A New Year In God’s Word

Welcome friends! I’m so glad you’ve stopped by today. I have been thinking a lot about the New Year ahead.

A New Year In God's Word

Of course I’m thinking about fashion and beauty ideas for my blog. But I want to make sure that my focus remains on the most important thing and that’s my relationship with Jesus.

I’m wondering if you’re like me and wanting more of Jesus this year? Would you want to dig a little deeper in scripture? Are you in the Bible as regularly as you would like to be?

Well, let’s start the New Year In God’s Word! Beginning January 1, I’m inviting you to join me on a Focused15 challenge.

What is the Focused15 Challenge? Glad you asked!

Beginning January 1 we’ll start a Bible Study called Wild Obedience  (you purchase it online for $3.99) by Katie Orr.

Katie is a pastor’s wife and friend of mine. She is passionate about sharing God’s word and helping women dig into scripture and grow in their relationship with Christ.

The study is 15 days and can be completed in 15 minutes. Which is perfect for a Focused15 challenge.

If you would like to join me, take this pledge:

A New Year In God's Word
If this resonates with your heart, go here and sign the pledge and then if you don’t mind, leave a comment and let me know! (There’s not a 2015 date but go ahead and put 2014 and it will still work.)

My prayer is that we can join together and see what God does through our commitment and obedience! Don’t be afraid to take a leap of faith, you will see blessings from studying His word.

(I think my sister will join us and share this on her blog, we were thinking about starting a private facebook group to encourage each other. What are your thoughts??)

Here’s a video of Katie sharing about the Focused15 challenge.

Let’s do this! Have a blessed day!

  1. I signed up and will start Wednesday. I’m just getting back to work and school routine but would love to join the Facebook group. Thanks so much for your ministry.

  2. Did you guys decide to start a private facebook group for this study? I started today and am finishing up Day 1 tonight after everybody goes to bed 🙂
Looking forward to getting to know my Lord better in 2015!!

  3. Hi Cyndi, I’ve been out of the loop a little while. I got really sick and was in the hospital for a week with Pneumonia. At first I was so sad to be in the hospital for Christmas but it turned out to be one of my favorite Christmas’. God grew my heart for the sick and for the people that cheerfully give up their Christmas to serve and help others. My husband stayed every night with me and on Christmas Eve my kids went to church and my husband sang to me my favorite Christmas hymns. My daughter read to me on the phone “The Christmas Story” from the Bible and my kids woke up and went to Church on Christmas morning. We all received gifts we didn’t know we needed or wanted. Christmas Eve and Christmas morning was just us and the birth of Jesus; it was the most beautiful thing ever. We ended up having our traditional Christmas late and it was as wonderful as ever. I am so excited to do this Bible Study. Thank you for thinking of this. Has it started? Merry Christmas and Happy New! Thank you for your blog, I love it!

  4. This is exciting and a great way to kick off the new year. I am looking forward to connecting with like minded ladies! Blessings to all.

  5. I’m in and so very excited! It fits right in to my early morning routine as outlined in Hal Elrod’s book “The Miracle Morning”. Looking forward to the FB group too. Thanks!

  6. Hi Cyndi,
I ordered the Bible Study online and I received a receipt. However, when I clicked in the link on Katie’s page, it told me that the resource is not available. I would like the PDF version. I hate to bother you with this but I couldn’t find any contact information for Katie. Thanks so much.

    I received a receipt

  7. I’ve signed the pledge and am looking forward to the bible study. Thank you for this suggestion. A Facebook page would be awesome!

  8. I need this and hope it is the push I need to get back on track. My life is good and God is important to me but I haven’t been putting much effort into my spiritual life and I feel a little lost. Thank you for sharing.

  9. I’m in and excited to get started on Thursday. Cyndi, I enjoy your blog so much. I love your style tips, but really love reading what God lays on your heart to share. Thanks!!

  10. previously remarked that I signed up and had a challenge paying for the 15 day program. I was NOT complaining about charge but could not seem to get to the pmt option to be able to make pmt.

