How I Use My Essential Oils On a Daily Basis

I’m so excited to be a part of this Embracing Wellness Series! Today I’m sharing How I Use My Essential Oils On a Daily Basis.

Since writing the post about 3 Reasons I Use Essential Oils for Menopause, I get bombarded with emails about essential oils. Many of us are struggling with menopausal symptoms and we don’t know what to do.

3 Reasons I Use Essential Oils For Menopause
I have had women email me about personal problems they are having and they are too embarrassed to even share it with their doctor.

If you are peri-menopausal, menopausal or post menopausal and are suffering, YOU ARE NOT ALONE. The problem that most of us have is that the medications that are prescribed have a lot of unwanted side effects. If you’re like me, you’re scared to take them.

That’s when I did a lot of research for a more natural remedy. I started with some over the counter stuff I found at Walmart but that didn’t help.

I then researched essential oils and they have been my lifesaver! Here’s the bottom line, there are choices and we have to decide which way we want to go. I prefer using essential oils but you do what works best for you!

I use the following oils, and then some days, I add more depending on what I need. I’ll tell you about the ones I add in a future post.

One thing that I’m super excited about with Young Living is all their nutritional supplements. I want to take more in the very near future. The one supplement that I drink everyday (and so does my husband) is NingXia Red. We drink 2 ounces every morning.

Here’s what 1 oz. of NingXia Red is equal to:

Here’s what it does:

  • Promotes wellness, energy, and vigor
  • Protects the body and contributes to better health
  • Assists with mild memory problems associated with aging (hello, I need this!)
  • Helps maintain normal blood pressure and blood sugar levels
  • Supports a healthy immune system
  • Neutralizes 4 most dangerous free radicals
  • Helps maintain cholesterol levels already in the normal range
  • Alleviates the blues and helps promote emotional well-being
  • Contains the highest antioxidant food known, the Ningxia Wolfberry

I told you before I use Joy over my heart everyday. Joy is a luxuriously exotic blend with uplifting overtones that creates magnetic energy and brings joy to the heart. When worn as cologne or perfume, Joy exudes an alluring and irresistible fragrance that inspires romance and togetherness.

I use Clary Sage and Ylang Ylang for menopause. We’ve gone over this but these 2 oils are lifesavers! I have finally ordered Progessence Plus (it’s been out of stock) which is supposed to be amazing. I will share this oil with you after I’ve used it for a few weeks.

Alright, I know a lot of you will have questions so ask away! I’ll do my best to answer all of them. 🙂

Beauty for the Heart~~I shared this quote on Facebook a couple of days ago. I think there’s a lot of truth in it. We’re so quick to say what we’re against and what we don’t like but truthfully people aren’t going to listen until they know our heart.

“People need to know your heart before they hear your opinion.”

Believe me, I have some strong opinions but some people may not know my heart so I’m careful what I say on social media. I want my life to reflect Christ!

Have a blessed day!

  1. I do not even know how I ended up here, but I thought this post was great.
I don’t know who you are but definitely you are going to a famous blogger if you aren’t already 😉 Cheers!

  2. Hi Cyndi, I love YL oils! I’ve tried the lemon in my morning water but it just floats on top. Some friends suggested I put a bit of salt or sugar in my glass first, add the oil to that then add the water. I’m not interested in sugar or salt in my water. Any other ideas?

  3. Hi Cyndi! I tried the Ylang Ylang as you suggested for my menopause issue (thanks for your reply to my email on this subject), but it hasn’t helped. I’ve given it about a month now. Should I add Clary Sage and/or Progessence Plus to see if that would help? I’ll take the hot flashes over this part of menopause any day. Thank you!

    1. Lori I would definitely try the Clary Sage and the Progessence Plus. The PP is supposed to really help!!
Also, I would use the ylang ylang more than what you’re using it. If you’re using it twice a day, up it to three.
      Hope that helps!!

