26 Days of Fall Fashion (Day 25)Welcome to Day 25 of my 26 Days of Fall Fashion. One of my favorite fall trends this year is the poncho. I can’t seem to get enough of them.

As soon as our weather cools down (it’s supposed to this week) I’m going to be wearing me some ponchos!

I don’t know about you but Old Navy is always a hit or miss with me. Some of their stuff looks cheaply made but then sometimes I can find some really nice pieces.

This poncho was a keeper and one that will be great for fall and winter. I love the geometric print, I’m seeing a lot of that print this fall too.

For size reference I’m wearing the XS-Small poncho and it is still plenty big on me. 🙂

  1. Cyndi, I bought this poncho style sweater on Saturday evening. I went to Old Navy bc I got an email saying they had ponchos for $10!!! When I got there, I was informed they had sold out by noon of all $10 ponchos and when I showed her your picture they told me that particular poncho wasn’t part of the $10 promo…so I decided to cruise the store just to see if they had any of this particular one left…they did…2!!! There was a small and a large…the large was enormous on me…I tried on the small and it fit….strange bc I’m not a small at all. Just wanted to let you know you got me to buy something again!!! Thanks for all you do to show us the latest and greatest!!!

  3. After reading the comments/reply I see you use the poncho as a sweater-was wondering if that would mess your hair up a lot. I think it would be cute with burgundy or cobalt pants.

    1. so excited I found you on pintrest! I am 49 with two daughters and three grandkids, I wanted a new look for work but didn’t know where to start. I love the look and I am having so much fun shopping. My girls love the new me and have taken some of the outfit ideas for themselves.

  6. This outfit is super cute. Do you wear the poncho as outerwear only? If not, don’t you get warm wearing it inside? I want to know because I love the look.

    1. No I treat it like a sweater not as outerwear. I don’t take sweaters off when I go inside so I wouldn’t take this off either.

    1. I wore these boots shopping all day and they were comfortable BUT they don’t have a lot of foot padding. I don’t think they run narrow at all. I could wear a thin footie with these.

  11. What body types do you think ponchos work best for? I’m just not sure I can pull it off. I feel like it would make me look bigger since there is no shape to it. Maybe I just haven’t found the right one. I see small and large women wearing them and think they look very nice. Why do I feel frumpy and bulky?

    And I totally agree about Old Navy–it’s typically more miss than hit for me.

  12. I love the poncho on you so much that I went over to Old Navy. I have to say, the pic of the model for Old Navy, did not do it justice. It was hanging on you perfectly and it helped to know that you got a size XS. I think we are pretty much the same size on things. The boots are just darling on you and work great with this adorable poncho.

  13. I love poncho’s, too!!! I have one that was my mother’s and it is probably 40 years old and has the aztec print on it but it is acrylic and so warm for the south. The one your are wearing is so cute on you!! Love Mother Teresa!! Have a blessed day!!

  15. Such a cute outfit. I love the look of Ponchos, but feel like I am in a straight jacket and I can’t get my arms free. Also, I am always dragging an edge through some type of food when I go to reach or work in the kitchen. Probably reveals some “deep psychological” issue! LOL!
    Love them though! Maybe an outside only look for me?
    Quick question for you Cyndi…what brand are your “go to” skinny jeans? I am a pear shape and find so many are too big at the waste. I have 2 pair. They are both size 6. (Eddie Baurer and Levi) Levi brand is a better fit.
    You seem to wear more Wit and Wisdom. Is that your favorite?

    1. Sally, I’m pear shaped also. I found that if I buy a lower waisted jean, they fit me better. I have Wit and Wisdom, Vince Camuto and some Loft. Good luck!

  16. I love ponchos too. In fact I would rather wear a poncho than a jacket/coat. There’s that handbag again that I love. I just took the plunge and ordered it. I hope it’s just as beautiful in person. 😉

  17. Cyndi, Do the boots have any arch support in them? I love the outfit and especially the poncho. I don’t shop at Old Navy too often because, like you, I’m not always satisfied with the quality.

    1. No Ginger I don’t think they have a lot of arch support. But I did wear them shopping all day and they were comfortable but if you need arch support they might not work.

  21. I love the look of this outfit but what I struggle with is what type of coat to wear over it.
    My coats are either waist length and the sweater sticks out making it look ridiculous or just too fancy for a casual look. 🙁

    1. I have this same issue. If I buy a poncho it would have to be one I would be comfortable with a winter coat. But I never know which one or how to wear it that way. I will be watching to see if others give you advice.

      Btw, Cyndi you look adorable as always. I love this look on you and I agree with the other person who commented that you styled this poncho much better than they did on the ON website! Great outfit. Love this series and sad to see it ending! thanks for the great ideas ladies.

      The styles this year are over sized coats which would work. I also think a longer trench coat would look good too.
      I could wear this for a while in KY without a coat especially if I’m just outside for a minute. 🙂
