Anti-Aging Skin Care Products

Anti-aging-productsThis year I’m going to focus on anti-aging skin care products. I’m going to try different ones and share my results with you.

I’m trying some new products and after I have use them for a while, I’ll let you know what I think. I try my best to stick with products that have fewer chemicals.

There are no regulations when it comes to beauty and skin care products and companies can put things in them that might help with wrinkles but they can also be dangerous for our bodies. Ugh!!

That’s one of the reasons I use Young Living skin care products because I know they have “good” things in them. I know everyone is not going to use essential oils so I want to have options for you.

Two products I have been using for a while are from Timeless Skincare (I found these products from Hot and Flashy). Serums are an important part of our skincare routine and I have been adding them to my skincare routine.

I have heard a lot about Vitamin C being good for your skin and wanted to try it. Vitamin C is an antioxidant that evens skin tone and helps build collagen.

The first product I have been using is Timeless 20% vitamin c + e ferulic acid serum.

Vitamin C serumThis product is:

non-greasy
dries fast and clear
natural and paraben free
cruelty free
more actives, less chemicals
no color dye added.
no fragrance added.
made in the USA

**Because of the Vitamin E in this product, it’s not recommended for oily skin.

The second product I have added is Timeless Matrixyl 3000 Serum. This product contains Matrikines, an anti-wrinkle complex which helps reverse the signs of aging.

Matrixzl 3000This product:

dries fast and clear
non-greasy
natural and paraben free
cruelty free
more actives, less chemicals

I use the Timeless Matrixyl 3000 Serum in the morning and the Timeless 20% vitamin c + e ferulic acid serum morning and night.

So far I like both products and I’m going to keep using them!

Have you tried any of these products from Timeless Skin Care??

  9. Rodan + Fields skincare line is created by the doctors who created Proctiv. They have 4 main regimens Redefine- aging & wrinkles, Reverse- spots & discoloration, Soothe- sensitive skin & Unblemish- acne & acne scars. I have used a multitude of products in the past but never could tell a difference in my complexion until I started using R + F. LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!

  10. Thank you, Cyndi. I have been looking for something like this. Came at just the right time. Look forward to trying it. Also it is very affordable which is nice. BTW you look amazing. Certainly not almost 50. More like 35. Another BTW, how are things with the new baby your sister adopted. I missed the post if you had one. Have a great weekend.

  11. Thanks for sharing …. I turn 50 this year too and it’s the first time For me having a hard to with an age milestone! I have been following you for over a year and appreciate all you do to help keep us feeling beautiful inside and out. Thank you Cyndi!

  12. You told me you were going to cover this this year – I’m beyond excited!! I turned 52 in December and I’m trying to fight the signs of aging in every way I can. THANK YOU THANK YOU for sharing every thing you try and learn.
BTW – you are very a VERY pretty woman – God did good on you!

  13. I missed your beauty for the heart today. I don’t know if it just didn’t come over on the web site or what. Thanks for always sharing your faith. The encouragement you give each day is really appreciated!

  14. I’ll be 50 in October! Happy to be in good company! Thanks for the tips – looking forward to future posts!

  15. Love everything you do!
    Also love all the comments.
I’m also a fan of Obagi and paulas choice. I’ve been using the bha from pc for several months and love the results. Especially on my neck. I use during the day and retina a at night. I have oily skin.
    Love bare minerals foundation.
My biggest problems are large pores, blackheads, and fading makeup. Can you and your readers add that to your list and give me direction?!

  16. I’m interested to read your reviews this year. You certainly look awesome for 49! I have an additional question/issue that I seem to be having. I’m 46 and recently noticed that my eyelashes seen more sparse and shorter. I think this is another one of those great (ha ha) side effects of getting older. Have you experienced this? Do you know anything that helps with this?

    1. Latisse has worked wonders on my sparse lashes. I used nightly until I got them longer and fuller, now I use every other night and sometimes skip a couple of nights. It is a bit costly, but if you find a dermatologist or plastic surgeon who sells they will typically have “sales” or specials on Latisse. Also there is a rewards program associated with Latisse and you earn $$ toward future purchases.

    2. RapidLash works beautifully for me and is affordable. I was receiving compliments in 4 weeks! RapidBrow is also a great product after years of no growth I now have to pluck my eyebrows again.

  17. I love Paula’s Choice skincare. It works great for me and is cruelty-free. I also get a little Botox for frown lines and laser for brown spots. I want to look as good as I can for as long as I can!

