Shine His Light-Beauty For the Heart

Shine-His-Light-Beauty-For-the-HeartThis week I have been thinking a lot about light and darkness. I think it’s because I wake up before the sun comes up. I anxiously wait for that first glimpse of light to start peeking through my windows.

There’s something about seeing the sun that makes me feel that all is right in the world. Scripture has a lot to say about light. If we are followers of Christ, we are to shine His light.

As people filled with light, our actions should reflect our faith!

Shine-His-Light-Beauty-For-the-HeartIf we live for Christ, we will glow like lights, showing others what Christ is like. We are His hands and feet here on earth.

Shine-His-Light-Beauty-For-the-HeartThe darkness of evil never has and never will overcome God’s light!

Shine-His-Light-Beauty-For-the-HeartChrist wants us to shine His light in the world! Let’s shine His light today!

I have played this song before but it’s my favorite one about light.

  1. Thank-you, Cyndi. We discussed “letting your light shine for God” with my children’s Sunday School class yesterday. 🙂

    Have a blessed week.

  2. I read your post as my cell service went in and out. We sat in darkness with zero power and temperatures below 14. The full moon shines brightly letting us know that we are not alone. The 19 inches of white snow with the moon shinning on it becomes light as day. What a Great God we serve! Amen! Love your post

  3. I love that in the same way you have used your passion for fashion to inspire others, you can also inspire with your passion for God. I used to think that I had to be in “ministry” to share but I’m learning my platform is the every day people I come across. You do this so beautifully without being pushy. It’s so refreshing. Keep being real. I love everything about your blog.

  4. This is such an important thought for all Christians – thank you for illustrating it so beautifully! When a close friend’s mother was diagnosed with a brain tumor this fall, I realized on the first day at the hospital that I was the only believer in their family or entire circle of friends. I felt overwhelmed at first, but I prayed right there in the hospital “Lord, let me bring Your light to this situation.” Every single day before I went to help out, I prayed that I could be the Light to this family and their friends. It was a tough two months til we lost her, but I know that God worked through me every day, and it was an honor and a privilege to be the person they introduced to the hospice staff as “their family chaplain.” I didn’t really want to attend the very secular “memorial service”, which was nothing but a cocktail party held in a restaurant, but went out of respect. Another guest’s wife was there whom I had not previously met; as it turned out, she was a steadfast believer and we had a conversation that completely changed something important about my life. While the rest of the room shouted, laughed and got drunk, I got to meet someone who I hope will continue to be a friend in Christ; at any rate, she had some inspiration I really needed to get past a point where I had been stuck in a personal relationship. God uses so many different circumstances for His good!

  5. What positive way to end our Sunday and begin the week! Love it
Thank you Lord for mercy and light of your word!

  6. Cyndi, my Bible Study group of 12 just did Beth Moore’s study “Children of Light”! It is
awesome! Thanks for sharing all the verses. The moon is full and reflecting off the ocean as I type this and watch the Carolina Panthers football game!

  7. Thank you Cyndi for your post on Light. I am drawn to the light of God as so man women are. Thank you for your blog and helping all the women be comforted and uplifted by your encouraging words. God Bless you and yours ^^^0^^^

  8. Thank you Cyndi for your words of encouragement…sitting with my 86 year old Mama at the hospital…she has broken her arm in 2 places and is now coming off of 4 days of morphine. Your words from the Lord always give me comfort!

  9. I love fashion and beauty and shopping, etc…. But at the end of the day all that matters is Jesus and He is the Light! Thank you for the reminder, I leave for work early during the week and when it starts getting light on my drive in I will remember this and appreciate the light even more! Have a blessed Sunday!
