Almost every week I get emails from women who are struggling. The struggles are all different. Some are hurt over a relationship, some are hurting over their children, and some are with life in general.
None of us are immune to pain and suffering in this life. I have certainly felt the pain of loss and hurt in my own life.
It’s hard to see past the suffering when you are right in the middle of it. It’s also hard to know what to say to someone who is hurting.
One of my favorite verses that talks about suffering is 2 Corinthians 4:17-18 (MSG), So we are not giving up. How could we! Even though on the outside it often looks like things are falling apart on us, on the inside, where God is making new life, not a day goes by without his unfolding grace. These hard times are small potatoes compared to the coming good times, the lavish celebration prepared for us. There’s far more here than meets the eye. The things we see now are here today, gone tomorrow. But the things we can’t see now will last forever.
I’m so thankful the troubles we go through in this life are temporary. The pain and hurt will lessen over time and this too shall pass….
The most important thing to remember is YOU ARE LOVED!
Have a blessed Sunday!

I follow your blog – but was on vacation and missed this one til now – it is perfect and the best thing is that the lead singer of the band Stars Go Dim is the worship leader at my church. Thanks for highlighting this amazing song!!!
I was going about my business on an ordinary day when a thought popped into my head. The thought was, “Sometimes God has to use extreme measures to save one soul”. For me the extreme measure is breast cancer. When I think of myself and the very first cancer experiences I picture myself with my back to God, poised at a dead run away from His love, with both of His hands gripping the back of my shirt. In my mind it is as if God was saying, “Oh no you don’t, I am not letting you get away from Me!”. He gave me a big dose of suffering to turn me back around, running to save my life towards Him and His love. He used cancer to open my heart, my body, and my mind to receive His love again. Towards the end of the chemotherapy treatments when the side effects were at the most extreme my comfort came from Jesus. I spent so much time bedridden, away from my family and friends for fear of infection. At those darkest times I pictured myself wrapped in the arms of Jesus. Many times I was sobbing, but sometimes I was laughing, and always I was gripping his gown tight with both of my hands.
I pray you are having good days and feeling His presence every day!
Praying for you!
We all experience pain and hurt. It’s when we need God the most, but often when we seek him the least. I’ve had many seasons of hurt and times I found myself even angry that God would allow things to happen in my life. But whenever I’ve laid the hurt and hopelessness at his feet I’ve always felt his love even more.
Sometimes realizing others have hurts make our own not seem as overwhelming.
Thank you for being a strong Christian woman!
Beautifully said and perfect timing. Thank you, your blog is a bright light in my day to day. 🙂
Thank you for the post. Her inspirational and needed. Blessing to know we are not alone. Enjoy your messages.
Cyndi, thank you for your post today. I haven’t commented in a while but I have been a faithful reader. I am going through some of my own struggles now and it feels never-ending. Your post today reminded me that – yes – “This, too, shall pass.” I am trying to take things day by day but it sure is hard. Sometimes it’s nice to know we are not alone, though. Thank you.
Praying things get better soon!
Cyndi
Timely thought for me today. I’m 8 months into treatment for breast cancer & weary of the pain. I love this scripture. It’s hard to view things with the perspective of eternity when pain seems unending. Thanks for the reminder.
Gwen I am so sorry for your pain. Praying for your strength and that you will feel His comfort.
Cyndi
Gwen, im praying for you. Dee
Thank you so much for this today. I really needed to read something like this. I feel like my husband and my faith our being tested like never before. He is undergoing testing for cancer and we just had to place our son in a rehab for drug use. We believe God has his plan and we have to except what is given to us. But our Faith will keep us strong and united. God bless you!
Hi Kimberly, I’m praying for you. I can’t imagine what you’re going through but this I know that God is with you and will comfort your heart.
Thank you Elizabeth ♥️
Kimberly, Know that there are folks out there praying for you and your family. We may be strangers, but in God and our Faith, we are like sisters. I will keep you in my thoughts this week and I will send you any extra strength I have. You are never truly alone.
Thank you so much for your kind words. God bless you♥️Carol.
Kimberly praying you will feel comfort and peace this week.
Cyndi
Thank you Cyndi. God bless❤️
Kimberly, you and your family are being prayed for.
I REALLY needed to hear this today! Thank you for sharing! Pray for those in lonely marriages. I will be playing this over and over! I can’t tell who sings this.
I really needed this today, Cindy. Thank you for this message. I know the Lord will use these struggles I have right now for His plan later. God is God!
Beautiful and needed message today. Thank you. Just curious, why don;t you use the King James version of the bible?
Hey Teri, I love to read from lots of different translations. I memorized a lot of verses growing up in the KJV and still use it too. For the most literal translation, I like the ESV.
Cyndi
Thank you for encouraging all of us to never give up. I always look forward to reading your post. You are an inspiration thank you!!!

Wonderful message! We all need a reminder like this once in awhile. Happy Sunday!
I needed this today, Cyndi. I know right now so many people are going through struggles worse than mine right now but just like you wrote, when you are in the middle of the struggles it is so hard! Next week we travel to Mayo Clinic in Minnesota to see if there is anything more we can do for my husbands cancer. We aren’t giving up!! God is good and I know He is traveling with us through this journey.
Gail praying you all can get help at the Mayo Clinic. For some reason, I thought your husband was doing better.
Prayers for healing,
Cyndi
Thank you Cyndi for this very true message! We have a dear friend that began chemo and radiation last week for rectal cancer. Even as friends it’s hard to understand why she is having to go through this, so we just keep praying and asking God to help she and her husband get through this very difficult journey. And we are there supporting them in any way we can. We have told Rainy that we will not go to the flume in May, to collect gems, without her, and we mean it. That is an annual trip for the four of us!
Have a blessed day!