      1. Hi! My favorites are skin balancing cleanser (which I mix with a little baking soda for a gentle scrub) and toner, resist bha 2% lotion on my face and neck, bha9 on my nose for pore shrinkage, their eye cream, and the tinted moisturizer with antioxidants and sun screen. I’ve used Paula’s Choice for about 5 years and have been very happy with it. I’m 57 and am routinely taken for 10-15 years younger. My parents blessed me with good genes and I stay out of the sun these days, but good products help!

        1. Have you ever tried Rodan and Fields? I have used EVERYTHING including high end retail and even Obagi (rx from my dermatologist). After I tried Rodan and Fields I stopped looking, it is the most awesome skincare I’ve ever used. I loved it so much I signed up as a consultant to get a discount on the products. (I don’t even need laser treatments anymore, their Reverse regimen takes care of my sun damage😊)

  18. I will be 59 this year and you look fantastic. I am a grandmother of 2 granddaughters. I have a third grandchild on the way in July. We do not know yeti f boy or girl. I love receiving your email everyday. I look forward every day.

  19. ooohhh ,,,, I’m so glad you are covering this subject…. I am 51 and would love to get some great reviews of new skincare products…. I think I am stuck in a rut…. love my oils, too…If you have any great YL oil receipes for the face and body (home, too) we would love those as well…. thank you for all you do for us …. May HE make HIS face to shine upon us all <3

  20. Love the topic. I follow a blogger – Kris Karr – crazy sexy wellness. She has posts on products that are chemical free. Also the EWG rates the cosmetics based on safety and concerns with known chemicals.

I recently found Acure at Target and Sprouts. It’s organic and very reasonable!

Of course we all know what we put in our bodies (food) and hydration play a key role in having the best skin possible!

  21. I need to add on the Beauty Counter comment, these products are sold by independent consultants. Please let me know if you would like some samples to try. Also their website, beautycounter.com has lots of great information about the chemicals in all cosmetics and skin care. Thankful you are spreading the word about using safe products.

  22. I have been using Paulas’s Choice skincare products for several years and really like them. However, the price of their products has increased quite a bit in that time. I always wait for a sale and stock up. I may have to give your suggestions a try. I also turn 50 next month.

  23. Please try the Beauty Counter Products! This company is committed to providing skin care without all the chemicals. beautycounter.com
I turned 60 this year and love their anti- aging products.

    1. I agree! I’ve been using Beauty Counter for a couple of months and absolutely LOVE them! I get more compliments on my skin!!

  24. My dear, you look about 35 years old! I am excited about your posts on anti-aging and was pleased to read your comment on Timeless. At 70 years, I am certainly interested in theTimeless Matrixyl 3000 Serum. Definitely plan to try it. Thank you for the info and your lovely posts.

  25. Ugh, I was allergic to the very first anti-wrinkle cream I bought. I have no idea what the problem ingredient was and this stuff is too expensive to just experiment with.

My grocery store has a brand new kiosk with sample sizes to buy but it never seems to be working!

I’m just going to have to be wrinkled awhile longer, I think!

    1. Have you ever tried Rodan and Fields? I had skin issues before I tried R and F and I absolutely LOVE it!(these are the doctors who created ProActiv). I became a consultant to get a discount on my products. I’d be glad to give you info if you’re interested.

  26. Oh, Cyndi…I’ll be 50 this year as well. Where has the time gone??? I get told that I don’t look my age all the time (neither do you!). Know what my “secret” anti-aging cream is? Coconut oil with Frankincense, Lemon and Lavender essential oils added to it. It’s all I’ve been using for about a year now, and I LOVE it! However, if you find a miracle cream to slow down time even more I’d love to know about it! 😀

    1. Do you use the coconut oil as a cleanser or moisturizer? And do you add a drop of each YLEO? Perhaps you make up a batch and have a recipe? We use YL and would love more info. Thanks!

      1. I use it as a moisturizer. I saved an empty glass moisturizer container, washed it out and that’s what I use to keep my homemade moisturizer in. I use 1/2 C coconut oil, heated just enough to melt it, and add 7 drops each of frank, lemon and lavender. I shake it up and let it set til it hardens. I use it both morning and night. Smells great and feels wonderful. Just remember…a little goes a long way! 😀

        1. Thank you, Regi!! I can’t wait to try it. I purchased YL Sandlewood moisturizer and it too only takes a little to go a long way!

      2. I”ve been using coconut oil with frankincense, too! I really like it. I try to use it morning and night. I use a little tin container with a screw lid. I just add several drops of EO with the CO. Another oil this is good for skin is cucumber seed oil. It’s also good for hair growth. I used to put it in my shampoo but stopped because I could really tell my hair was growing faster!

