Summer Fashion-Pop Of Leopard Print

26 Days of Summer Fashion (Day 11)

I’m so glad it’s Friday! It’s been Vacation Bible School week for us, and I’m exhausted, need I say more?

It’s Day 11 of my 26 Days of Summer Fashion and I’m keeping it simple. No rompers around here today. 🙂

If you stopped by my house and said let’s go get a bite to eat, and I had to get dressed quickly, this would be my go-to outfit. White jeans, a black blouse and leopard print sandals. Perfect summer style.

What is your go-to summer outfit?

Some of you asked if I would share some other bloggers with you. I found an over fifty blog called fifty, not frumpy. I don’t know her age but I think she’s older than me. She dresses how I feel I will dress as I get older. She still wears heels which I love!!

She also wears tunics and longer sleeves which I know some of you have said you like to wear. I just thought I would share her blog with you.

I love a classic look but at 48 years old, I still love to pop some trendy pieces. I wear sleeveless tops and shorts but I don’t know if I always will.

I’ll never say never, and trends do come back around and some of them I may wear even if I did wear them in my twenties. That’s just the way I roll!

I shared this on Instagram yesterday. 25 years of ministry has taught me that I will never please everyone.

I would add I want to be me, but I want to be passionately seeking Christ. I want to be more and more like Him and I still have a long way to go!

My goal is to know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death. Philippians 3:10 (HCSB)

I’m so glad you are joining me on my 26 Days of Summer Fashion! Don’t miss a post, Subscribe to my blog through email. You can also follow me on social media. I’m on FacebookInstagram and Pinterest!

  1. I am 64 and very petite with a muffin waist. Should I wear heeled shoes to make me look taller.
I come from Zimbabwe so shopping is rather limited, would have to sew myself or get a dressmaker.

  2. I found ” Fifty Not Frumpy” also several weeks ago. I enjoy subscribing to her blog and her style as well. I am age 54 but still coloring my hair a brunette shade. I love your hair color. It is so pretty. What shade does your colorist use if you don’t mind me asking!

You look fabulous in black and white and I love the pop of leopard on the feet!

I love your fashion style and spiritual inspiration too. Keep up the great job Cyndi! Blessings to you and your family.

    1. Beth, check for a post a few weeks ago titled “How I Style My Hair.” Cyndi shared the color formula (1/2 4 and 1/2 5NA, with a Goldwell color glaze on top for shine) in that post.

    2. Hey Beth!
My hair stylist uses this formula: 1/2-4 and 1/2-5NA. After she colors my hair she adds Goldwell clear gloss at the end to help with shine.
Thanks so much for stopping by!!
      Cyndi

  3. I always enjoy your posts and look forward to them daily!!!!! Love your style!!! You really are a blessing to all of us. Thank you!!!!

  4. Thank you so much for sharing my blog with your readers Cyndi. I have always enjoyed seeing your posts and Pinterest pictures. Keep up the great work!

  5. Hey
I’m sorry but that fifty not frumpy looks older than 50.
I’m 51 and I’m not wearing tunics. I try to make sure I’m not exposed but I do not dress like an old lady. I’ll stick to your fashion suggestions Cyndi.

    1. She is older than 50. If you looked at her blog it speaks to women “50 and older” but not frumpy. It also says she is 58. I think she is very lovely and admire her style. And I don’t think she dresses like an “old lady” at all. I will now follow her blog and Cyndi’s. They both are stylish women!!!

      1. I agree I started following her also and both these ladies rock….their styles are amazing and they soooo inspire me!!! Susan dresses like I enjoy dressing and I am learning so much from her already!!! And Cyndi has amazing ideas and smart fashion sense as well. I am really enjoying both blogs and FB pages

  6. Last year you showed a similar outfit which I copied. I love that look! I really feel God has put you right where you were meant to be on this blog! You touch many with your style and scripture quotes.

