Mixing Prints-Fashion For Women Over 40

Happy Hump day friends! One of the things I’ve noticed lately is mixing animal print with polka dots. I think it’s a great way for women over 40 to add a trendy touch to an outfit.

Here’s a picture from J’s Everyday Fashion blog. She’s wearing a polka dot blouse with a leopard print belt. (Obviously, she’s not over 40.)

I decided to pull out my Kendrick Polka Dot blouse and add my leopard print shoes. It’s a fun look.

I love my Stella & Dot initial necklace and I’ve worn it a lot this summer. They’re fall jewelry that’s out is gorgeous!

Have you tried mixing prints?

Beauty For the Heart~~“I have learned that in every circumstance that comes my way, I can choose to respond in one of two ways: I can whine or I can worship! And I can’t worship without giving thanks. It just isn’t possible. When we choose the pathway of worship and giving thanks, especially in the midst of difficult circumstances, there is a fragrance, a radiance, that issues forth out of our lives to bless the Lord and others.” -Nancy Leigh DeMoss

Have a blessed day!

  1. Not liking this look. But then I’m conservative and my fashion style borders on boring. Love that top you have on! Do like yours better than the models. Too many colors there.

  2. Hi Cyndi – Love your quote from Nancy DeMoss – Worship is such an incredible way for me to connect with God! Thank you for sharing your beautiful heart!

  3. You always look sweet Cyndi. Thx for encouraging us to try different looks “outside” the box. I love me some leopard! 🙂

  4. I love this outfit Cindy, your shirt tucked in reminded me of something I want to try more . Ive been wearing my shirts more outside my jeans and though why am I doing it like this maybe I should tuck my shirts more.

  5. I love the red jeans with the leopard flats (although another comment said they were pink jeans–they look red on my computer screen.) I think I would prefer a creamy white silk bouse although you are always pretty no matter what you wear!

  6. First, I LOVE the navy and pink combo!
Second…it is amazing how often your message for the heart speaks to what I am going through that day. Just yesterday I was struggling with an issue, and decided to pray for the person instead of wallowing in pity. You know, learning to react like that is the benefit of being “over 40” to me. As a younger woman I would not have done that.

    1. That’s a great thought Julie, I do think as we age we are more careful about what we say. I try not to react too quickly. I still have my moments but much better that when I was in my 20s.
      Blessings,
      Cyndi

  7. I like this on you, AND tucked in! Maybe the back could come out for a different look. The longer hair is very youthful…go for it!

  8. Not loving this look on you. Maybe if you untuck the shirt infront it would look more flattering on you. The way it is, it makes you look wide. I love must everything you post but this one was not a favorite one.

  9. I love both animal print and polka dots but together, not so much. I guess I’m still too basic although I’ve gotten away from matchy-matchy. It all looks great on you though! I love your longer hair too!

  10. Well, my animal print loving heart is turning somersaults… A new pairing for leopard print is always a great thing!

Beautiful Beauty for the Heart today…I am telling my DD who is now in MA at Boston College and not liking city life, that it can be an adventure or an ordeal her choice…

  11. You always look so good no matter what you wear. You’re an inspiration to so many and I look forward to reading your posts every day. You truly give new meaning to “walking in grace”… no matter what people may comment – positive or negative – you’re response is always full of grace and kindness. May God continue to bless you and make you a blessing to others. On a more personal note, I took my laptop to my stylist and had her do my “do” like yours. I love it and folks have not stopped commenting on it yet! My kids tell me everyday how much younger I look… wish I would have found you and the courage to make this change years ago. 🙂 Thanks, Cyndi.

    1. Pamela thank you. I have been lavished with grace and I want to share it with others.
You made my day with the “how much younger you look.” Yay!!! I’m so glad my blog is helping.
Makes all my early mornings and late nights on the computer worth it. 🙂
      Blessings,
      Cyndi

  12. Again you look so beautiful classy and modern! Great choice of clothing pieces. I love reading your blog especially your quotes at the end of your post.
