27 Days of Spring Fashion: Target Shift Dress

It’s Day 25 of my 27 days of Spring Fashion! You might remember in February I shared a sweater from Target from their Who What Wear line.

Today I’m styling a shift dress from that same brand at Target. This dress does not come in plus size but they do have some cute plus size clothes in this line.

27 Days of Spring Fashion: Target Shift DressI’m wearing my Target wedges again. I have a feeling I’ll be wearing these a lot!

I added some silver jewelry and a leopard clutch.

27 Days of Spring Fashion: Target Shift DressThis dress is only $35 but it feels like a more expensive dress. It has a built in slip so you can’t see through it. The top mesh part you can see through so I added a nude tank.

  1. I had to come back to this post and let you know that I ordered this dress because it looked so cute on you. I absolutely love it!!! I’m not a big dress wearer but I’ve recently started dating again and feel myself being drawn to more feminine looks. My boyfriend will love this dress on me. Thanks for sharing your styles and your heart!

  2. Can you post who the dress is made by? It is no longer available on the website, and I would like to try to track it down at a local store. Thanks so much! D

  3. You look beautiful as always! Thanks for showing a dress with sleeves. I’m ready for a Target run now. (I also love to find a dress with pockets.)

  4. I love this dress. This is so funny because I was at Target last night and walked around with this dress for quite a while. They only had a small and I wanted to try on both the med and sm. I ended up talking myself out of purchasing all the while wondering what it would look like on Cyndi! Lo and behold I open my email today and there it is! Needless to say after a trip back to Target tonight it is hanging happily in my closet. Can’t wait to wear it to my nephews wedding.

  5. Love this dress – already ordered it!!! I am going to have to stop following you because I find my self daily ordering at least one of the pieces you wear! Thank you for sharing your beauty – inside and out!

  6. Hi Cyndi,

It looks like these wedges come in whole sizes. I’m not sure what size you wear but wondering if you sized up or down. I am always a 9.5 so not sure if to go up or down.

    Thank you!

  7. I too am tall and appreciate the tall suggestions. I love my Old Navy and Loft pants! Concerning mesh areas at the shoulders, do you find the straps of the ahhmazing tank are less noticeable than the ahhmazing cami? The latte color looks as if it would blend in. I’m trying to get ready for my son’s wedding where I’ll be wearing a cobalt blue long dress with lace insets at the front and back of one shoulder. Thanks!

  8. I was at Target yesterday and thought I recognized those wedges… If they’re as comfy as they are pretty AND versatile, “wrap ’em up!”

  9. This is another great look that I could easily pull off for the office. Can you tell us how you styled your hair? I’m loving the look and thinking of getting a cut similar to your’s since it appears to be easy to manage and style. Thanks again for bringing us great looks at affordable prices.

  10. The scripture today is great! I chose Faith!

I really like the dress! The whole outfit is so pretty. Target is a great place to shop for so many things. Have a blessed day!

  11. Cyndi, I love this white dress-and how you put this whole outfit together. I was thrilled when I first saw Who What Wear started a clothing line. Target is a great place to shop for on trend items these days.

  12. Love this dress girl! I have the black on hold at my Target! 😊 I hope it works on me. You look beautiful!

  13. I tried the black one on yesterday and loved it but thought I’d wear it over my skinny jeans because I think I’m too tall to wear it by itself (5’7″). I’ll admit I tried it on over jeans and didn’t try it without! It’s super cute on you! They are like delicate Ruffles. I did wonder if it made me look too thick though 😏

    1. Ok went back to Target and bought the black one this afternoon…I was out of the dressing room looking in a mirror with it on and a random lady walked by and said what a cute dress … Well that’s all I needed to hear to head to the check out!!😂

  14. Gorgeous outfit today, head to toe! Wouldn’t it be funny to run into several women at church this weekend, all dressed like you? We could sit together and form our own little Spivey women’s club! And, by the way, which sunless tanner are you currently using? The color is beautiful.

    Have a blessed day!
    Allison

    1. That is so funny, I am a school nurse and we have actually done that dressed alike it’s funny for th students to see.

  15. Thank you for this beautiful combo. I would of never thought of putting things together like you show us. You give us the ability to dress fashionable. Thanks again. Love the look on you.

  16. I love your blog… I went to Target last night and ended up buying five pairs of shoes. They were the shoes you recommended … I Love them all!!
Love your Scriptures as well.. Very helpful

  17. Beautiful look! The white and tan combination is great for summer! Even as a tunic, that would look great with printed leggings of some sort! Thanks for the inspiration! Have a wonderful day. – Amy –

  18. Hi,
    This outfit is absolutely gorgeous!!!!!
After dentist appointment going to Target to get the white one.
I’m on spring break this week. Loving it.
    Have a wonderful day.

  19. So…I just order this dress in white and black, and I ordered the shoes – they don’t carry any of these at any of the Targest near me :(. Anyway, I’m always hesitant to order online but I figure it they don’t work I can return to my local store – which I love having the option to do that – for me it’s such a hassle to box up and return thing thru the mail. Obviously love this look and I”m so excited to receive them – fingers crossed they fit and look good! Two dresses and a pair of shoes under $100 – YES!

  20. Cyndi, how does the sizing in this dress run? What size are you wearing? I love the dress and I might want to get it in black and white.
    Thanks!

