Let’s Add Color To Our Fall Wardrobe!

Welcome to Day 24 (what, are you kidding?) of my 31 Days of Fall Fashion & Beauty Tips!

31 Days of Fall Fashion & Beauty Tips
For several days, we’ve been building your fall wardrobe. We’ve added basic pieces that can be worn throughout the fall/winter season. Today, we’re adding color to our fall wardrobe!

There are several things to consider when adding color to your wardrobe.

  • What colors look good on you?
  • What are the “trendy” colors for the season?
  • Pick colors that work well with each other such as burgundy and navy, green and coral etc.

This is an all black outfit. It’s a great look but if I’m not careful, I can wear black or gray everyday.

Adding colors to your wardrobe is fun and you can wear your colored pieces with your basic wardrobe pieces to mix and match different outfits.

Pick bright colors like this yellow sweater to help with the dreary months ahead!

Do you like to add color to your fall/winter wardrobe?  Or do you wear a lot of black and gray?

Beauty For the Heart~~You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies. You honor me by anointing my head with oil. My cup overflows with blessings. Psalm 23:5 (New Living Translation)

As I was reading this verse this morning, my cup overflows with blessings, popped out at me. It reminded me of my Mom because she always said my cup runneth over. But it also reminded me that no matter what we’re going through, we CAN find blessings. If we do, I bet our cup will overflow!

Have a blessed day friends!

  1. I tend to have more neutral colors in my clothes and shoes, but add some color with scarves or sometimes a shirt under a sweater, plus jewelry.

  2. Hi Cyndi.

I am guilty of being the “all black” girl! 🙂 I love, love, love black. It is so chic, in my opinion and also slenderizing. 🙂 I have been trying to add in a little color with jewelry, cardigans and even some very thin scarves. I can’t wear thick/chunky scarves because they overpower my body. I love skinny jeans with a black shirt/turtleneck and black boots/heels. Maybe I’ll wear a red belt! lol

You look beautiful, as always! 🙂

  3. Love pops of color on the winter! I love lavender, turquoise, green. I’m a winter, so those colors look best on me.

  4. I like to wear warm colors so black is not the best for me but I do wear it as the basic with warm colors near my face. I am more interested in wearing colors that look good on me than in trendy colors although I look to see if the trends will work. My favourite is the houndstooth skirt with the green sweater. I like coral too and have a couple tops in it. Such great ideas Cyndi!

  5. Yep, I love color! My favorites are green & coral. I love orange (a deeper orange-not too bright) and I have always loved wearing red. I feel very girly in pink, too. 😉 I can’t stand gray, although Pinterest is showing me how to use gray when paired with other great colors, like burgandy- I love how they look together. I still can’t do too much of it though. It’s too depressing for me. Black is good, but needs a pop of color for sure.

  6. Since I am no artist and use fashion as my creative outlet, color is an important part. i am loving cobalt and burgundy along with the ones you’ve posted here. I also love orange for fall and winter. For those not liking color as much adding it in with accessories is a great option. An all black outfit with any colored shoe really shines!

  7. Color just uplifts my mood! Pinks and corals add color to my pale skin in winter. My raincoat is vibrant pink . I like to spread a little color on a rainy day!

  8. I wear alot of basic colors such as black and gray, but wow what a difference wearing a colorful scarf or necklace makes.

  9. My wardrobe basics are black with some gray. I love adding pops of pink (soft & hot pink), royal blue, and purple. I wear these colors in scarves, necklaces, tees and sweaters.
I have greatly been enjoying this series. I got my denim jacket in the mail and am working on figuring out how to wear it with my outfits.

  10. Woot-Woot COLOR !! yeah….. I am a black wearing gal, grey just makes me look dull. Color?? huh oh, I don’t think my wardrobe consists of much color. Lets see, deep maroons, dark navy blues, blacks, few whites & tans. Opppps I think I dooo have a couple brighter colors….two C.E.Schmidt flannel shirts in Turquoise plaid and Pink plaid. I almost forgot, I also have a Snowman sweater cardigan in winter turquoise ! Maybe I just need that POP of bright color added to my collection. Thank you Cyndi for this wonderful fashion tip!
BY the way I love your pop of color with that orange sweater and mint green scarf!
Woo-hoo I have that exact black and white skirt…but never wore color with it – good idea!

  11. This is where I’m really trying to stretch myself. It takes time to plan, though because if I don’t, I’ll just run out of the house in all black all the time.

I love the mint green with the houndstooth skirt. I have a skirt like that and guess what I wear with it … a black turtleneck. haha I’m determined to mix it up!