  7. Another perfect outfit for you – no wonder it’s a “go to!” I have always had a winter “go to” outfit (black cashmere turtleneck, good jeans and black boots worn with a unique black onyx and silver pendant necklace) but always struggle with summer clothes. The Texas heat makes it hard to transition from outdoors to indoors when the A/C is cranked up so high every where you go. I have a “casual” first date this weekend and was really struggling with what to wear. Thanks to this post, I’m going with white jeans and a black top from LOFT that is sheer, but has three-quarter sleeves and will look good over a cami with the black and silver pendant necklace. Thanks not only for the fashion inspiration, but for the quote, which is a good reminder to just be myself on this date, instead of what I might think he’s looking for. Hope you get some well-deserved post-VBS rest, and have a blessed weekend!

      1. Thanks, Cyndi! As it turns out, I’m going to have to save this new “go to” outfit for another occasion. When I found out that my prospective suitor was not open to church attendance, worship and service, I cancelled our plans to meet. (Of course, he identified himself as “Christian” but wanted no part of organized religion.) No reason to waste anyone’s time, since that’s a dealbreaker for me. If God has a future partner for me, he’ll be capable of being the spiritual leader of our household, and we’ll worship and serve together in a local church. The quote you included in this post resonates even more clearly with me now; apparently I am “too Christian” for some people, but that’s okay!

          1. Ladies i agree with you 100%. If you dont have time to God then I ain’t got time you. Cyndi great style and spiritual advice. You go Girl

  8. I enjoyed your look today. Also, I have. Been an avid reader of the blog you mentioned and enjoy her. I do a blend of both blogs, ha!

  9. Hi! I love reading your blog.
Thanks for sharing about the other blog, Fifty Not Frumpy. She is a pretty lady.
I sometimes watch “Hot and Flashy” video tutorials on You tube ( I know, the name could sound kind of fishy). I think she is in her forties and has a lot of good skin, makeup, and fashion tips.

  10. Thus far, my “go to” oufit has been a long printed skirt with a solid coordinating short sleeve top. I need to buy a pair of white jeans and solid top. I have lacked confidence in myself for years and am very bad at comparing myself to other ladies. Your blog is helping me to stop doing that. And you’re reminding me that all of us are beautiful in Gods eyes. We are individuals and all of us are not to be a size 6. I am definitely going to check out the fiftynotflimpy blog since I am close to turning 59. Yes, I know all about a week of Vacation Bible School. It’s very rewarding, but tiring. Have a blessed weekend!

    1. Yeah Ginger, so glad you’re not comparing yourself to other women. We all have a tendency to do that but we are each unique.
Beauty begins on the inside! 🙂
      Cyndi

  11. I also went over to the fifty not frumpy website, what a gorgeous gal! Have you heard of any “60” and older sites? Of course, I so enjoy reading your blog every day, so inspiring. And I love, love the outfits! Thanks to you, I have ordered from Glamour Farms, started using the CoverFX, some of your recommendations, etc…Thank you for all of the ideas and hard work you put into this each and every day. Especially the scriptures!! You are just the cutest!! Look forward to reading every day!
    Diane

    1. Oh Diane I’m so glad some of my recommendations have worked for you. 🙂 I don’t know of any over 60 blogs, but if I see one, I’ll definitely mention it.
      Have a wonderful Sunday!
      Cyndi

  12. A black top (3/4 sleeves) and white denim along with leopard flats is my go-to outfit! I love this classic look. I imagine after 25 years in the ministry you have seen it all. You can never please everyone, so like you said, we should work on being pleasing to God and growing more Christ-like. I fall short but I keep on trying. Thanks for your blog, you and Susan from Fiftynotfrumpy are the two I read each day.

  13. The quote you shared today really struck a cord with me, very encouraging. I love your blog. This is my first time to comment so I hope I’m doing this right. I was divorced at 45, after 25 years of marriage. Breast cancer at 49. Needless to say my femininity took a hit. Hair gone, body parts missing. Your blog, with God’s grace, helped me to see that it was okay to be a woman again. To feel like a girl. I’ll bet you didn’t know what a ministry you were starting. Keep at it. You bless me.

    1. Rhonda, thank you for sharing this. I’m so so thankful you are feeling like a woman again! You have been through a lot but what an amazing testimony.
I can take any credit for this ministry, it’s all HIM.
      Have a wonderful Sunday!
      Cyndi

  14. Love your outfit! Sometimes I think we have a “go to” and don’t even realize it. Rhoda at Southern Hospitality (southernhospitalityblog.com) has started doing periodic posts on Fashion Over Fifty. Her blog is primarily other things, but Rhoda is a lovely, gracious woman and her fashion sense is very much in line with Cyndi’s. Check her out.

