3 Beauty Products For Women Over 40

3 beauty products for women over 40I love trying new beauty products! I recently had a complete makeover at Sephora and found some new products that I love. Here are 3 Beauty Products for Women Over 40.

The reason I tried these products is because of what they don’t have. They’re free of Parabens, Sulfates, and Phthalates. It’s supposed to be a healthier line of beauty products.

With that being said, the foundation doesn’t score good because it has sunscreen in it. The sunscreen in this product is Octinoxate. Sunscreen is good for sun protection but some studies link sunscreen to cancer. 🙁

This foundation is great for women over 40 because it helps to plump skin with clinical levels of hyaluronic filling spheres that expand to fill in fine lines and wrinkles. It also supports the tightening of skin.

3 Beauty Products For Women Over 40Even in the winter, I like to add some bronzer to my face. This Hourglass Ambient bronzer gives me a sun-kissed glow without being too heavy or dark.

3 Beauty Products For Women Over 40Lastly, we have talked about eyebrows quite a bit around here. Our eyebrows thin as we get older so we want to fill them in but we want them to look natural. We don’t want to draw a line!

I have used dark brown eye shadow for a long time but I tried the Hourglass Arch Brow Sculpting Pencil and I really like it!

This brow pencil combines the benefits and technique of a powder, pencil, and wax on one end and it has a brow brush on the other end. Perfect! It glides on easy and looks natural.

Beauty For the Heart~~I am not a huge fan of winter. Cold, dreary days get old quick. But this quote from Richard Foster reminds me that winter can be a season of growing.

“Winter preserves and strengthens a tree. Rather than expending its strength on the exterior surface, its sap is forced deeper and deeper into its interior depth. In winter, a tougher, more resilient life is firmly established. Winter is necessary for the tree to survive and flourish.”

Although I don’t love winter, I think I need winter. It’s a great time for me to dig deep into scripture and let my faith grow.

Colossians 2:7 says, Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.

Winter prepares me for the year ahead!

Have a blessed day!

  1. Hey Cyndi girl, I’m glad that you took the opportunity to warn readers about the dangers of suncreen. We all need to protect ourselves against the damage does to our skin, primarily premature aging and skin cancer. My dermatologist talked to me about the dangers of sunscreen as it pertains to cancer when I saw her last year. It seems every sunscreen I’ve tried causes me to break out in red itchy rashes, particularly on my face. My daughter recommended a baby sunblock that her pediatrician recommended to her for use on her children. The only downside is, I have to apply it more often and more liberally, so I spend quite a bit on sunblock. Money well spent. Be blessed!

  2. Hi Cyndi!

I will have to try your suggestions for Hourglass. I have used the Ambient Lighting Palette, which I do love. Always looking for good products for older skin issues!!!

    1. I forgot to mention, with foundation… I have found the greatest help is using a foundation brush! I bought one at Ulta on the advice of another blogger, and it is wonderful!! So helpful for getting and even light coverage!!!!

  3. You need to get the new book by Paula Begoun, “The best skin of Your Life Starts Here, busting beauty myths so you know what to use and why”. You will never look at, or buy beauty products the same way ever again, and you won’t waste your money on expensive junk. I check her website, Beautypedia.com, before I buy anything.

  4. Hi Cyndi,
I’ve used the veil primer and really like it. I’m so happy you posted about foundation because I’ve been looking for something new – targeting a filler for the fine lines. What shade are you wearing? I don’t mind spending a little more for good products plus we only get one skin. 🙂
    Take Care,
    Sandi

  5. Hi Cyndi.

I am glad you touched on the subject of brows. I follow several blogs of women in their 30’s and early 40’s , and I’ve noticed that the “made up” look seems to be back in a strong way. I am seeing a lot of bloggers and models on blogs that are heavily made up, or at least look like it. Flawless, dewy complexions, widely drawn brows, and heavy lipstick. I even noticed it on some of the Glamour Farms ladies, especially the brows. Is it popular now to draw brows, with a heavy/wide line? It looks beautiful, but not natural. I have actually always liked the “made up” look on others, and it seems to be quite popular again, but what about our age group? Thanks so much for helping us all. 🙂

  6. I really enjoy your comments about a spiritual life. Fashion & makeup are fun but can’t compare to inner beauty. Nothing compares to the peace that surpasses all understanding through Our Lord Jesus. Thank you for your beautiful and thoughtful Christian comments.

  7. I really love your verse for today. Colossians 2:6-7 NVTare my verses for 2016. Its my desire to live into these verses and live them out this year. Thanks for sharing.

  8. I also use the Hourglass Veil, which is their mineral primer……feels wonderful on my face, really does the job giving my makeup staying power for the whole day!

  9. Cyndi:
I’ve been considering a makeover at Sephora myself! Actually, my 25 year old daughter has been pushing for it 😉 I’m going to try out this foundation, in windy Wyoming our skin needs all the help we can get! I appreciate all your tips, pics, fashion sense, and especially Beauty for the Heart.

I’d love to see an ‘after’ pic from your Sephora make-over.

    Enjoy a blessed day!
