My Skin Care Routine Update

***An update on this post. A couple of people commented that I don’t have wrinkles. Maybe I should have smiled in my pictures because then my wrinkles show. I promise I do have crows feet around my eyes.

My Skin Care Routine Update

At the beginning of the year, I started using Rodan+Fields skin care routine. I shared with you that I’m at the stage of my life where I don’t just need to prevent wrinkles, I need to get rid of wrinkles!

So today I’m sharing my skin care routine update with you.

Here’s my before picture~~

Here’s my picture today~~

My Skin Care Routine Update

A couple of things I want to share with you—I didn’t retouch either picture. I used the Redefine skin care system but I didn’t use their multi-function eye cream. I still want to try that product.

I’m not sure why my complexion looks red in the first picture. I have an olive skin complexion. Maybe it helped with redness??

My Skin Care Routine Update

I don’t know that I see a huge difference in wrinkles but I will tell you my skin feels incredibly soft. Even my husband has noticed. My daughter also thinks my skin looks better.

So here is where I am today. I’m going to add the multi-function eye cream and I’m also going to try the AMP MD System.

The AMP MD System utilizes micro-exfoliation roller technology for visibly advanced skin-firming benefits. I need this, especially for my neck.

So what do you think? What are you using?

P.S. If you order any of the Rodan+Fields from my consultant you get free Eye Cloths! 🙂 You can go here.

Beauty For the Heart~~I love this quote from my Bible study this morning, “If you want to know the will and voice of God, you must devote time and effort to cultivate a love relationship with him.” How do we do that? Set aside time each day to read His word and for prayer. I promise you it will make a difference!

Have a blessed day!

  1. i used the Redefine system for 2 days and my skin became super red, inflamed , hurt and peeled badly. I had to stop and purchase an over the counter wash and moisturizer that calmed red inflamed skin. I was told by my consultant to continue for two more weeks. I don’t feel I can put up with that kind of peeling and pain. I did use the am and pm moisturizer on my face and around my eyes with no problems. I may return for a refund and only use an eye cream. I have seen a difference around my eyes.

  2. I use Wexler products, I love them and truly believe they make a noticeable difference… if you time it right, they will go on sale for buy one get one 50% off, then use the bath & body coupon $10 off of $30.. I do this twice a year and am able to amply stock my cleanser, moisturizer, eye & night cream… I must make confession, I have a true addiction to Bath & Body . What I would like is any advice for a neck firming cream, serum, etch., something that shows results but is not going to cost me $98 for half an ounce. I am realistic in the fact that quality products may cost more, but also realistic to the fact that I can’t skip my daughter’s college tuition to avoid turkey neck…

  3. As a 51 year old, I’ve been using Arbonne products – totally vegan, they’re a bit pricey, but feel soo good – especially at night when I’m lying in bed, falling asleep. I can feel it working on my skin. Have you tried those products?

  4. There’s a fairly big list actually. Some cleansers: #1 recommended is Cetaphil–it balances the PH of the skin so good for any skin type. Purpose, Neutrogena, ceraVe AND even Dove soap for sensitive skin. Moisturizers: Aveeno, Neutrogena, Olay Complete Defense, Eucerin Complete Defense–the ones with SPF 30 or higher. As far as any wrinkles/lines age spots freckles whiteheads blackheads the best products to use are Retinoids which are derived from Vitamin A. My retinoids prescription is Adalapene and it was a $10 copay for me. Other retinoids products recommended are Tretinoin and Tazatotene. She said alpha hydroxy acids are good. But other than cleanser, moisturizer and retinoids or alpha hydroxy and peptides she said its pretty much a waste of money.

  5. I’m wondering what products she recommended too. I love some of the higher end products but unfortunately my wallet won’t allow me to indulge.

  6. Cyndi, I can definitely tell a difference in the tone and brilliance of your complexion! I started R & F Reverse line about 3 weeks ago. I have incredibly HUGE age spots and I can already tell a remarkable difference! I’m 49 and skin care is part of my daily routine from here on out!

  7. I forgot to mention that I have started seeing a dermatologist (and she teaches at a reputable medical university) and she actually gave me a list of “over the counter” cleansers, moisturizers, etc that dermatologists recommend. These products are NOT expensive. I have used high end products and these “over the counter” products work just as well if not BETTER AND don’t hurt the pocket book. A lot of times we see certain results because we want to see them. Or we think if you spend more it is better. I trust my dermatologist and she has no interest in the products she recommends.

  8. You look great in both ! I tried RD was even a consultant for a year. Didn’t see much difference except it broke me out and I have never had that problem:(. But I have known others that swear by it. Go figure….

  9. I forgot to add swimming. Studies just came out that VERY low-dose chlorine keeps wrinkles at bay, so I guess swimming helps!

  10. Subtle, but noticeable. As Felica said, it looks generally tighter and smoother, but the lighting is different, so it’s hard to tell. I think the most change I see is in your neck, although the before looks great!
I don’t use anything that anyone else seems to use. My choices are based on my brother the Chemist’s recommendations which depend on the active ingredients…so I use RetinA, Curel with ceramides, Dermasil (salicylic acid), Loreal with SA shampoo as a body wash, Equate with Alph Hydroxy, Concha de Nacar with Papain (I’m not allergic to it). Also the Dupes for the Dr. Perricone products with C-ester, Hyaluorinic Acid and DMAE. Also Burt’s Bees Carrot Seed lotion and the Equate for Aveeno with dimethicone. It lets my make-up go on really smoothly. I think that about covers it! : )

  11. Cyndi I really don’t see obvious changes besides whatever is up with the coloring and wonder if you even need those products? I sure don’t see eye wrinkles in either picture. You’re fine just the way you are
