Spring Makeup Trends

***Okay friends, I’ve switched my email service and you should now be getting my emails through another server. I know this doesn’t mean a lot to you but it’s been something I’ve needed to do.

I’ll be tweaking it a little over the next few weeks. I’m trying to truncate my posts in my email which means you have to click over to my blog to read it.

Here’s why: I get paid per clicks through my ad networks, which means it helps me for you to click over to my blog. But I want your honest opinion. Does this bother you??

Thanks for you patience and for being such faithful readers!! You’re such a blessing to me!

The last few weeks we’ve been talking about the spring trends in fashion, handbags, and shoes. Today, I thought we’d talk about spring makeup trends.

Spring-makeup-trends

I thought I would go today and get a spring makeover. I usually try to do one in the fall and spring. So before I go, I checked out the spring trends.

Makeup artists love to experiment with the latest trends but the latest trends don’t work for everyone. I already know that bold lipstick is not for me so I don’t even want to try it.

Here are some of the latest trends with makeup.

1. Major Brows– Thicker brows are still the way to go. I love the look of thicker brows so I hope this doesn’t go away any time soon.

2. Winged liner- I love this look but I’m not sure I can pull it off. I do love the way it lifts your eye which is great for women over 40.

3. Pastel eyeshadow- I’m not sure about this one either. I know blue and green is popular right now but I don’t think I can pull it off. I’ll probably stick to my neutrals.

4. Bold lipstick- This is gorgeous on her, but it’s not for me.

Have you tried any of these spring makeup trends? Which one is your favorite?

Here are some of my other spring trend posts:

  1. I did mine at Bobbi Brown in the mall. They’re really good. Always tell them how you like to wear your make up. If you like a natural look let them know that.
    Blessings,
    Cyndi

  2. I don’t mind going to the blog. Not sure if I do it right so that you get the credit for it, I’m not that computer savy. Sometimes I search for close to an hour to find you. I’m not sure how to “subscribe” to your blog. But…f
When I do find you, I can sit for hours reading past posts. I really enjoy the information that you put out. I find it very helpful.
Where do you get your makeovers? I’ve tried a few places and looked more like a clown and a streetwalker. Gave up on makeovers but I would really like to get an actual trained person and have a really good makeover.

  3. I love the winged liner too but I can’t seem to get the hang of it. 🙁
If I get it, I’ll definitely share!!
    Thanks for stopping by!
    Cyndi

  4. Liked the email version, but thought it was too good to be true 🙂 Don’t mind clicking at all for such a great blog!

  5. Don’t mind clicking but is it possible to have the click at the top as a title like on several other blogs I receive? Then we don’t have to scroll down, just simply open email and click.

  6. No problem clicking over as I was doing that anyway. I’m glad you can get paid for the time and effort you put into this blog and want to see you continue to inspire us with all your fashion tips. I tried a pastel eye shadow today and did not like it. I think I will stay with my brown shades. Hope you will share your spring makeover.

  7. I already have to click over so I’m used to it. What I don’t like is when it takes forever for pictures to load. This doesn’t happen with yours but for some reason does for your sisters blog. As for the spring makeup looks, I don’t even think the pastels look good on younger ladies and there are so many prettier shades of lipstick than the orange shown. I prefer the pinky nude shade you told us about a couple of days ago.

  8. I’m happy to click over and read from the blog. I enjoy both you and your sister and am happy to help you remain successful!

  9. Hey Cyndi,
I love your blog posts. It is so inspiring to see the beautiful pictures of your different looks. Thank you for sharing. i’m the same way about bold lipsticks.
As for the liner on the eyes, well I’m 54. So that was back in the day!!!! lol

  10. I’m not a fan of clicking over (only because I’m lazy and like everything in one spot!). When I receive your email, I have to click over to read the remainder of the post, so I’m used to doing it. Many of my favorite bloggers have their posts set up that way and I think that if it helps y’all out, then go for it. 🙂 I love your tips as well as your style.

