Affordable Fall Fashion With Payless Shoe SourceThose of you who know me, won’t be surprised that I picked an ankle boot with some fringe on it. I have been wanting a pair of these boots but didn’t want to pay a high end price.

The Siesta Fringe Ankle Boot was just what I was looking for! I wore this outfit on a field trip with my grandson and these boots were comfortable enough to wear all day with preschoolers. That’s a pretty good test!

Beauty for the Heart~~I have shared with you before how my Mom loved poems. She had shared this poem when writing for our local newspaper. It made me smile when I read it.

Wouldn’t this old world be better
If the folks we meet would say –
“I know something good about you!”
And treat us just that way?

Wouldn’t it be fine and dandy
If each handclasp, fond and true,
Carried with it this assurance –
“I know something good about you!”

Wouldn’t life be lots more happy
If the good that’s in us all
Were the only thing about us
That folks bothered to recall?

Wouldn’t life be lots more happy
If we praised the good we see?
For there’s such a lot of goodness
In the worst of you and me!

Wouldn’t it be nice to practice
That fine way of thinking, too?

You know something good about me;
I know something good about you. Louis C. Shimon

  1. Love coming to your blog EVERY day! Thinking of you and your family today as you add another to it!! Happy day for you all!!!! 🙂

  2. I went to the Payless website after reading your blog and was amazed! There is a Payless close to my house but I’ve never gone inside, thinking the shoes would be really yucky. You’ve proven otherwise – thank you!

You look great in the booties, by the way.

  3. Hi Cyndi,
Have been following your blog for the past month and have to tell you that your blog post inspired a trip to Payless…AND I bought a pair of leopard flats (Dena smoking loafers)! I even got my 2 daughters’ approval, too. Score!

Wore them out in the afternoon and was absolutely fine. I also wanted to share that I saw your exact bootie with fringe at a high-end shoe store and thought of you!

  4. I also bought these booties a few weeks ago & love them. I love shoes & Payless is a good option to try trendier options without spending a lot of money on them. I feel less guilty if I end up not loving them – 😄

  5. I do like the booties, just not a big fan of the ponchos. I see them in stores everywhere. But, was at an evening and nighttime outdoor event last week with thousands of people in attendance, didn’t see one poncho. Most women wore cardigans or vests, which is also my preference. Have a wonderful weekend!!

  6. Cyndi, I always leave your blog leaving uplifted and encouraged in my insides and outsides. 😉
Thank you for the post on those super cute booties. Sometimes I like to try things in a less expensive manner when deciding if I like a trend/feel like it’s “me” or not. Blessings, my friend who lives in my computer. Hugs to you.

  7. I have only been following your blog for a few weeks and you always look great. Can’t believe you are a grandmother. Love the poncho!

  8. Hey Cyndi,
Your hair always looks awesome….longer or when it is shorter. How is your new longer style cut? What would be a good way your stylist would describe it to another stylist?
Thanks so much for any information!

    1. Right now it’s cut as a longer bob if that makes sense. It’s slightly shorter in the back and it’s layered throughout. I’m terrible at explaining!!

  9. I have never had any suede or faux suede booties or shoes of any kind. Especially in this light color, would they be difficult to keep clean? They are beautiful, but I wonder if I am too much of a clutz to handle them 🙂

  10. I have these booties and have been wearing them all fall. They are super comfy and I always get compliments on them.

  11. Thanks for a budget friendly trendy look. So tired of blogs styling items that are crazy expensive. Those booties are very cute and I’ll be heading to Payless to check them out. Have been following you for a few months now, but my first comment. You always look fantastic!

  12. What a lovely poem! Reminds me of how much God loves each of us & sees the good in us (me) & forgives! Love your poncho, I’m going to check out the booties 🙂

  13. The poem is very encouraging and I will work on seeing the good in others more! Love the booties! You are a dear Cyndi!

  14. I have not tried the bootie trend yet,but have been keeping my eye on it, love these and the price is right:)

  15. I appreciate the fact that you shared booties from a reasonably priced retail store today. I follow your blog and look forward to seeing what you are styling everyday. But unfortunately, more often than not, the links shared are for items not within my budget. Would love to see more outfits put together and shared for ladies like me with a tight budget.

    1. Thank you for sharing that!! I do try to share from different price points (except high end) but I will continue to look for more budget friendly.
      Blessings,
      cyndi

    1. Hey Larissa, I wear no shoe socks. Hue is a good brand. But I bought some nude no show socks from Payless and wore them all day with my boots and they never came off.
      Hope that helps!
      Cyndi

  16. Hahahaha! I was going to ask at “the sock” question too. I don’t have any booties yet but I am looking for some. I love your mother’s poem. I was wondering if you cared if I copied just the poem for our Church newsletter?

    1. Hey Debbie,
I wear no shoe socks. Hue is a good brand. But I bought some nude no show socks from Payless and wore them all day with my boots and they never came off.

Yes you can use the poem. I added the authors name, I forgot to earlier!! 🙂
      Hope that helps!

  17. Love your posts always. But thank you especially for sharing your Mom’s poem. I guess the holidays creeping up have me thinking about my sweet Mom more recently. They thought alike!

  18. I really enjoy your blog, fashion ideas, inspiration messages and your beautiful smile. God Bless You and your Family

  19. Love the fringe ankle boots! Thank you for also sharing your mom’s beautiful poem.. These are certainly words to live by and ones we all need to take to heart. I enjoy your posts very much but this is the first time I’ve made a comment. Thank you and I look forward to more fall fashion.

  20. I know lots of good things about you, Cyndi, from your blog. Thank you for your great fashion & Christian inspirations.

  21. Those booties are adorable and look really good with your outfit! Thank you for sharing the poem, very inspirational!

  22. I like this outfit, very fall and comfy. I do have a question…when I wear my “booties” I really don’t like to go without socks. I bought some of the footie type of socks, but frankly they’re terrible. They won’t stay on my feet. So my question is – what do you wear with yours? I notice that I don’t see socks in the pictures here.

    1. That was my question also! I’ve been wondering what type of sock to wear with the booties. I really don’t like my feet to sweat in the shoe. Love the poncho Cyndi!

    2. Hey Sharon,
I wear no shoe socks. Hue is a good brand. But I bought some nude no show socks from Payless and wore them all day with my boots and they never came off.
      Hope that helps!