  27. Rodan and Fields Redefine Regimen for wrinkles and aging skin. They were just featured on the Today Show. They have an Acute Care Line for people who don’t want botox or needles.. Love, love this skin care!

  28. Do you have any experience with Arbonne? I have been using it for several years but I am always looking for better. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

    1. I used to use Arbonne but tried Rodan and Fields and have seen much better results. I became a consultant for the discount and love sharing the products with my friends. I’m happy to give you more info if you’re interested! 😊

      1. I’ve been using Arbonne (RE9) for 5 years and very satisfied. I have a 26 year old son. Most folks can’t believe I have a kid this age. When I visit him at work ( he is a police officer) his co workers don’t believe I’m his mom. I like the skin care line however use philosophy Purity face wash and their eye cream.

          1. I have a 26 year old also (see well as a 24 yo, 19 yo, and 14 yo). I just turned 50 last month… it hit pretty hard, but it is definitely nice when people act surprised that you’re the mom😊! Good skincare is a must at our age, I’m glad you’ve found something that works for you! ❤️

  29. HI Cyndi!

I look forward to reading your Blog daily and look for it in my email! I am in my early sixties, (I can’t believe I’m actually admitting that!) and on a VERY TIGHT BUDGET. I would appreciate if you could find some anti aging skin products that are more affordable…..

Thanks for your time & keep Blogging!

    Fondly,
    Susan

    1. My dermatologist recommends CeraVe products which can be purchased at any drug store. I’m a product junkie and have tried multiple lines. This works well. Good luck,

      1. I use that but have found the Curel anti-itch to be even better and it’s cheap enough to use on your entire body. It has ceramides whose use actually has scientific backing. Walmart has the best deal with the biggest bottle. Also Dermarest is great to layer… it’s for skin problems, but the ingredients help build collagen an decrease imflammation. I use another similar, I’ll find the name later. The AlphaHydrox line often sold at TJMaxx cheaper is another must’have addition.

Be careful of the sun if using pure essential oils on your face. It makes it photo-sensitive and can lead to discolouration. Then you need to find something for spots. The most important thing is an spf 50 for use everyday.

  30. I’m excited to follow you on this! I do have some EOs, but I don’t always remember to use them (unless they’re already in something I have made up like body butter). I’ve read that frankincense is good for anti aging, but it’s such an expensive one, I don’t use it regularly. I’m curious if you use it for this and what you think. I’m also big on my vitamin c serum and use argan oil in place of moisturizer. I really like both!

  31. I’ve been using the Timeless vitamin C with Ferulic for about a year and the Matrixyl for 6 months. Seriously love them both. It took a while for me to notice results. I think like 4-5 months after I started using the Vitamin C, but I literally looked in the mirror and thought, “wow!”. My skin looked amazing! Then the compliments from strangers started. The girls at Sephora and Ulta, people that I would randomly meet were shocked when I told them that I am 42. My coworkers were asking me why I didn’t seem to be aging. I’m going down fighting especially when the steps to fighting are so easy. Bring on the anti-aging!

  32. Cyndi,
I sympathize with you, I’ll be fifty this year too!! Yikes don’t know how that happened😝. But I think the saying goes age is just a number not a definition of who we are .
Keep up the good work !
    Karen

  33. I Love Obagi … It makes your skin glow and helps with all those pesky dark age spots and discoloration areas. It removes all the dead old skin and they also have an amazing sun screen cream. A little pricey but oh so worth it… I am a fan…

    1. I used to use Obagi until I tried Rodan and Fields (from the doctors who created ProActiv) It’s milder on the skin but provides awesome results, and MUCH cheaper than Obagi!

  34. I have used the Timeless Vit. C for several years…I can’t tell you how many bottles I have used…I am oily even though I’m past 55 and it doesn’t make me break out. I recently started using the Hyaluronic acid Serum and the Hydrating Eye Creme….I can’t recommend these products enough…they are excellent without breaking the bank.

  35. Cyndi, Thank you so much for this post! I have been looking into the serums, and these are good and affordable! Can’t wait to try them. 🙂

  36. Hi Cyndi! I wondered if you’ve tried any of the IT Cosmetics. I recently started trying the Hello Lashes! mascara that I purchased after falling in love with the sample in my Ipsy bag. They sent me a few samples with my order and I am now loving the Your Skin But Better CC Cream.
    Thanks,
    Mary

    1. Mary, I’ve been using It CC Cream for 2 years now. It’s the best I’ve found! I also use their eyeliner-it stays put! Great brand and products!

      1. I love IT cosmetics! The cc cream is light but evens my skin tone. And it has a beautiful soft citrus sent. Love IT!!
