What I Wore-My Style

Happy Wednesday! Every Wednesday I share What I Wore-My Style.

It’s geared for women over 40 (since I’m over 40!) because we sometimes struggle with what to wear at our age. We don’t want to dress like a teenager but we also don’t want to dress like we’re old, whatever old is. 🙂

I hope you’re having a good week and you’re feeling some spring weather. It’s beautiful here in KY! My outfit is definitely inspired with warmer weather in my mind. I pulled out my white pants!

Black and white is a fashion trend this spring and I know I’m going to love it! I’m sharing two photos of the same outfit with different shoes. I couldn’t decide if I wanted to wear sandals or flats with my outfit.

I ended up wearing the black flats. For some reason I thought it might look too summery with the sandals. Oh well!

So have you pulled out your white pants yet? What about your sandals?

Beauty For the Heart~~A few Sundays ago I share a song called, Lord I Need You. I love this song but last night I heard it again and a phrase stood out to me.

Where sin runs deep Your grace is more
Where grace is found is where You are

Can I share with you that my sin runs deep! But I’m so thankful that grace abounds! (I’ve shared my testimony here.) It occurred to me that maybe someone reading my blog might think that they’ve done too much, their sin runs too deep but let me assure you that there’s nothing that you have done that His grace can’t cover.

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.”

Have a blessed day!

  1. Hey Kimba!! So good to hear from you! I didn’t know we had similar stories but would love to sit and chat.
Believe me, I have to be reminded of His grace too. He is so faithful!!
    Blessings,
    Cyndi

  2. I have never owned a pair of white pants. They scare me. LOL I’m so afraid of ruining them or spilling or getting them dirty. And I have bad memories of a girl in 6th grade who was wearing white shorts at an outside PE day when she started for the first time and obviously everyone noticed because of the white pants. I still feel her embarrassment and haven’t ever been able to wear white pants because of that memory.

And perhaps it’s kind of like the sin you spoke of. We get an image of our sinfulness in our minds and can’t seem to forgive ourselves the way Christ has said He already did. We hang onto that shame like it’s that 6th grad memory. Well, God is teaching me so much about grace and my Godly identity these days. Perhaps it’s time to buy a pair of white pants!!

  3. Hello sweet girl! I have come by here so many times and not commented. But I have to tonight. Of course, I love your beautiful outfit…but even more, I love your reminder about the perfect covering of grace. I still need a reminder now and then. Your words spoke to my heart. Thank you.

I can’t believe I’ve never read your testimony before, but I’m so glad I did. Our stories are similar in many ways. I hope we get a chance to sit together and chat again someday.

Thank you for being who God made you to be. ♥♥♥

  4. I’m so glad I have some best friends in Virginia!! 🙂 Thanks so much for stopping by and you made me laugh! If you’re ever in Ky let me know and we can do lunch!
    Blessings,
    Cyndi

  5. Hi Cyndi.

Love that sweater! I don’t remember seeing that in your fix, but maybe I did! lol My memory isn’t too great these days. 🙂 You look lovely in the black and white, and I think the flats look great.

    Have a great Thursday!

  6. Hey Cyndi,
Thanks for the spring inspiration. I loved the black and white sweater with the flats. I’m so happy I found you and have enjoyed your blogs and scriptures. I’m 53 and like keeping up with fashion and not looking like teenager. Looking forward to more of your blogs. From the sunny state of Florida!:)

  7. I really like the geometric sweater with the white pants, so chic looking. I would have chosen the black flats as well, they just seem to complete the outfit more seamlessly. Cyndi, thank you for sharing your testimony of sin and your renewed relationship with Jesus. I could not even bear to write the words let alone say them of the sin in my past life. I love my Lord and I know that He has forgiven me and has taken me into His flock. My problem is that I find His forgiveness so hard to accept because I’ve not been able to forgive myself. I then realize that in and of itself is a form of sin. I continue in prayer unceasing and the words of Scripture to help me toward accepting the forgiveness of God, because I know until then, I will never be free.

  8. I love the outfit and agree, the sandals mimic the geometric pattern of the sweater. I wore white pants yesterday with a white tee and black drape sweater and black flats. Funny thing is I felt odd wearing white pants before Memorial day! Guess I’m showing my “over 50” age! lol. I ended up choosing a black purse so I felt I was co-ordinated and not breaking any seasonal rules! LOL

  9. No white pants or skirts yet but the toes are peeking out now!! Love your site – still wrapping my mind around the “no nude hose” – I look like Casper and can’t afford to do the spray tan thing!!

  10. I like the flats best. If you pushed the sweater sleeves up then I think the sandals would work. I enjoy your blog. My girlfriend and I call you our new best friend. We call each other to say, “Did you see what our new best friend was talking about or wearing today?” We are glad to see the boots go for now!!! We would love to meet you for lunch if you are ever visiting Virginia!

  11. I’m not over 40, just a bit over 30, but I love your blog! I think you made the right choice with the shoe. I feel it still looks springy and better balances your top since it is a sweater and a long sleeve one at that.
I was going to pull out my white pants for church onus day but I chickened out! Now I certainly will!

  12. I just signed up for stitchfix…..well I guess I am on the waiting list. I wanted to try to give you credit cause I know you get $25 of credit but I couldn’t figure out how/where. Hopefully when they take me off the waiting list and I officially sign up I can. I love the black and white sweater!!!

  13. Love the outfit today and I love the flats. You are so inspiring to me and I just want you to know that I enjoy the fashion advice you give each day but I most enjoy the scripture or just the simple words about Christ that you give to your blog followers. I am so thankful for his grace and that He covers me each day with His love. Thanks Cyndi and have a wonderful day.

  14. I love that cardigan! Such a great print! I also love your coconut body scrub post; I LOVE coconut oil! I have done many posts on it but I have never tried the body scrub. It’ll be next on my “to try” list! Found you at the Pleated Poppy linkup! You have a new follower! 🙂

  15. Great Graphic sweater! Black and white is something that is always in but thanks to the fashion industry for reminding us! I never packed my white jeans away! Yes dressing after 40 is a unique challenge, but a fun was as well!

  16. You look lovely as usual. I think the flats were the right choice for now.
Cyndi, grace flows from your blog, and I love reading it. And by the way, I can see why you love the song. Great truth there. Have a blessed day!

  17. As it warms up, go with the sandal. I love how the geometric shape on the top of your foot mimics the pattern in your cardi! I am a newer follower, Cyndi, and I appreciate your genuine personality, classic fashion sense and unapologetic witness. Thanks for the spring inspiration this morning; we are dealing with an ice storm where I am deciding what to wear today!

  18. I love black and white, so I’ll fit right in this Spring. I have worn my white pants a couple of times now. The flats would have been my choice too.
