Sunday Encouragement

My niece recently gave birth to a baby boy. I’m not sure there’s anything sweeter than a newborn baby. I still think it’s a miracle how we can carry them for 9 months while they grow and then at just the right time, they enter the world.

As Mom’s, we love our children deeply and we want to protect them as much as we can from this harsh world. I imagine Mary, the mother of Jesus, felt the same way.

I’ve often wondered what Mary felt the first time she held Jesus in her arms, the first time she smelled His sweet scent, the first time she felt His tiny fingers curl around hers.

Luke 2:19 (NLT) says, “but Mary kept all these things in her heart and thought about them often.”

Isn’t that just like a Mom to remember all those precious first moments of meeting your baby? How many times do we talk about their birth and share it with others?

I read this quote about Mary, Most Moms think their children can walk on water. Mary’s Son actually did.

Sunday Encouragement

I wonder if Mary knew, really knew, that her Son would change the lives of so many–one pair of blind eyes, one set of broken limbs, one soul at a time.

Did she know that her Son would save the world?

I heard this song a few weeks ago and couldn’t wait to share it with you. I don’t know if this group of singers are christians but I think God can use anyone to give hime glory, amen?

Enjoy!!!

Have a blessed Sunday!

  1. Thanks for sharing about a mom’s heart! Also Pentatonix has an amazing version of the Little Drummer Boy that gives me chills – watch it if you get a chance! It’s amazing!

  2. Love that song, it’s my favorite………..such a beautiful rendition. It might be my “new” favorite……….Loved all you holiday outfits and I am trying to incorporate despite “the leg”……….boot is now gone and it has been replaced with a leg brace…..and ugly black shoes, the brace will fit in. I am making progress….I start physical therapy tomorrow and maybe by Christmas I can at least wear my boots! I am trying to be patient…… 😉

  3. Just last week God blessed us with a new granddaughter and I watched this as I held her and wondered many of these same thoughts on Mary. I’m sure she was so overwhelmed and yet in awe of her new baby and God’s amazing love. I know I am.

  4. This was the same topic that was preached on at my church today. The same video was played also, just thought it was interesting you shared the same topic. Thanks for the blessing!

  5. Love this song! My daughter was actually in All-State choir in Texas with two of the guys in the band and she said they were huge stand-outs. As a member of the “older generation,” I tend to favor the Kenny Rogers/Wynonna Judd version 🙂 Thanks so much for dressing and blessing us on your blog.

  6. Hi Cyndi, we all wonder how Mary experienced her Son’s life. As moms we marvel! Also, I love Pentatonix, they were a winner of “The Sing Off” one year. They also just published a Chrustmas CD, I bought at Target three weeks ago. Amazing. Have a glorious a First a Day of Advent!

  7. I have always wondered just how Mary handled everything. I doubt she had mother support groups to help her through! We are studying John in our Bible fellowship class and we know from John that Jesus tells her that his time was not yet come when she asked him to do something at the wedding. Yet, he did. I wonder what changed his mind? Really enjoy your uplifting blog. Thanks so much for all the time and effort that goes into it.
