Herringbone Vest and A 3D Mascara Giveaway!

I’m not sure if you all have seen the Herringbone Vest craze on Pinterest. But I’ve seen this vest everywhere!

My herringbone vest came in my Stitch Fix box several months ago. To be honest, I wasn’t that impressed and almost sent it back. For some reason, I kept it and then I started seeing it everywhere.

It’s kind of like when you get a new (or new to you) car and you didn’t notice how many people had that car until you start driving one. That’s how I felt about this vest. 🙂

The vest seems popular which my sweet friends at Stitch Fix knew but because I’m so uncool, I didn’t know it. Story of my life!

Anyhoo, I decided to pull it out and style it! I wore it last Saturday all day and I got tons of compliments on it. Umm, I’m going to wear it more often!

Herringbone Vest and A 3D Mascara Giveaway!

I’ve looked for this vest online but they’re sold out everywhere. J Crew Factory had a similar vest but they now only have it in red and black. I think it’s cute too!

MOODSTRUCK 3D FIBER MASCARA GIVEAWAY

Have you ladies tried 3D fiber mascara yet? Oh my goodness, I’m in love with this mascara!!

Wendy, one of my blog readers, sells Younique products and she recently got me to try their Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lashes. You apply the 3D fibers over your regular mascara.  They add tons of thickness to my natural lashes and I wear them everyday!

Once you get past a certain age (ahem) you really shouldn’t have to take close up pictures but I wanted you to see the difference the 3D mascara makes. This is a picture without any mascara.

  1. I’ve heard of the mascara, but didn’t understand how it could make your mascara better. The after picture is a huge difference.

  2. The 3D mascara looks like something I would love to try. I even viewed some videos about it on youtube after seeing how great you look wearing it!

  3. Mascara looks interesting. Do the fibers bother eyes that wear contact lenses? Thanks for the giveaway. Love your style. Love how Jesus shines through you!!!

  4. No. Until recently I always rubbed my mascara off. Now that I found a brand name I can handle I would love to try these.

  5. I am very interested in trying the mascara…I am new to your blog and have to say I am a huge fan! I love that you end each post with a verse…thank you!

  6. Hi Cyndi, Thanks for your outfit inspirations. I’ve changed my look because of you and get so many compliments on my outfits now. My 14 year old daughter even loves my new look! (The vest would be a nice addition.) I would love to try this mascara. It takes 3 coats of my Clinique before my lashes finally look a little bit full.

  7. Hi Cyndi,

Wow the mascara really makes a difference. I am curious, I hate in in the afternoon when my mascara give me raccoon eyes. Does this do that? And you look great in the vest and plaid scarf. Old Navy has a similar vest for those who are interested.

  8. Cyndi,
Love the vest and mascara! I have a similar vest in navy that I got at Jcrew a few years ago and I still wear it all the time. I would love to add another to my closet. Can’t wait to see your next post!
    Thanks
    Steph

  9. I have such short thin eyelashes…could be age, too…need to try this! Love seeing your outfits from day to day. I think we are about the same age and you have given me inspiration. Thank you!

  10. With my “hooded” eyelids, my lashes don’t show very much and it looks like this would really help. Would like to try this.

  11. wow this sounds too good to be true. I have not seen this in any stores. in years passed, there have been other mascaras with fibers that just absolutely ruined being able to wear contacts. since you have recently begun wearing them again, what would you say about this application?
Along with eyebrows that disappeared from the outer portion the lashes thinned demonstrably with a thyroid storm. thanks for keeping us up to date with newer products.

  12. I have seen this mascara all over but have never tried it before. I would love to, because my lashes are on the shorter side and starting to thin! I also love your outfit! I just ordered this vest on GroopDealz and I’m excited to start wearing it! Granted I picked the right size and it fits…

  13. Your eyelashes look fabulous!!!! I would love trying Moonstruck 3D Fiber Mascara. The red scarf is definitely your color!

  14. I know what you mean about thinning eyelashes. I have that problem, too.
I would love to learn how to apply eyeliner. Maybe you can share some tips one day.

I am going to add this outfit to my list of basics to wear. I can’t tell you how much fun I am having in the style challenge!

  15. Cyndi, I’m curious if the mascara flaked off at all. I bought some and I won’t mention brands, but it was horrible as it looked like I had a second set of lashes on my cheeks, shortly after I applied the mascara. Yours look beautiful! Thanks for a reply 😉

  16. I would love to try this as my lashes are so short! It looks great on you. Thanks for the giveaway. Your outfit is cute too – I have asked for a plaid scarf for Christmas. Looks great on you as always.

