Casual Coat-25 Days of Winter Fashion (Day 12)

Casual Coat-25 Days of Winter Fashion (Day 12)Happy hump day ladies!! Oh how I love the Thanksgiving holiday! Everyone is cooking and getting ready for an amazing Thanksgiving meal.

We go to our families for Thanksgiving so I only have to cook one dish, a broccoli casserole. But I have to fix it 3 times because we have 3 meals over the next few days. The first one starts tonight!

I shared yesterday about a hair product I have been using for several months. I try to use a new product for a while before I share it with you.

Well, it’s time to share this because it definitely gives me volume. Warning, if you don’t want volume, don’t use this!! Ha!

It’s Matrix Volume Builder and it. is. good. You’re  welcome! 🙂

Casual Coat-25 Days of Winter Fashion (Day 12)Today I’m sharing a classic anorak coat. It’s stylish and perfect for cold weather! This is my go to casual coat.

Lastly, I thought I would show you what I’m wearing tonight for our first Thanksgiving meal. This is my favorite faux fur vest. I might wear my black skinny jeans instead of these jeans. Our weather is going to be very mild so no bulky sweaters.

  1. I am a former hairstylist but still a current hair product addict. I’ve tried just about everything!!! I thought I would give this mousse a try. I LOVE IT! It’s not sticky or crunchy. Just does what it’s supposed to do and gave me lots of volume. I combine it with Crack hair treatment (that’s a must have for me….will never go without it again and I recommend it to everyone!!) and my hair turns out perfect. 🙂
Love your blog and your style tips and I’m even contemplating joining a church again…it’s been many, many years. I’ve never lost my faith in God but churches were another story. I guess I’ll just pray some more and ask Him for a little help in figuring out what the next step is. 🙂

    1. Hi Melanie!! I’m so glad you liked the Volume Builder. It is good stuff!!
I’m also glad you’re praying about going to church again. If I could say one thing, it’s there are no perfect churches. But I believe if you find a church that loves Jesus and His word, you will be blessed.
Go where you can serve….Blessings, Cyndi

  2. Gratitude grateful for so many things!
    Thank you lord!
    Grateful for your insight everyday!
But I like to have some Texas big hair
Eventhough I’m from Georgia living in Illinois! Thanks Hv to get some!
    Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

  3. Cyndi, I read your blog everyday and you never disappoint. I have gotten several tops you mentioned over the past months and love them. I like your style and the mix of Nordsrom and Target options.

  4. Kristie,
I also appreciate when Cyndi styles from Target and. Old Navy. I order clothing off-line, but a good portion of the time, I end up needing to return or exchange, so I strongly prefer to try before I buy when it comes to clothing. Glamour Farms has super adorable clothing, but with no customer reviews and no returns, I don’t feel it is a good option for me.
I just purchased some pixie pants from Old Navy, but unfortunately it will be my last purchase from that company.
I was looking for holiday pj’s for presents, and the children pajamas they are currently offering seem inappropriate and insensitive . They offer a pair that say, ” O come and let us adore me”. This purposeful twisting of such a meaningful carol feels disrespectful and unnecessary.
I have chose to share with in this forum because the dollar speaks, and I would want to know if a company I frequently shop at offered a similar product.
God bless everyone’s Thanksgiving, may He makes our hearts truly grateful

  5. I have so much to be thankful for….especially my 95 year old mom who lives in a nursing home. She will be joining us for Thanksgiving and she only requested we have sweet potatoes! I say at 95 she can have whatever she wants.

Hope your family has a very blessed Thanksgiving!

  6. Hi Cyndi,

I love both outfits! You always look great..Oh and thanks for the hair product tip : )

Have a blessed Thanksgiving with your family and friends!

  7. Happy Thanksgiving Eve Cyndi! Well I have been noticing your hair has been different and now I know it’s the new product! Thanks for sharing…I just ordered one from Amazon. Can’t wait to try it. My Aquage was getting low anyway. I love the fur vest along with the new olive jacket you’re wearing! Safety and blessings your way 😁

  8. I forgot to ask in my previous comment, can you buy the Matrix at Walmart / Target etc or is it only in a hair salon? Thx Cyndi 😉

  9. Cyndi, Thanks for the inspiration. For the Target shoppers, including myself, they have the faux fur vests and a number of different plaid shirts. Today’s look can be duplicated by what I have in my closet and adding a trendy piece such as the faux fur vest. The boyfriend cardigan Cyndi styled yesterday is 40% off at Target. Have a blessed Thanksgiving!