  11. Hi Cyndi,
I will join the challenge. I’m already involved in a Melissa Spoelstra study that’s a bit intense, but this will be a better way to get in a study every single day for 15 minutes. Amy

  12. I’m in, and I’m excited to see all God has in store for us! I just finished Beth Moore’s “Believing God” and was praying about what to do next. Thank you!

  13. Hi Cyndi, I just signed up for the Focused 15 Pledge. I look forward to truly studying the bible for the first time and strengthening my relationship with God and myself. I have long wanted to find a way to grow spiritually and your post this morning allows me that opportunity. Thank you!

  14. Hi, Cyndi! I’ve signed the pledge and am looking forward to participating in the Focused 15 challenge/Bible study. Can’t wait to begin. Thank you for sharing the opportunity!

  15. Cyndi, I am in. !!! Can’t wait. This will be so good for me to start the new year off right. Thank you for your faith and the willingness to share it. From Vermont with love !

  16. I am totally in for this 15 day challenge and I am looking forward to it. My 14 year old daughter has agreed to commit to the challenge as well. I would love to connect with other believers through a private FB group. Thank you for offering this opportunity.

  17. Thanks for sharing! I have been looking for something just like this and would be thrilled to have a FB page to further the experience. I’m signed up and will be purchasing the book as soon as my Kindle is charged up…LOL! Thanks again.

  18. I’m going to do it. Have not been doing well this year with Bible study & feeling like I’m not alone will definitely help. Yes–I would love a fb page!

  19. Hi Cyndi,
I took the pledge and registered. I’m very much looking forward to this study. Thank you for sharing it. I think a FB page would be a great encouragement to this study.

  20. Cyndi, I just found you over Christmas break. I have enjoyed reading your posts and love your ’40s style’. I find myself struggling sometimes with this age-I still like the young styles but don’t want to look like I’m trying to look too young! I’m All In on the Focused 15 Challenge! Thanks for sharing it. I am also interested in a Facebook group. I admire the witness you have here and the work you are doing for our Savior! What a Blessing! Thank you!

  21. I’ve been thinking about the same thing; wanting to commit more time and meditation on the Word of God in 2015. This is a great idea! Thank you sweet Cyndi!

  22. Cyndi,
Thank you for this opportunity! I just signed the pledge and am excited about a short but focused Bible study to get back in gear. I also wanted to let you know how much I enjoy your blog. I just recently subscribed when I signed up for the Build Your Wardrobe Basics challenge a while back. I love all the fashion ideas for women over 40, but mostly I admire how your love of Jesus shines through on your blog.

  23. Hi Cyndi,

Yes I am in on the Study and I love the idea of a facebook group. Thank you so much for all the great ideas and encouragement you post.

  24. Took the pledge, downloaded the study Bible and ready to get 15-day FOCUSed! Would love to be a part of the Facebook group. Cyndi, thank you for always reminding us about our inner and outer beauty! 😉

  25. Thanks so much for offering this chance to do a study together with other women who are wanting to draw closer to God in the new year. I’m so excited. I’ve shared this opportunity with my readers on my blog, Pinterest, and Google+. Hopefully it will bring others to your blog to not only sign up for this opportunity, but to get a daily heart fix through your words of wisdom! Blessings, Cyndi!

  26. Thank you for involving us in your 15 day Bible Sudy! I love these and take advantage of them at our church also! You are a blessing and would love to meet you in person someday!

  27. This is an answer to prayer. I am desperately in need of Jesus and a deeper relationship with him. It is funny, I have been a Christian for so many years, but I have always had that “not me” kind of mentality. Basically I was never going to be good enough. I need this. I am climbing on board. I stopped by Katie’s site to listen to one of her podcasts first, because she is totally new to me. I was immediately blessed. Thank you! I can’t wait to get started!

  28. You are surely God’s ambassador here on earth. I can’t tell you the number of times that I’ve come to your blog and found exactly the words I needed.

  29. Hi Cyndi,
I want to order the starter kit for the essential oils but I do not want to give out my social security number. Can I place an order without it since I only want the oils for my personal use?
