Fashion Friday-The Carnegie Dress

Happy Friday! Today I’m sharing the Carnegie dress from Glamour Farms. This is a Glamour Farms exclusive, the Adele Rochelle line.

I love this dress, it doesn’t wrinkle and it’s comfortable enough to wear all day plus it’s fully lined! I wore it to church on Sunday and even took a nap in it and then took these pictures. #truth

Fashion Friday-The Carnegie Dress I added my Michael Kors handbag and the Ursa Platform Sandal. I love the color of this heel because it blends in with my legs which is supposed to help your legs appear longer.

I’m so honored that you have taken time out of your day to stop by my blog. If you don’t want to miss a post, you can sign up to receive my daily emails and you’ll never miss a thing. I’m also on FacebookPinterest and my favorite one, Instagram.

Beauty For the Heart~~I often get emails from women who are struggling. Sometimes from a difficult marriage, or children who’ve made bad decisions. Sometimes watching the news and all the craziness in this world can get you down.

Many find it hard to see anything positive in life. If you are seeing the glass half empty instead of half full (and most of us do at some time) then these tips might help change your perspective.

  • Rejoice and be glad.
  • Focus on the positive and count your blessings.
  • Get proper rest.
  • Do something for someone else.
  • Listen to upbeat, happy music.
  • Exercise.
  • Take a little break and do something for yourself.
  • Claim the promises of God.
  • Immerse yourself in the word of God

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13

Have a blessed day!

  1. I love the dresS!! Could you also show some dresses that are just below the knee as I don’t like mine:). Bless you!

  2. Cyndi,I love your style in clothes and have purchased several pieces myself. I read your blog daily and look forward to see your new outfits. I have the same likes in clothing and stores as you. All the clothes you wear look better on you than on the store’s website. Also, I like that you put the size that you wear because it helps me decide what size I need to order. I also, would like to see more of your house decorating ideas. Thanks for sharing!

  3. Cyndi, as an Interior Designer, your home surroundings are as much an expression of your style as your wardrobe is! I, for one, love hearing about your interior style, as that says much about you. Good luck, have fun and trust your instincts! It will be beautiful!

  4. Very cute dress; my size was gone; the staircase would look fantastic and I’m a country French kind of girl not farmhouse either!!! Romans 15:13 is one of my favorite verses and uplifts me any time I read it. Thanks for sharing!!!

  5. Loved the dress but Very disappointed that by the time I got home from work to order It was sold out 🙁

  6. I’m so glad you showed the picture of your staircase idea! I am so tired of my oak and, after 30 years, the railing is well “loved” and battered. I never thought of having it painted!! Brilliant!!

      1. Hey Cindy, I send out an email everyday that i post. Many times I share things in my email that I don’t share on my blog. If you want me to add you to my email list, I can do that, just let me know!
        Blessings,
        cyndi

    1. Me too..My husband walked in the door to me standing at our oak staircase with pictures and a list of reasons why should paint it !

  7. Love the dress! Please do share more about your move. Just moved myself in the last 6 weeks after 21 years in the other place.

  8. Gorgeous simple dress, looks fab on you. Love the staircase, please do some interiors when you move. I will be glad when my new farmhouse style house is built. Can’t wait but will be a long time yet!! Hey ho.
    Happy weekend.
    Nicky xx

  9. So sad. This cute dress and the other patterns are pretty much sold out. Praying they’ll restock.

  10. Cyndi – Love your blog & look forward to it each day. Today’s devotional was spot on, as it’s been a long week. Am going to check out the dress. It’s adorable, though I may have to wear it as a tunic, since I’m 5’10. I would to see a post on your jewelry. I love how you mix and stack your bracelets!

  11. Love your devotion today. Thank you for your sweet spirit and always planing the seed for Christ. I love everything you style. You are Special. A gift from God.

  12. Your Beauty for the Heart is spot on today. It’s what we know but still need a reminder sometimes. Yours is one of my favorite emails every morning.

Dress is adorable. Great look for the stairs. We did ours like that a few years ago. Now I want to have the spindles removed and put in slats like in your photo. I don’t think the spindles even go with the bones of my house (built in 1981 – contemporary).

  13. Love the dress, and purchasing it today!!! Thanks for sharing the size!! I’m assuming it runs a bit small!! Love the house pictures you posted, and hope you will post more as you progress!!! Thank you for the scriptures every day!!! I look so forward to them!!! Blessings!!!

  14. Cute dress !

Love the dark and white bannister. I hope you will share pics when you move into your new place.
    Have a great weekend

  15. Love the dress!
I really like the look of a dark railing and white spindles. The contrast is striking! And, you can’t go wrong with white walls.

