Fall Fashion For Women Over 40

Happy Hump Day! The weather has been absolutely gorgeous around here, cool in the mornings and warm during the day. I wore this cute tee I received from My Sister’s Tee yesterday.

I also couldn’t wait to wear these burgundy corduroy skinny pants I received in my Stitch Fix box. They’re from Kut From the Kloth, and I’ll be styling them several different ways this fall.

Of course in the mornings and evenings I need my denim jacket. I recently purchased this one from LOFT.

I’m seeing a lot of burgundy this fall. Do you have anything burgundy in your fall wardrobe?

  1. You are totes adorable!!! I love your style, if you lived in Michigan we would be BFFs!!!! Keep positive! Blessings to you and your family:)

  2. HI! I love those pants! I have heard you talk about Stitch Fix so much that I finally had to check it out. I was really leery and finally bit the bullet and placed my first “fix” order. Do you know how to find promo codes?? I used your name in my note, maybe you’ll get some credit? 🙂 So excited for mid November deliver! Love your site!

  3. Love the pants! It’s funny, I always have burgundy pieces in my fall/winter wardrobe… such a rich color, but I think it’s also back to my Texas Aggie roots. 😉
Hope you’re having a blessed week, Cyndi ~ xo Heidi

  4. Cindy, I love a lot of your looks, but this for some reason isn’t my favorite for a woman over 40. I think that if it was paired with a different shirt, it would look more age appropriate.

  5. Hey Cyndi!! Hope this finds you well and I KNOW you are lookin’ cute. I love that t-shirt with your burgundy cords and navy flats, how cute is that?? Like you, I have been seeing burgundy all over the place, it seems to be making resurgence. I’ve got a burgundy slouchy boyfriend cardigan that I just wore the other day with a chambray shirt and dark jeans. I loved the look. I also got a burgundy floral infinity scarf, I haven’t had the chance to wear yet. Your pants are so sleek, do they have any stretch in them? I was looking at a pair of skinny cords on line with no stretch and I worried that they might be kind of “grabby” on my legs and hips when I tried to move around. Happy Hump Day, Be Blessed!

  6. Finally!!! It was cool enough for some skinny jeans, a striped long sleeved top (and a cute cross necklace)!!! but I still wore flip flops!! 😉

  7. Love you i;n #1. You look like a kid, Not like you’re Trying to look like one. 🙂 I love these rich Fall colours. Burgundy cord would be wonderful…I’ll have to keep my eye open. Thanks for the heads upl

  8. Question: Are socks or hose acceptable to wear with flats/loafers/slide-on shoes when worn with slacks that are either bootleg or skinny? Please help!! Thank you!!

    1. Yes when the weather gets colder, wear socks. I would wear black trouser socks with these shoes. Although when it gets really cold, I live in boots!
      Blessings,
      Cyndi

  9. Love the look, especially with the denim jacket. I have nothing in the wine color. I definitely need to work on that. Love it paired with the jean color!

  10. I love that look on you Cyndi! You look great! I bought a pair of Skinny Cords in a wine color last year from the LOFT. I love them and can’t wait to wear them again this year.

  11. Cindy, I love your look today. My kids’ school colors are maroon and black so I’m always on the lookout for maroon (or burgundy) clothing items for myself! Also… do you have suggestions on a denim jacket that is tailored enough and not bulky yet still has that classic jean jacket look? The one you have on is really cute but we don’t have LOFT anywhere near us. Any ideas? Thanks!