  4. Hi Cyndi,

Thanks again for explaining how you use your oils. I’m really wanting to get into them and I have married daughters with small children who are interested also. I’m just curious though the ones you mention are not the ones that come in the starter kit. What would be better for me. I need the menopausal one, so should i buy these separate and not get the kit? And if i become a member what is the cost of young living per bottle (aprox)? I have so many questions. I agree with a previous email. It can be overwhelming.

    Thanks again,

    Leslie

  5. Thanks for your update on how you are using them. After talking with your sister at Panera a couple of times last fall I jumped in and love the oils I started using the Ylang Ylang and Clary Sage because of your recommendations and they have helped. I haven’t tried the Progessence Plus yet as what I’m using is great. Look forward to your input on this. Love using the oils in so many ways. Still have a lot to learn though. Thank you.

  6. re the writer comments about the smell: does anyone else have a challenge with hubby’s dislike of the smells ? Normally, he just does not have a sense of smell but the oils seem to give him fits.

    1. My husband had a little trouble at first. I introduced them slowly. I would put 2 drops in the diffuser and then started adding more.
I think when they don’t like them, it means they need them! 🙂
Just my opinion. Also, I’m not sure what type you’re using but that does make a difference.
      Blessings,
      Cyndi

  7. Hi Cindi, I have been waiting for progessence plus also. If it said back ordered on my packing slip will it automatically be sent to me? I purchased my kit thru you. Thanks!

  8. Any suggestions for how to keep from smelling like the inside of an organic herb shop (i.e. rosemary, peppermint, etc.)? I’ve tried a couple of different varieties of these oils and just can’t get past the smell. Maybe my sense of smell is over active, who knows?! It’s not that the oil itself smells unpleasant, but I just don’t want to continue to smell like the oil all day. Helpful tips for how to counteract this would be appreciated.

    1. Hey Jill,
First, are you using Young Living oils?
I’m going to assume your are. Start off slow. If you don’t like the smell put the oil on the bottom of your feet. That area works great and you don’t have to smell it.
My favorite one to wear out is JOY. I get compliments on it all the time. People always ask what I’m wearing.
      Hope that helps!!
      Cyndi

  9. Does any of it help with menopausal mood swings? I’ve always had moodiness with periods, now with menopause, I find the same thing. I’m on a bit of Prozac but want to get off of it.

    1. Yes!!!!!!! Joy is a huge help. So is ylang ylang and clary sage. I’m hoping Progessence Plus is going to help with this too.
      Blessings,
      Cyndi

      1. Yes Paula, You can put a drop of Progessence Plus on the inside of your forearms. Some people put it on the front of their neck.
I’m going to do my forearms one time a day and then see what I need from there.
        Blessings,
        Cyndi

  10. I’ve been using YLEO’s for a few months and love them! My husband and I were already planning to start the NingXia Red with our next ER order. I’m curious – do you just do a 2 oz. shot straight each morning or 1 oz. twice a day or do you mix with something else, i.e. a smoothie?? Just curious. Thanks, Cindy.

    1. My husband and I just started the NingXia Red yesterday. We started with 1oz in the morning and 1oz in the evening. I’m curious about which is the best as well. He said he has so much energy today. He is relatively healthy. I have a few health issues and I can’t really tell that much difference today. Hopefully after a few more rounds I will start feeling better.

      1. Felecia I think either way is fine. Here’s what I do:
        I drink 2 ounces every morning. I add 2 drops of Vitamin D>>this http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0046LA31U/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B0046LA31U&linkCode=as2&tag=walingraandbe-20&linkId=2QQMNFTHYC4VO6YZ
The vitamin D is not from Young Living, I order it on Amazon.
I think you can drink 1 ounce in the morning and 1 in the evening and I think that’s fine too!
        Blessings,
        Cyndi

  11. Good Morning! I finally took the plunge and bought the premier starter kit through your link. I have NO idea what to do with any of the oils…but friends of mine swear by them..and I’m always up for an ‘adventure’! 😉 Looking forward to learning more!
