My Skin Care Routine

My Skin Care Routine

Taking care of my skin is important to me. I’m definitely seeing signs of aging but that goes with being forty something. I will occasionally try different products but consistently this is my skin care routine.

My Skin Care Routine
I know there are thousands of expensive products out there that promise to make me look years younger but Olay has great products that fit in my budget.

I use this gentle skin cleanser in the shower (it’s the generic for Cetaphil). I also use Dermalogica daily microfoliant in the shower, I love this stuff!

Before I put my makeup on I use Olay eye lifting serum and Olay Regenerist cream with SPF 30. I want to make sure I’m protecting my face from the sun.

My Skin Care Routine

At night I use Neutrogena cleaning towelettes to remove my makeup. I use the Olay eye lifting serum or the Olay regenerist intensive repair treatment under my eyes.

Lastly, I use Olay Regenerist night resurfacing elixir on my face and neck. I really like this product and I think it helps to firm and tighten my skin.

Have you tried any Olay products? What is your favorite skin care products?

**Olay did not pay me to write this post, this is just what I use and like.

Beauty For the Heart~~“Though my natural instinct is to wish for a life free from pain, trouble, and adversity, I am learning to welcome anything that makes me conscious of my need for Him. If prayer is birthed out of desperation, then anything that makes me desperate for God is a blessing.” -Nancy Leigh DeMoss

Have a blessed day!

  1. Ladies, when you are choosing a sunscreen you want to choose one that has zinc oxide, the SPF number is no as important as the content of zinc. I work in a dermatologist office and we like Elta MD! I cleanse with Cerave and my Clarsonic!

  2. Olay products are actually some of the best for my skin. I have hard-to-buy for skin – huge pores, easily overly oily or easily too dry. It’s very fickle. But Olay products work great for me. I got the Dermalogica exfoliant in a Birchbox last year and Love it. I’ve made the sample size last a long time but it’s almost time to get a full size.

  3. I used to use a high end skin care product routine. My skin always looked very good with this program. When my husband lost his job, I tried to find as many ways as I could to help cut corners. I tried the Aveeno skin care line and was very impressed with how well it performed and how my skin responded to it. Now, It’s all I would ever use. Funny how we sometimes find the best treasures when we think we are sacrificing.

  4. How do you compare the Neutragena face wipes to the Walgreens brand that you mentioned in a previous post? I really like the Walgreens brand and I was using the Neutragena brand but it didn’t look like your packaging.

  5. It looks like I must be the only one using the generic (Walmart) version of the Olay product! I actually prefer the skin firming cream knock-off better.
I use all sorts of things, but always include Curel with ceramides, Renuva CEster/DMAE/AlphLipoicAcid creme during the day,and RetinA and Perlop’s Concha de Nacar at night, in addition to the the first two. I call it layering! 🙂 If I’m feeling like I need some extra help, I’ll add Demarest Psoriasis cream because it has 2% salicylic acid and many wonderful ingredients. Their eczema cream also has 3 different ceramides, but I’ve never tried it. If I remember and have time, I’ll use Perlop’s Blanqueador Cream masque to help with those nasty spots I like to call “freckles”.
I’ve never washed my face in the morning, but usually just use warm water and a face cloth followed by a quick rinse with vinegar or lemon juice. I figure it helps keep my acid mantle intact. Wow, I just shared all my beauty secrets. CTD

  6. I think I just might try some of your products shown. I actually like the smell of the OOO serums.I also use face wipes, I find it easier. I use L’oreal age perfector spf 15 in the morning and a generic cream at night. I’ve always used some kind of lotion on my neck since I was 30.( remember to always massage upwards! My mom, bless her soul, always told me that! lol ) I’ve noticed the pores on my chin lessening. Thank you, as always, for sharing, Cyndi !

  7. I am going to have to make me a list of these products and check them out. I use Mary Kay products. Love them but sometimes my pocketbook does not let me get them when I need them. I am going to check Oil of Olay this weekend. Thanks for this article.

  8. I recently heard about the oil cleansing method and I want to try it as I am looking for more natural skin care options.

  9. Hi Cyndi.

My mom is 68 years young and swears by Oil of Olay products. She has been a smoker all of her life, and yet her skin looks better than mine! 🙂

I do use an Olay cleanser at night, and derm Exclusive cleanser in the morning. I use a serum and lotion at night formulated by Isomers, and my day products are a serum and collagen lift, which are both derm Exclusive products. I love this product, and it isn’t terribly expensive. It’s probably price comparable to Olay. You can see my page for more info on derm Exclusive if you are interested. http://www.beachbodycoach.com/ghsamia

Keep on doing what you are doing because you are beautiful Cyndi! 🙂

  10. I use Olay Regenerist serum on my face and neck. It has a very rich, silky feel going on and I love the way it smells! I’m a big couponer, so I always wait to get it on sale and with a coupon, since it’s about $20 for a small bottle.

  11. Thanks so much for the product tips. I enjoy hearing what others use. Sometimes I think I get in rut and so it is nice to find out about other and great products!
I’ve used Olay products too and loved them. Great for the skin and good on the pocket book! “wink, wink”

    Blessings!

  12. I used Oil of Olay products from early 20’s to mid 30’s. I then began using Avon products and Love them… I wait for a sale and then stock up. I did love Oil of Olay and only changed because I began selling Avon, but never returned as I love the sales…

  13. Have not tried any of these yet. My beauty routine needs some help! Thanks for sharing and for the Beauty for the heart, just what I really needed to be reminded of today. Blessings, Pam

  14. Hi Cyndi, I use and really like Olay products as well! I once heard that you should spend more of your skin care budget on products that will stay on all day/night and less on those that you rinse down the sink. In other words more for creams, sun screens and moisturizers less on cleansers. It made since to me. Again, thank you for your Beauty for the heart thoughts! Blessings! Krista

  15. Have you heard of Birchbox? It’s a really fantastic way to try out products you might not otherwise find. Through Birchbox I have found my favorite product ever, which is Vasanti’s Enzymatic Exfoliator. It has dermatologist-grade microdermabrasion crystals in it and really does the job. It makes my skin tight and smooth and I love it.