  53. I haven’t tried 3D mascara yet, but I’d sure love to! Btw, your suggestion of clary sage essential oil has been a lifesaver, thank you!! 🙂

  54. would love an opportunity to win the mascara to try. I wear contacts, so I’ve been hesitant to purchase. getting anything under a contact hurts terribly!!

  57. Are those the Madden Girl Cactuss boots? Love them! I’m hinting to hubby for Christmas. 🙂 How does the calf fit (is the pair you have regular or wide calf, if I may ask? I feel like regular is a wee snug, while wide calf feels sloppy. Those look just right.
    Thanks!

  58. Love your blog. It is so nice to see you model clothes I can wear. I have been wanting to try the mascara. Hope I win

  59. Nope, I haven’t seen this Herringbone Vest just yet….. but give it time to circulate around from the BIG city of Lexington to our small town 2 hours East and I will see it everywhere! LOL It is cute and you wear it fabulously!
I only wear a certain mascara because my eyes are sensitive to strong chemicals. Good luck with your 3D mascara give away!! 🙂

  60. Mascara is a must for me, having blue eyes and fair skin. Otherwise people ask if I’m sleepy. I would be excited to try the fabulous mascara since buying mascara that does all it says it will can turn into a trial and error process that gets a little expensive. Thank you for all your posts and photos. Its so enjoying to watch and see what you put together because it feeds my mind with ideas for trying new combinations of what I might have or can create.

  61. Your eyelashes look wonderful!! Mine have been very sparse just lately so this mascara sounds great! Love your scarf too!!

  62. I would love to try this product, but the question I have is, I have very sensitive eyes to all kinds of product, is this a good choice for sensitive eyes?

  63. Love reading your blog each day. This mascara is definitely what I need as I was just noticing this morning that I need a different kind of mascara than I’m using for sure!

  64. Wow! What a difference mascara makes! You look fabulous as always! Thank you for this blog and all you do to touch so many!!!

  65. Would love to win the mascara. A great gift to myself! I really enjoy your post and tips. I also love your hair. I’ve taken a picture to my hair dresser the past couple of months trying to get the same cut.

  66. I have never tried this mascara, but it looks like it could be an answer to my prayers! My poor lashes are not what they used to be!

  67. I just started using the Younique 3D mascara and it’s nothing short of fabulous. I’m getting so many complements that I’m thinking of even trying to sell it myself.

  68. Hi Cyndi, This looks like a great mascara. Being considerably older than you I can use all the help I can get. Watch your blog everyday, love it. Meeting a few friends haven’t seen in over a year in about 10 days and watching closely to put that perfect outfit together.

  69. I love the mascara – what a difference! The vest looks great on you – but I think most everything you wear looks great!

  70. The vest is super cute! I have recently heard about 3D mascara, but didn’t pay too much attention to it until I saw your before and after photos. That mascara looks amazing!!!

  71. I have tried Younique products before and love them. Would love to try the mascara!!! Thanks for being a daily inspiration to me.

  72. I love that vest! I have been looking everywhere for one. They have been running them on Jane and Groopdealz, but they run small, and sadly, I am not small! And now I wish I had bought that scarf at Target when I saw it – sold out everywhere now! Can you show how you fixed it? It looks great, and I never can get mine to roll and sit like that on myself.

  73. Never tried the 3D mascara before. I’m not big on wearing mascara as I already have dark lashes, but I would love to try this to make my eyes pop!

  74. I haven’t tried that mascara. I’m always looking for something that will bring back the long thick lashes I had when I was younger. Thanks for giving us a chance to try it!

  75. I haven’t tried it, but it looks great on you! Thank you for the opportunity to win and thank you for all the hard work you put into your blog. 🙂

  76. Hi Cyndi. Thx for the giveaway …your eyes look great with this mascara on 🙂 so is it like false eye lashes?? do you remove them and then reapply each day?? Or is it more like mascara with the application? Sorry for not understanding ;-(

    1. Much easier than false eyelashes! You apply your own mascara. Let it dry. Then add a gel to your lashes and then add the fibers and then another coat of the gel.
The gel and the fibers are in tubes like mascara. It lasts all day and then I remove it at night with my makeup remover.
      Easy!! Hope that helps!!
      Cyndi

  77. Love this outfit! I just bought myself a chambray shirt. which I love layering with a flannel. Entering this contest with fingers crossed! I’ve heard this mascara is great!