  11. No problem clicking over. It was fast and easy. Keep sharing your great tips! If you can hurry spring weather along, I’d appreciate it. 🙂

  12. I adore the winged eyeliner look and have incorporated into my “look” for the past year. It definitely gives the eye a lift, but does require a lot of practice. Needless to say, it is not a get ready in 5 minutes kind of look, but, as they say….”if you can be ready in 5 minutes, maybe you shouldn’t be going out.” 🙂

  13. Dont mind clicking at all!

Would you please try those trends and show us what it might look like? I wish you wouldn’t say it wont work for you alot………..I wish you’d try it first. Even if you never leave your house. You might be suprised if you take a chance. I think you’re awesome……..jump outta your box a smidge……

  14. No problems with clicking over!!!!
I love the winged eyeliner trend and have been wanting to expirment to see if I like it on myself… I also like the pastel eye shadow and every once in a while I will do a more bold orange lipstick similar to the one pictured…

  15. No problems with the clicking over.
I love the look of winged eyeliner – but it seems like you have to have “young eyes” for this look – with crows feet/wrinkles just doesn’t work…..

  16. No problem clicking over. I look forward to your emails everyday but especially on Sundays. So many times it is something I specifically need to read or a song that I receive a blessing from. Thank you!!

  17. I too would love to see the after pictures. I seldom wear makeup so I tend to get out of the habit and definitely not aware of the trends (:
I am one of the few that really isn’t one to click over. I get the emails so I don’t have to go to the blog unless I want to comment or read other links in the post. My issue is more about time and network bandwidth.

  18. Hi Cyndi, I was already in the habit googling your blog site anyway, so this doesn’t bother me.

My 21 year old daughter wears a thick winged tip liner on her eyes and Mac Chili on her lips which is a bright orange red and both look good on her.

I wear Clinique Roast Coffee pencil near my upper lash line and Laura Mercier Baked Earth, a brownish pink for lip color. I do like to fill in my brows and Mac makes a good pencil with a fine point. It’s fun to see the trends but I will probably stick to the more subtle colors.

Will you show us pictures of your make over?!

Thank you and have a blessed day!

We were just in San Francisco for a week and had great weather. Hope you enjoy your trip there as well.

  19. I have no qualms whatsoever with clicking over to your site, it’s what I’ve always done anyway. Occasionally in the past the photos didn’t come up on the email so I’d click the link to go to your website, it’s just become a habit. = )

  20. honestly; happy to click over especially if it helps you out. not really feeling most of those spring trends – more of a neutral girl myself. hope you will share a picture of ur makeover and what you liked and didn’t. have a blessed day. linda

  21. Hello
A trick my daughter does she will put tape under her eye by the corner and over top and draw the lines when she is done she removes the tape and it’s a perfect cat eye..not sure if that is the same as this, but the technique might help you.

  22. I know clicking over isn’t that big of a deal, but for lent I have been trying to really limit my time on-line. The way that I ended up doing that was by unsubscribing any blogs that required me to click over especially if it then required me to click again to read the entire post on the blog. I know these are all ways to generate revenue but for me it made a real difference especially if my internet was being slow.

  23. Hello Cyndi,

Your blog is enjoyable and your heart is so relatable. 🙂
Clicking to your blog is such an easy way to ensure that we get to continue benefiting from your info! Thank you!

  24. Hi Cyndi

I don’t mind how you wish to send out your blogs! I just love receiving them. I love the eyebrow look but don’t think at my age (44) I can carry the pastel eye colours, bold lipsticks and eye liners – would be great if they did, but think I may look silly, so like you I stick to my classic neutrals which don’t date and are enhancing!

  25. Hi Cyndi,
Love the spring trends, but I am not sure I will be doing anything except the eyebrows. Just personal preference.

Regarding having to click over to your blog, it doesn’t bother me all, especially if that is how you get paid. I want you to get paid so that you can continue to do what you do and be such an insperation to a lot of women while spreading the Gospel. I think what you do is awesome.
    Blessings,
    Kathy

  26. HI Cyndi! I love the winged liner! I try this regularly but mine never seems to look the same as the picture you shared. Maybe I’m not using the correct type of liner?? Any suggestions? would you ever do a tutorial on how to apply and get this look? No, it doesn’t bother me to “click” over to your blog. I understand…its part of having a business and I support you having an income for your family 🙂 Have a blessed day and thanks for sharing.

  27. No problem at all with clicking over to your site to read your posts! The only trend I’ll be trying among these is the more defined brow. In my mid-50’s, it’s better to stick with what works. My usual makeup palette is very similar to yours. No need to fix something that’s not broken, right?