  10. Gosh, I LOVE the jacket, but I really have enough! I’m over here thinking and rethinking how I can justify it. 🙂 HA!
You are adorable and I love both your and Jo-Lynne’s blogs.
I didn’t want to have just my immediate family of 7 as I cook for them EVERYDAY! So I invited a family over that only has 3 of them this year.
My 24 year old daughter (who just moved out 2 weeks ago) is coming over today to help cook. I’m looking forward to that. She’s a sweetie.
My 30 year old daughter and our 4 year old granddaughter have lived with us for nearly 2 years (nasty divorce) along with my 20 year old son and 82 year old mom. And hubby, of course. We’re a FULL house!
It’s been a hard year, but I’m thankful we seem to be making progress.
We need some Grace and forgiveness to flow through this house, so if you’d like to pray for us, I love that!
    Happy Thanksgiving.

    1. Oh Michelle, I will pray for grace and forgiveness to flow through your house! May we all be full of grace and mercy this Thanksgiving season!
      Happy Thanksgiving,
      Cyndi

  11. Hi Cyndi,

Love your outfit today. The anorak coat and plaid shirt look great on you! Very good color scheme for you. I liked it when you styled more clothes from Target and Old Navy. It was much more affordable. Have a blessed Thanksgiving.

  12. Your hair always looks great! I use Paul Mitchell Extra Body. If you have used that, how does the Matrix product you shared compare with it? I love volume. 🙂

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!

  13. I am thankful to be sharing Thanksgiving with my family once more. My mom is 75 and in great shape. My husband, daughter and I will spend the day with my mom and other family members. Lots of food lots of laughter!
    Happy Thanksgiving to all.

  14. Hi Cyndi!
We are having our Thanksgiving meal at our home and bringing mom here from the Assisted Living facility to join in. There will only be the three of us and it will be very casual. I do already have the table set, with our fine china, and we’re going to make the pumpkin pie. Since my husband & I are watching our carb intake, we don’t do a lot of the yummy traditional side dishes.., and my 88 year old mom ears so little, that we don’t want to waste any food. I am preparing a Roasted Parmesan Broccoli dish by Publix, for the first time.
I thank God that my mom is enjoying life more now that she is around others in her age group & she is able to help look after a few of them that are worse off than she is. I am also thankful that I found your and Jo-Lynne’s blog online. What a blessing both of you are in so many ways!
I wish you and your family a very blessed Thanksgiving!

  15. Thankful? Oh my yes……the list is long! I love the outfit, so cute and I might have to check out the new hair product…..
Thank you Cyndi, have a blessed Thanksgiving with all whom you love and hold dear….everyone be safe out there!

  16. I think I will try the volumizer – I’ve tried so many and have not been impressed with any of them. Love both of your outfits – adorable! It’s going to be warm-ish here too (Ohio), and it usually gets hot inside when you’re cooking and there are lots of people around, so I’ll be wearing a lighter shirt similar to the ones you’re wearing under the jacket and vest. We’re usually pretty casual.

Happy Thanksgiving, Cyndi! Count me as another who is thankful for your blog!

  17. Due to raves by both you and Kate from The Small Things Blog, I have been using Aquage Uplifting Foam which I, too, have been loving. Do you like this new Matrix product better? Happy Thanksgiving to all!

    1. Yes!! I still use Aquage and love it! I try to rotate my products every couple of months. I think my hair gets used to them and they need a change.
      Happy Thanksgiving!!
      Cyndi

  18. Hi Cyndi!
My daughter and I wear the same size and wear each other’s clothes.
I loved when you had pieces from target. It was much more budget friendly.
My sister and I are cooking at my mom and dad’s house. They are both in their 80’s and going downhill fast with their mobility. ☹
Have a happy and blessed Thanksgiving, my dear. God bless you and your family.

  19. Love both of these looks. You always look great and so classy. I’m so glad I found your blog, as it is by far, my favorite.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving and may God continue to bless you and your family.

  20. Good morning Cyndi! I’m an 80’s girl so I always like a little volume in my hair too. I’ll be giving this hair product a try 🙂 have a blessed thanksgiving with your family… I hope you are taking a break from ” work ” tomorrow too 🙂 hugs my friend !
