Beauty For The Heart-You Have Been My God

Beauty For The Heart-You Have Been My GodI woke up this morning and turned on the news. The news is depressing. Terror threats are everywhere. It would be easy to live in fear.

If that’s not enough, I have friends who are dealing with cancer, some have recently lost a loved one. There are shootings and drugs and the list could go on.

I could tell you struggles that we have dealt with, within our own family, over the last year. I could share with you my failures (and there are many).

My guess (because many of you email me) is that you have struggles, and you deal with fears. I know many of you have lost a parent and even worse some of you have lost a child.

We could probably all say “Life’s been a journey, I’ve seen joy, I’ve seen regret.”

But the next line is my hope, “Oh and You have been my God through all of it.”

Through every season, through the joys, through the pain, my hope is in Christ!

You are my God, and I will praise you; you are my God, and I will exalt you. Psalm 118:28

This is an older song by Colton Dixon but I had not watched this video. It is such a good reminder that God is with us. He has a plan and a purpose for our lives!

Have you seen God’s faithfulness in your life?

Have a blessed day!

  1. My feelings exactly! Thank you for sharing this. You are such a good person and an inspiration! It’s nice to know that in a world filled with terror and fear, we are on the winning side, isn’t it?

  2. I love this post, it was such a lovely read and very eye-opening. I say, everything happens for a reason – struggles in life are put there to be part of the journey so I always try to keep my chin up and stay positive 🙂

    lovely blog post idea xx

  3. God’s timing is perfect. In the past 24 hours, my husband announced that he doesn’t think he loves me anymore and that he doesn’t want God in our marriage and that my son will be going to jail for the third time. This is confirmation that even in the chaos, I can hand it ALL over to Him and still have peace. Thank you so much for being a very practical light for God. I love how you keep it real.

  4. I like to remind myself that it is written 365 times in the Bible “DO NOT BE AFRAID” a scripture for everyday !!!! We are never alone and I stand on the word of God ! That is our weapon against FEAR and the enemy !

  5. Amen, Cindy. We are all just one hot mess most of the time, but God is our anchor — whether we are going through struggles ourselves or walking with a friend. It has been quite the year for us as well. Blessings!

  6. One of my favorite songs! Thank you for “keeping it real” and letting us know you are a genuine person with struggles just like the rest of us.
    Hugs from Knoxville!

  7. I always look forward to your Sunday posts. Always encouraging me to get my eyes off myself. THANK YOU!!!!! God’s got this.

    His
    Shari

  8. Along with several other very tough situations in the past few months, my husband has had to have open heart surgery. Several readers from this blog reached out to tell me they were praying. A co worker said to me, “how can you keep faith with all you have been through?” I told her it would have been so much harder WITHOUT the Lord! Cyndi, Thanks for providing us with this venue so that we can support one another no matter where in the world we are!

  9. By your post and the other comments, I know i am not alone in my sadness and life’s turmoils right now. Having a husband fighting the fight of his life (cancer) right now is a horrible thing to go through but I am reminded that God is with us every step of the way. Thank you for reminding me of this and God Bless all of you that are going through sad times right now. Prayers to you all!

    1. Hi Gail I just read your post. My husband has gone through cancer also this year, and I pray for your husband and yourself. I felt gods peace thru it, and it really helps.
I’ll pray for you and your husband.:)

      1. Thank you, Joanne. It has changed our lives and has made us appreciate every moment together. He is currently in the hospital for chemo cycle #5 with a touch of pneumonia so prayers are welcomed and so appreciated.

  10. Thank you for this timely reminder! I am hosting a memorial service today for a friend’s mother, and I will be the only Christian in attendance. I was feeling a lot of pressure to represent our faith well, but now I know God goes before me and He is big enough to handle this situation, as well as all others in my life. Hope you and your family have a blessed Thanksgiving week!

  11. Beautiful scripture and song…..words to hold on and cling to as we walk thru life. Thank you Cyndi for blessing us through our LORD!

  12. Cyndi,
As usual I look forward to your daily emails. It’s almost like a friend calling you daily to check in.
Today’s post spoke volumes to me. We have had a rough year with loss and cancer. I have had three devastating losses this year. The last one was this past Tuesday. Some days it’s hard to find the good and pull yourself up daily. I love your use of HOPE! I needed that today.
    Thank you!
    Missy

  13. Cyndi,
I haven’ posted a comment in some time but I have been keeping up with you posts. Tomorrow, my 24 year old daughter is about to have her 3rd surgery this year. She’s not been upset or panicked until last night. I haven’t seen this video before either but I am glad you shared it. We all need the encouragement. Thanks so much and I hope you have a wonderful rest of the year my friend!

  14. Love that song!
Praise God he is so faithful!
Thru divorce , move and many day to
    Day struggles!
    Keep pressing on girls!
Gods got this and we Hv a choice everyday to follow him!

  15. Thank you so much for this, I am going through family issues that are only in Gods control, this has blessed me so much today!

  16. This message keeps appearing before me, so it is past time for me to absorb it and accept it. The struggle and storms have been overwhelming, but God hasn’t faltered, I have. Thank you

  17. What beautiful message to start this Sunday! Thank you for sharing… the video brought tears to my eyes. God IS SO FAITHFUL!! We are so blessed to have Him in our lives. He is in control of all things…. even what’s going on in the news. I always try to remind myself that He wins in the end. It will all be done for His glory! God bless. Have an awesome day!

  18. Cindy, what an inspirational message! Yes, He has been my God through ALL my family’s trials and heartaches. Yet, even when I have not been as faithful, His faithfulness to me has never faltered. Thank you for your faithfulness to Him in spreading His Word.
