home, I love having this one on my phone. If I’m sitting somewhere waiting, I love to pull this up and read a devotion.

I have more apps I love but I’ll share them another day.

What about you? I’d love to know your favorite apps! Please share them with all of us!

Have a blessed day!

  1. Cyndi, I just found your site, and really appreciate the information and the way you share it. 🙂 One of my favorte apps is MyFitnessPal. Recommended by my Dr. It helps me stay on track with calories and is so easy!! God bless you. -MJ

  2. Great idea to share favorite apps. My son told me about DropBox. You can store and share all your pictures email and docs on all your devices without taking up space on any of them. I am addicted to my iPad. Just like my phone but easier on these older eyes. I love that anything I put on my phone goes on my iPad too and vice versa. I use Google Shopper and a bar code scanner app to scan bar codes. In the store of an item to see if another is selling it cheaper and I scan bar codes on items at home ( mostly grocery items) when I can’t remember where I got an item. Google will tell you what local stores sell the item and how much.

  3. I too {heart} my iPhone! Can’t live without it! So many neat apps out there! My favs are the Flashlight (can’t live without it on those trips to the potty at night! lol rolling eyes!) PicFrame is fun! 1000 Gifts & YouVersion Bible to name a few! And even though it comes already installed on the iPhone I love “notes” the virtual sticky-note! 🙂 Thanks Cyndi & everyone who posted above me..some apps I’ve never heard of and def need to go check out! How Fun! Have an appy day!

  4. I am going to look into the moreBeaute2 app!
    Some of my favorite apps:
    * Shazam – This is so fun! If you hear a song on the radio or in a restaurant, you “shazam” it and it gives you the name of the song and artist. My dd and I used it a lot over the holiday season to see who was singing on the radio (a 40’s channel).
    * DocsToGo – I can have Word documents and Excel documents on my phone. I use this to carry medical information (Word) and our family’s library list (Excel) on my phone. So when we are at a conference or at HPB (Half Price Books), I can check to see if we have a certain book. It has been wonderful!
    * BibleGateway – To read a passage in various versions.
    * Fighter Verses – Out of Bethlehem Baptist Church to aid in Scripture memorization. They have a 5 year weekly memory verse system, or specify which verses you wish to memorize. There are 4 different types of quizzes to aid in memorization (quick blanks, type first letter of the word, etc.). There are 5 levels in each type of quiz. After doing all those, you will have the Scripture memorized.
    * Hobby Lobby – I no longer have to worry about clipping the coupon, which I seldom remembered to do. Now the coupon is always with me.
    * And of course, FB and Pinterest.

  5. I am an iPhone addict too and not a recovering one! LOL! I I love Instagram, my Bible app, Facebook (of course) and Pinterest. 🙂

  6. LOVE your blog and the variety you offer while maintaining focus on what really matters – a personal relationship with our Savior.

To add to the list – CARDSTAR – free app for iphone that is similar to Keyring.
Scans your loyalty cards so we can eliminate those 15 or so cards.

Also, if you have local Hobby Lobby – Hobby Lobby has great app – use it for your 40% off coupon at the register. Bye Bye clipping 🙂

  7. Oh thank you Cynthia! I try to keep my word limit between 300 to 400 words. 🙂
I don’t like reading loooong blog posts. I was going to share a few more apps but realized I was at my limit.
Thanks so much for stopping by!
    Blessings,
    Cyndi

  8. LOL… I had to laugh….I’m addicted to my iphone too. There, I confessed too 🙂 thanks for the devotion app, I’m going to add that one. I saw your Bible app and I have the same one. I also like Bible.is try it, you make like it better. That photo looks great of you and your sister! awesome Have a blessed day 🙂

  9. I also have the Galaxy (S II), and I am hooked on:
~ Eyewitness (interesting and beautiful daily pics from around the world)
    ~ Gas Buddy
~ Square (the app is now called Register, for processing credit cards)
    ~ Translate
And I absolutely LOVE using my bank’s mobile banking app to eliminate trips to the bank to make deposits!

Thanks for your wonderful blog, Cyndi. I appreciate that you give us quick tips and an easy read each day that does not take forever to load or read. The amount of content is always just right, and I love that you always end it on a spitirual note! Keep up the good work!

  10. I have the Samsung Galaxy S III phone…here are a few that I really like:
    * Pandora
    * YouVersion Bible
    * Key Ring – in this app, you scan all your store loyalty & membership cards (that are usually on your key ring or cluttering your wallet). All that info is at your fingertips and can be scanned at the store without all the extra bulk. It also shows you the special offers for those places with just a click.
