How I Add Volume To My Hair

How I Add Volume To My Hair

It’s no secret that I like volume when it comes to my hair. I blame it on being a teenager in the 80s! Thankfully I have left the curly permed hair behind!

I’ve recently found a product that I like as well as the Aquage Uplifting Foam. It’s Aveda Volumizing Tonic and it does a great job of adding volume to my hair.

I like the smell, and the way it feels in my hair. It doesn’t leave any sticky residue and works great on fine to medium hair.

Here’s what I do:

  • I lift sections of my hair near the crown and spray Volumizing Tonic to the scalp area.
  • Then I use a round brush, blow dryer and hands to enhance the volume.

It’s not easy to take pictures of the back of your hair but I tried!

This product can be found at a lot of salons so it should be easy to find. If you like a little volume you might want to give it a try!

Do you have a favorite hair product? Have you tried Aveda Volumizing Tonic?

  1. Aquage is great! I have used mousse, gel, oils, sprays and nothing comes close to working as we’ll as this does! Thanks for the great tutorial and recommendation!!
    Now…tell me about false eyelashes!!!

  2. I’m a product of the 80’s also! I LOVE big hair!! Yeah! I am going to try this! I have tried lots of your suggestions on new products and have loved everything so far. Have a great evening!

  3. Hi Cyndi, I have just the opposite problem. My hair is so think and voluminous (not in a good way) that I have to have it seriously thinned out every 3 months. I do have an Aveda product that I cannot live without. It is their Brilliantine non-humectant styling gel. Since my hair is so thick, it does best when I wear very short with bangs. I use the Brilliantine when I finish styling just to add some shine, hold down the volume and to piece out my bangs. Your hair is so pretty, I would be all thumbs trying to style my hair like yours, especially the back. You have an excellent haircut! (I should have known) 🙂

  4. I was part of the 80’s too… So yes I enjoy volume as well :). I think I’ll give it a try
    Thx Cyndi

  5. Thanks for the tip. My hair is so thin that I am sensitive to and always notice other peoples hair! In fact, your nice thick hair is what I appreciated the most the first time I saw your fun blog. I plan to dash right out and try this product tomorrow!