  16. Great Beauty For the Heart! I wish I needed another dress! That dress is very pretty and has so many positive aspects. Like you, I prefer the walls in my home to be light so I can add color with accessories, and change it up with more ease when I feel the need.

    Have a blessed day!

  17. This maybe a strange question…what kind of undergarments do you wear with this kind of dress or any summer dress? Spans? Panties? Both?

    1. Donna this dress is lined and not fitted so I didn’t wear spanx just my panties and bra. (I hope no men are reading this. Eek!)
      Cyndi

  18. Very cute dress, looks so comfortable! I love your idea for your rails, and would love to see more pics when you get moved! I Love to decorate! Have a great day! 😊

  19. The nice thing about this dress is that it’s mixing it’s prints and yet you didn’t have to worry that they “went together”!! And then the fact it doesn’t wrinkle….who could ask for more than that?
As for your staircase—I did the same thing in our new place—-painted the small rails white and the banisters dark (I actually stained them ebony)! I think it’s a great look—very modern (and I also painted the door to the garage a dark brown—saw it on pinterest!!)

  20. Cyndi, I ordered this without thinking twice about it! So cute, great for summer ac and wrinkle free-win win in my book! Thanks!!!

  21. I agree with Stephanie on paint color. The house I bought has white trim and coconut (slightly off-white) walls. It looked a little blah at first, but now I see the brightness, but with a bit of contrast.

  22. You look wonderful in the dress. I look forward every morning to your emails. Thank you for being an inspiration.

  23. The dress is really cute. On a side note, notice the paint color of the wall in the photo you posted of the stair railing. White can be a very stark, sterile color when used in large doses in a home. Even a cream or light beige color can make a huge difference and make the white accents on railing and trim pop. If you are worried about how it will look, ask the painters to paint a small area and let you decide.

  24. Love this scripture. I have sent it twice in the last week to friends/family who needed to be encouraged. Have a wonderful day.

  25. I’m sure you have answered this many times, but, how tall are you? I’m 5’9″ & want to make sure this dress wouldn’t be too short on me before ordering. I love reading your posts & seeing what you are styling! I have decided that we have the same tastes in clothing!

      1. Yes, that helps a lot! I have problems with most of these cute dresses being too short! Have a great weekend!

  26. if you decide to venture from the “white” or “cream” avenue….check out Paverstone from Sherwin Williams. Great neutral and it goes great with terra cotta too (for warm color). This color is best when blending cools with warms. Most of our house is a neutral in the tan sense but we did out kitchen in paverstone and it ties it in just nicely and we have terra cotta tiles and that was when we knew it was meant to be as terra cotta is on the swatch too

  27. Beautiful dress and words. You are so pretty. Thank you for the reminders in life. Bless you. Nice stair case I would try a basic color.Like a brown or white. Bless you.

  28. Love the colors of the dress and glamour farms. In your house. I’ve been lightening up with a color I found on a blog, can’t remember which one, Benjamin Moore white sand. It seems to,go with everthing without being real white.

    1. I used white sand from bm and love it. I used it in my kitchen and family room which are attached. It light colour goes well with my wood wainscotting. Been tempted to paint the wood but not brave enough.

  29. I wanted to share this scripture that I’ve been meditating on a lot lately as a follow-up to your beauty from the heart encouragement…which btw is very good. Thank you!

I usually read the NASB, but recently I’ve been drawn to read what the MSG translation says as well and I found this verse that I think interprets Matt. 11:28-30 so beautifully.

“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me-watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”

    Blessings Cyndi and friends!

    1. Karen I love that verse in the Message and I have shared it on here before. The key is spending time with Jesus.
      Blessings,
      Cyndi

  30. Along with seeing the glass half full, I tell myself daily to “look up, not down”. You continue to inspire me with your words of faith, and encouragement.

    Have a blessed day 🙂

  31. You are simply adorable! I appreciate you mentioning that the dress size you’re wearing is a medium, because that tells me I would need a large 😊 My sunroom is painted with the paint color “Purity” by Pittsburg Paints–I never get tired of it & I love the name ❤️.

  32. Love the dress, the colour and the pattern.
I have some tried and true colours suggestions for you. I have used: revere pewter HC172, edge comb gray HC173 and winds breath OC24. All from Benjamin Moore. All look great with black accents and white trim. Good luck and shave fun.

  33. Any dress you can nap in and then take pictures is a keeper! I love the inspiration picture for your steps! I’m sure your home will be beautiful when you finish 🙂

  34. This is such a pretty dress! It looks so nice on you! Love the staircase painted with black and white also!

  35. This is a keeper! Nothing better than finding an easy-care dress that you look great in!
    Thanks for sharing! Happy Friday!!!