  15. Hi Cyndi. What I have always loved and admired about you is that you “keep in real” in all areas of your life, never making excuses when things don’t go as you would prefer, but getting up, brushing yourself off, and going forward, asking God to show you the path and lessons to learn from your experiences. I have been blessed to have you on my life.

    1. Thank you Vicki! I do “keep it real” and I have definitely learned some lessons the hard way (smile). But God is so good, isn’t he?
      Love you friend,
      Cyndi

  16. Now this is my kind of outfit (sorry, romper!!! lol)!!! So pretty and so flattering!

Thanks for sharing the other blog; I’ll check that out. She is a beautiful woman.

  17. Cyndi, in reply to your statement that you want to be you, I always tell my first graders that I’m very glad they were not cut out from cookie-cutters. If they were all just alike, I’d never be able to tell them apart! :-). Each one is special, and I’m so glad they are each unique!

God made us all in His image. I try to remember the verse that states “He must become greater; I must become less”. (John 3:30)

  18. I love this outfit, this would definitely be a go to outfit for me also! I would probably throw a navy top on and different sandals for another go to outfit, I definitely agree with the quote you placed on IG, I feel like I am always being judged, its been that way since I was a teenager, if I lost weight, if I gained weight, if I won something, if I was nominated for something, if I have money, if I don’t have money, what car I’m driving, the house I live in, there has been good and bad in all of the above, somebody ALWAYS has something to say! I’ve always said I have enough to handle in my own life I don’t want to get involved in someone else’s business, my mom says people want to make ugly comments to make themselves feel better about their own unfortunate circumstances, it’s hard to overlook I know. You’re an attractive woman who does not look her age, you take care of yourself and other people are always gonna have a problem with that! Its really sad for the people who make the comments and for those of us who are hurt by the comments. I hope you have a great afternoon! 🙂 (sorry, this just touched a nerve with me)

    1. Debbie, at the risk of sounding like one big cliché I must say “been there done that”.
I am so marveling at all the non messy folks wearing the white pants. 1- already being long legged the white seems to magnify the imbalance and I could go out to eat every day for a year and not sit on something or spill some of that lunch I was invited out to and on the 1st day of the next year my white pants would fall victim to everything possible.

  19. I love that you shared Fifty Not Frumpy with your followers. I have been following Susan from Fifty Not Frumpy for a while. She is 58 and fabulous. She has great style. The two of you are my favorite bloggers. Love both of your styles.

  20. I am heading over to fifty not frumpy right after I say hi here. I am crowding 60 but still want to add some fun, trendy pieces to my wardrobe. I have begun to realize that I need to find trendiness in something other than the super high heels I used to love to wear. I can relate to covering up my arms (yours look great)and wearing light layers even in the summer. There’s always an AC making me chilly once the heat flash is over. I think I am going to have to get some leopard sandals and then your Go-To look can become one of mine! Enjoy your weekend.

  21. Love this, and I often wear a black top and white bottoms, too. I don’t love my midsection, but the gams are still okay, so I work with what I have. 🙂 Thank you for your encouragement and style tips.

  22. I love your outfit today and would for sure wear it myself and I’m over 60! I also follow Fifty, not Frumpy and she is a very classy dresser 🙂 Thanks for all the work you put into your blog!

  23. Now that’s my kind of outfit! Definitely a go to for me as well. I like the “50, not frumpy” blogger you shared. Her outfit is beautiful and classy!!

  24. I have the same exact outfit on today myself. White Jeans, black top, leopard print flats. It is a great go to outfit. Love you style. Look forward to it every day. Have a great weekend.

  25. I love your “go to” outfit…in fact, I am wearing a similar outfit today! My sleeveless top is navy blue with off-white jeans. I paired them with my super comfortable navy blue sandals and very simple jewelry. I LOVE summer clothes!

  26. I’m 26 & I love your style! A lot of these outfits would work for me, even on casual days at the office! So nice and refreshing to see a blog that incorporates Christ as well! Looking forward to more posts!
