Fashion For Women Over 40-What I Wore

Happy Wednesday and welcome to Fashion For Women Over 40. I hope you all are having a great week! I having been going through my closet again looking for different things to wear. The theme seems to be polka dots!

Here are some outfits I came up with~~I’m embarrassed to say I bought this polka dot blazer last year and I haven’t ever worn it. I decided I needed to wear it!

I’m always trying to add color this time of the year. I purchased this scarf at a gift shop. It’s the cutest gift shop and believe it or not it’s where I get my car washed. They get me every time!

  1. Honey, I’m from Texas and your hair is right in style here. Tell the young ladies that critizied your hair………..tell them to be thankful they have hair. From a Hip Texan , that is fighting lukemia. By the way love your outfits! Ms. Judy

  2. Hi Cindy: I enjoy reading your posts and I like most of your outfits. However, I personally think you should consider changing your hair style as it is looking a bit dated and old fashioned. Hairstyles today are smoother and flatter if they are straight. If not, then the style is loosely waved. Than you.

  3. The black pants are similar to jeggings. They’re from Kut from the Kloth and they’re called Danny 5-pocket knit pants.
I would always wear them with a longer shirt. I don’t think leggings look good as pants. Does that make sense??
    Blessings,
    cyndi

  4. Well, Im finally answering this!! The black pants are similar to jeggings. They’re from Kut from the Kloth and they’re called Danny 5-pocket knit pants. The white shirt is a long sleeve white shirt because it’s still pretty chilly here. 🙂

  5. I love the polka dot blazer! It would be cute in warmer weather with white ankle pants, a bright shell, & sandals .

  6. Hi! I am in North Florida-we are high 60’s this weekend and I totally live on the baseball field. Sunscreen is the first thing 🙂 Also, I love crops with a 3/4 length t and a sweater or jacket if the game is going into the evening. I love maxi skirts or casual dresses with a cardi and sandals as well if it is low 70’s. Have fun on the field! Don’t worry about overdressing. Florida is some of everybody! You may never want to leave 🙂

  7. Both outfits are adorable. I love polka dots too! I don’t see how you made it that long without wearing that blazer – it’s adorable!

  8. I enjoyed looking at your outfits this week! I am leaving for FLA tomorrow and don’t know how to pack or what to pack! I will be attending baseball games over the next 4 days, so I don’t want to overdress and I feel short-shorts are inappropriate. Any suggestions?

  9. Your outfits are especially cute this week. Love the polka dot jacket (so versatile), and adore the orange scarf. That’s a GREAT colour on you. Like everyone else, more info on the knit pants, please. p.s. congrats on your SF trip!

  10. totally love the polka dot blazer! Your car wash story is so funny! We have a place called Beaches Carwash and they have the best stinkin gift shop! Who knew? We are freezing here in Florida today, and I am so ready for some beach weather! The north is expected to have a cold spring, so I think a spring destination vacation is in order for you! I had a meeting today, my go to hounds tooth pencil skirt and tall boots, but a seaglass green sweater, bring on the spring!

  11. Like Richella I would like to know more about the knit pants. I just got a pair, tags still on, haven’t decided how to wear them appropriately without looking like an 18 year old in “tights” that they call pants. Mine are not jeggings or leggings, but a more substantial knit skinny pant that feels like jammies!

  12. Hi Cyndi..I love your outfits and I always love what you do with your chambray shirt. I just purchased one and wore it last week but why do I feel mine do not look as good hanging out with a shorter top over it like they look on you? I always feel “sloppy” so I don’t know if mine hit me in the wrong place on my hips or what but I’m going to keep trying. Maybe it’s just hard stepping out of my comfort zone?? Love the scarf and seeing yours makes me want to pick up a more colorful ones then what I have. Anyway, keep inspiring us as I love getting new ideas from you.

  13. You are such a doll!!

A couple of questions about the last outfit, which I love:

Is that a long tank you’re wearing under the jean jacket?
How fitted are the knit pants? Are they similar to “jeggings”? They look terrific, by the way.

  14. Glad you finally got to wear the jacket, it’s fantastic and I love the scarf… A true fashionista can find things in the most unique places… why not the car wash? I’ve been fighting off a sinus infection for the past week and am really missing getting dressed, but why bother when I feel so lousy and disorriented…

  15. Love the orange polka dot scarf! Just the right pop of color for the jean jacket. I like the polka dot blazer, but for me, the outfit seems to have too many blues…I might change it up with a white top and colored jeans, then add a bright necklace on the white top…but still you are crisp and cute as usual! 🙂

  16. I LOVE these!! I work retail and we have to dress spring – even though it is soooo cold and still snow on the ground! This morning I laid out my clothes, but am stealing an idea from this today! Love the denim jacket! thank you =0)

  17. I LOVE polka dots! And your blazer is very very cute! Would be cute with your white blouse and bright blue or red flowered necklace! You inspire me everyday by sticking with dressing well. Thank you. May you and your family have a blessed Lenten season.
