Simply Sunday-Hold Me

My husband took this picture of Colt with his Iphone. It’s not the best picture or the best quality but this is what Colt does all the time now.

Simply Sunday

He stands right in front of you, puts his hands up in the air and opens and closes his fingers. He’s saying, “I need you to hold me!”

It’s the most precious thing and there’s no way we can say no to him. So we pick him up and we hold him, we tell him how much we love him and we squeeze him real tight.

When I was looking at this picture it reminded me of Matthew 18:2-6, “Jesus called a little child to him and put the child among them. Then he said, “I tell you the truth, unless you turn from your sins and become like little children, you will never get into the Kingdom of Heaven. So anyone who becomes as humble as this little child is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven.

Don’t we need to come to our Heavenly Father the same way Colt comes to us? Just humbling ourselves and admitting we need Him.

It’s easy to think that we can do things on our own but deep down inside we have a need for a Savior and I’m so thankful when I lift my hands up that he’s there to hold me and comfort me.

Have a blessed Sunday!

  1. What a sweet face, one of an angel. I rec’d an iphone picture today of my 3 yr. old granddaughter sitting on the kitchen counter mixing cake dough with her Mommy. She was wearing a dress and her tiara. I thought, “what innocence”. Little ones, so dependent on Mommy and Daddy, little creatures of perfection, they’re so unaware of how close they are to the Lord. How wonderful if we could become so innocent, so dependent on our Lord and so aware of how easy it could be to become that close to our Lord. “Follow the children….” Be blessed!

  2. Today was our youngest grandson Seth’s dedication. What a privilege to was to view my husband as he officiated over the service in which included the reading of Matthew 18:2-6.
Earlier I was talking to one of my daughters about her son Ethan(#2) when he was little coming to us and saying “I want to hold you” when he wanted us to pick him up to hold.
Your blog today was very timely to me.

  3. What a wonderful song! Thank you for posting it. I have not heard it before. The LORD definitely holds us through the storms. Isaiah 46:4

  4. What a cutie! How could you resist? lol I surely believe that we are to BE like children, not Act like children. Have a Blessed Day!

  5. So true! He is adorable, Nicholas does this too, I watch him this Thursday and can’t wait, I haven’t seen him for about two weeks since I wasn’t allowed to lift anything for a week.

  6. Oh my gosh did that picture bring back memories. My son used to do that too, he’s almost 27 years old, seems like just yesterday. Thanks for the memory, have a wonderful day.

  7. This is a beautiful example of the innocence of a child and how we all should be like that. The Lord is there to hold us if we just open our arms to Him. Colt is so cute! My son use to always reach up and say ” I need hold you”! It was so adorable and of course you can’t resist. We all need someone to hold us.