  21. Hi Cyndi! What a cute outfit, you always look great!
Unfortunately, being too tall, I cannot wear any of this. I do not wear heels that make me even taller (which is sad cause I love cute shoes) and I think this dress would be way too short on me. I love the tunic idea, though.
I think it’s great that designers make clothes for women of all sizes weight wise, but I long for the day when tall girls can wear cute things, too! It’s hard being tall since many people see it as very un-feminine. Not being able to wear cute fashions without looking like I just had a growth spurt is do frustrating!
I’m trying to learn to embrace that this is who I am, and it’s okay. Everyone has something to deal with, and I guess being too tall really isn’t too, too bad if you put it into perspective.
But again, thanks for the tunic idea. It’s one way to enjoy such a cute top. But alas! I’ll be wearing it with flats. 😄

    1. I know we all have things we don’t like about ourselves but don’t get discouraged. You are uniquely YOU!! If I were taller, I would wear this as a tunic with pants and a cute pair of leopard flats.
      Hope that helps!!
      Cyndi

    2. You aren’t “too” tall—you are the exact height God wanted you to be! It’s easy to be hard on ourselves when we don’t like something we see in the mirror but I’m learning that when I have these thoughts I’m offending God and His creation. I would encourage you to embrace (I know it’s hard) the way you are. We all have things we would choose to change but remember, we are God’s creation–not our creation! 🙂

      1. Thanks Cyndi and Jennifer! I know you’re right, and yep, it’s hard! I’d much rather be a cute and feminine 5’4″ than the “jolly green giant” as my sisters like to refer to me. And while I may never understand why, God did make me tall on purpose, you’re right. My husband doesn’t seem to mind. 😄
        Thanks for the encouragement!

    3. I’m 63 and 5’10” at my last measure. I think I’ve shrunk an inch over the years! I understand your delimma! I will say that there certainly are more tall options than there were when I was young. Have you tried Old Navy online? They offer many styles of pants as well as tops and dresses in talls. You can see them in the store and then order online if you like them. For years, tall dresses were very hard to find. I’m enjoying more options now. Hope this helps you!

      1. Thanks Suzanne! I’m 5’9″, and yet people constantly feel the need to inform me “goodness! You are so tall!” Oh my!
I am happy to see some retailers make clothes for taller women, although recently at the GAP the salesperson told me, “sorry, we don’t carry clothes for tall people in the store. YOU have to shop online.” He made me feel like a weirdo for even asking.
The world definitely revolves around shorter folks, and that’s okay. I just need to focus on accepting my height as part of who I am. I can’t change it! But if I’m being honest, I sure do get envious of the normal size women who can pull off adorable dresses and cute heels and look amazing.

        1. I DO understand! If I had a dollar for every comment like that said to me, I’d be rich! :-). I have two daughters – one tall and one short. I tried very hard as they were growing up to make them both feel

good about themselves and to help them find appropriate and attractive clothes. I’m prejudiced, but I think they’re both beautiful although they look their best in different styles of clothes.

          1. Suzanne, that’s awesome that you took care to help both daughters feel good about themselves. Sadly, I was constantly teased and belittled for my height, especially by the women in my family and in my husband’s family. I have sons, so they see their height as a blessing (and while it shouldn’t matter, I LOVE being shorter than them!) I finally feel feminine when I stand near the men in my family. 😄

        2. B, gosh 5’9 is a normal height to my family, I have a gorgeous 17 year old daughter who is 5’10” and embraces her height, she also wears heels. I have two nieces in their early 20s who are both nearly 6′ and have never had a problem looking and wearing fashionable clothes, these days their are more choices available and don’t mention big feet!! Enjoy playing around with your fashion I’m sure you already look fab, Cyndi gives us all such wonderful ideas and we can recreate or adapt to suit ourselves.
Don’t get down enjoy and be happy.
Hope this helps and remember your family love you as you are.
          Best wishes Nicky x

    4. I’m 51 and have been 6’1″ since I was 15 ha! I feel your pain about fashion choices:). NY&Co carries dress pants as well as denim in tall sizes. You might check there. Embrace your uniqueness! God made each of us precisely as He intended.

  22. Absolutely stunning Cyndi, I adore this dress and the wedges look perfect and that hint of leopard make it quite striking.
Just waiting for the warmer weather, got soaked 🌧walking the dog this morning, oh the joys!!
    Have a happy Tuesday.
    Blessings Nicky

  23. Ok love this!! I’m gonna go broke following u lol! I love all the outfits I’m ordering this today to wear for Motgers day!!! 🌷

  24. So cute from head to toe. Love beauty for the heart. You’ll have to style some outfits to pack in in April. 🙂

  25. Hi Cynde,
I know you have mentioned you use sunless tanners. I have tanned for years and know I need to stop but I haven’t ever found a sunless product that I like that doesn’t smell horrible and look orange. Your tan is beautiful and you always glow!! Can you recommend the best product and share what you use?

    Thanks!!

  26. Cyndi, this look is so cool and breezy…I love it! The nude color wedges work so well to extend the length of the leg. I also like how the dress is loose and casual while still giving great structure at the neckline.

I can totally relate to your moving woes. I am also in the middle of a major move and trying to keep all the other plates spinning at the same time…needing God’s grace for sure!

    Blessings,
    Shellie
