Want To Add Volume To Your Hair?

It’s no secret, I like a little volume when it comes to my hair. I know it’s because I grew up in the 80’s and although my hair is not nearly as big as it use to be, I still like volume.

One of my favorite root lifters is Aquage Uplifting Foam. I use this while my hair is still wet and apply it to the roots of my hair and then blow dry and style.

Want to Add Volume To Your Hair?

Recently, I ran out of Aquage and forgot to order more so I decided to try a product from L’Oreal that I bought at the grocery store. It’s called, BOOST IT High Lift Creation Spray and it costs around $5,00.

Want to Add Volume To Your Hair?

This product is used after your hair is dry. I flat iron my hair and then add this product to the roots. I only use it in the back, not on the sides of my hair.

I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised. It worked well and definitely gave my hair volume. It only takes a small amount so don’t overdo it!

It gets great reviews but the only negative is the smell. It bothers some people but it doesn’t bother me, it goes away quickly.

Have you tried L’Oreal BOOST IT High Lift Creation Spray? Do you use a root lifter to help add volume?

  1. I’m a huge fan of the L’Oreal volumizing products. I use the whole line for fine hair. I need to look into Aquage – I’m always on the lookout for a good root booster.

  2. I’m originally from Texas and an 80’s Girl so you do the math….yep, that’s right, I like a big ole root lift! I used Nioxin root lifter and I loved it, but they took it off the market ~ How dare they?!!! I have really dry hair, but most root lifters, I’ve found they make my hair oily. Have you ever tried Girl Powder? It’s kind of fun and gives a pretty good lift. I’m definitely going to try this L’Oreal product. Thanks for the input. Sorry I went on and on 😉 God Bless and have a great weekend!

  3. I would also like to see the video of how you style your hair! I love your style and since I’m not real handy with doing hair, I can never get the lift that I want! Thanks!

  4. I’m a big hair loving 80’s gal from the South too!! Big Sexy hair root pump & hair spray is my “go to” product as others have mentioned.
I often times buy/stock up when it’s on sale from JCP. Big Sexy Weather Proof Humidity Resistant Spray is AMAZING too!!
Another favorite is from Sally’s Beauty supply it’s a volumizing powder called BTZ (beyond the zone) ROCK ON it adds just enough texture to my fine hair and holds up really well on humid days & the little bottle last forever @ only $7.50 it’s worth the investment!
I’ll be trying your suggestions Cyndi 😉

  5. I came back to read this post again bc I just got a haircut and need a little “oompf” at the crown. Will try it out.

  6. I like the Big Sexy Hair root lifter also but it’s so expensive so I’m going to give this product a try. I have thin hair so I definitely need to boost my hair.

  7. I love the Aquage products. The curl defining crème is amazing too. I have naturally curly hair so I have a lot of volume but the curl defining crème not only gives you the volume you need it also stops the frizz that comes along with humidity in the summer. Great products!!

  8. I will definitely try this product. I don’t like to spend a lot on hair products. Honestly, with the humidity this week, I haven’t had to worry about it. My hair is lifting itself. Haha!

  9. Gee! I don’t use any product on my hair, depending instead on my cut and a good night’s sleep. It’s seems to fluff it up, but I never blow dry either. How do I know if I need bigger hair?
I guess I’m afraid of an immovable helmet head and how aging that looks. Yours always looks cute. 🙂

  10. I like Aquage and also discovered this new boost product and like it too. I also love the big sexy hair products. Thanks for sharing!

  11. I discovered this stuff a few weeks ago and absolutely love it! I love me some big hair. I’m from the late 80’s-early 90’s but we still had the big hair going then too. 🙂

  12. Having spent my life in Texas, big hair has been a lifelong quest, and I could not have been less endowed in that regard. I have tried almost every volumizing product on the market at all price points, and lately find I have the best luck with the “Big Sexy Hair” line. I use the conditioner (shampoo is too drying,) Root Pump, volumizing gel and the Stay & Play Harder hairspray with pretty good results. I also use their dry shampoo as a volumizer occasionally. Fortunately, at my age I only have to wash my hair every five or six days. By then, about 40% of my body weight is hair product! I have very good luck with the hairspray – it doesn’t build up as badly as others I have used, but seems to offer good hold and volume. I’ll have to try the Aquage line to see if it’s any better. Thanks for posting this – full hair is important to some of us, and today’s products really help make it possible!

  13. Cyndi: Could you please film a tutorial on how you style your hair? I greatly appreciate you and your website…God Bless!

  14. I’m an alumni of the 80’s big hair movement, too, and I just don’t feel put together without a little “oomph” in my hair! 🙂 I’m on a pretty tight budget, but this product is affordable–I will definitely be trying it! Thanks for the tip!
