Spring Dresses from Nordstrom

It’s time for weddings and graduations and that means we need some pretty spring dresses. Nordstrom has you covered when it comes to dresses.

I am in love with this Eliza J floral dress from Nordstrom. It’s feminine and perfect for a spring wedding.

Spring Dresses from NordstromThere are many brands of dresses at Nordstrom but I really like the Eliza J brand. Their dresses are a good fit for women over 40.

Spring Dresses from NordstromThe back of the dress has a gold zipper detail.

Spring Dresses from NordstromThis is a figure-flattering dress tailored from sleek scuba fabric. The fabric feels wonderful!

Spring Dresses from NordstromThis dress is great for a wedding or a graduation but since I’m from Kentucky, I had to add a hat for the upcoming Kentucky Derby.

Spring Dresses from NordstromIf you’re heading to the Kentucky Derby, Nordstrom has some beautiful hats!!

Beauty For the Heart~~“God rewards those who seek Him. Not those who seek doctrine of religion or systems or creeds. Many settle for these lesser passions, but the reward goes to those who settle for nothing less than Jesus himself. And what is the reward? What awaits those who seek Jesus? Nothing short of the heart of Jesus.” -Max Lucado

  1. Beautiful dress! The colors are gorgeous and it can be used for several spring and summer occasions. The hat is spot on! So pretty!

  2. Hi Cyndi,
I LOVE that dress and you are absolutely gorgeous in it!! I love every pic of it and the hat and the shoes… You have that eye for detail and color coordination!! You have true beauty of the heart!! I’ve never gone to the Derby, but my father in law and sister in law has and they love it. One day I will go, and wear a beautiful dress like this one!!!! 🙂

  3. Love the dress! I just had breast reduction surgery, I’m having so much fun shopping. By the way, I didn’t get your email again, and yes, I checked my junk. I always feel cheated when I don’t get the email 🙁

    1. I AM attending The Kentucky Derby this year and live in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. I have purchased a big hat, floral sundress, pearls and comfortable shoes for the day. Anything else I need to have?
I look forward to my first visit to Kentucky!

      1. Kentucky is beautiful this time of year, Kathleen!!! I hope you enjoy your trip!!!! There is one thing about our beautiful state…….the weather for detby can be from one extreme to the other so I would suggest you at least pack a jacket or light sweater……you may not need it but you never know!!!!! I hope you are staying long enough to do some sight seeing!!!!!

  4. What a perfect spring dress! You look great in it, Cyndi! I recently bought an Eliza J dress and it is divine! Great look for a wedding or the Derby!!

  5. I’ve never had any reason to purchase a hat but I have to say this one is beautiful and I would have bought it too!

  6. I just love this dress. Your outfits are such a great inspiration to me. Thank you for all your hard work on this blog.

    1. I have been reading your posts for a month. You are a true inspiration in class and beauty but most of all, your love for the Lord shines through.
      Thank you.
      Lynda

  7. I love this vibrant floral dress Cyndi and you look so beautiful. I am definitely a hat person, so your hat definitely caught my attention . Great look for a day at the races. I have always wanted to attend the Kentucky Derby. We have something similar in California, but it is definitely not on the same scale as the Kentucky Derby.

  8. Love it! So ladylike! You are gorgeous Cyndi. Your makeup is spot on too. What color/brand lipstick are you wearing?

  9. Gorgeous dress Cyndi and you look beautiful in it. It is worth the price because it’s a classic style. On an unrelated question…Have you ever shared how you keep your arms so fit? That’s a hard area for women as we age. Thanks, Patty

  10. What a beautiful dress! Reality check…I’ve been to 6 Spring races at Keenland…as fancy and elegant as the Derby in Louisville but just not as famous. Unless you are very lucky to sit up in the grand stands, wear flats or low heeled sandals! I was lucky enough to sit in the grand stands 3 times and once other time, we ate in the Lexington Room which gave us a spectacular view and it was indoors. However, the last 2 times I went, we were down in the general admissions area…a few park benches available but not enough for everyone there. When standing for HOURS, even low wedges begin to make things uncomfortable. At each instance though, we tailgated before entering the racing arena and any heels got caught in the grass and/or sank…many times, the grass is already trampled on from previous races throughout the season. Just some helpful tips from a “seasoned race fan”. Oh, I wore a hate every time!!!

    1. Good shoes and sunscreen is ALWAYS my advice for the races! You might look gorgeous walking in with 5 inch heels but you will have a miserable time. Great Derby day outfit!

  11. You look so pretty in this dress. I love dresses that are simple lines and you post a lot of that style. I’ve really enjoyed following your blog with giving the importance of not only beauty on the outside, but on the inside as well! I also am similar in your color tones and can’t seem to find the posting you supplied on what self tanning product you use. Please reply.
    Thank you,
    Laurie

  12. Love the dress, LOVE the hat! I am not a hat person, but once a year my company has a ladies tea party where we wear dresses and hats. I bought one hat a couple of years ago that I still wear that has a similar feel to your hat, only a darker beige color. Now I’m inspired to wear it for the Kentucky Derby!

  13. I’m not familiar with that brand dress but I do like. Price is tish more than I like to spend but would be worth it if quality is good as everyone is commenting. Thank you for work and sharing. Have a blessed day.

  14. I also Love this outfit! I was wondering what you ladies do about getting cold with sleeveless dresses? The men bundle up in suits, socks and shoes then turn the a/c down …. The ladies freeze… I have tried sweaters and shrugs but not sure if they look right. Plus they Cover up the dress Just wondering… This whole outfit is a home run

  15. You look so pretty! I love Eliza J dresses also. I do feel they run a size smaller than most dresses in case anyone orders online. 😊

  16. Oh my! That dress is gorgeous! You look stunning, and picture perfect! I love everything from head to toe. You truly are a southern belle! The epitome of Grace and Beauty. I have no more words……… this is by far one of my favorite posts.

  17. Very summerish. I love this dress but think the price is a bit challenging to justify it for a “one time wear”

    1. I will not wear it one time, I’lll wear it to several different events. Plus it will hopefully last for several years.
      Blessings,
      Cyndi

      1. Cyndi, not sure how if this is the place to ask you a question but….first, I love your style and you give me such inspiration and great ideas. I’m constantly purchasing pieces that you’ve modeled and recommend. I was wondering where you purchased the earrings in this post. They look great with the dress and are perfect with a flowered pattern. Thanks and great job everyday!

  18. You look beautiful in this dress and hat! Could you please tell us what size dress you’re wearing? Thanks!

  19. I just discovered the Eliza J brand available here in Canada at The Bay. Just love it. They are perfect for us women over 40 and come in plus sizes as well that don’t just hang like a sack of potatos like many plus size options do.

  20. Cyndi, The dress is gorgeous and you are absolutely stunning in it! The hat is very pretty as well. Because I have to wear eye glasses, I just don’t like me in hats if any kind.

    Great Beauty For the Heart!

    Have a blessed day!

  21. You are stunning!! Just had to say…

by the way…just a funny aside…my daughter’s name is Eliza Jayne. I have to send her a picture of this dress…

      1. Thank you ! She is named for her grandmother on her father’s side who came to America from Ireland as a young woman.

      2. P.S. She loves hats! She wanted to be married in one. I think that if she had seen the one that you are wearing she would have chosen it.

  22. Love the style of the dress. I can’t get over the hat! So adorable and perfect!! We have a ton a weddings this summer too starting this Friday. 🙂 I actually have a stock of “dresses for weddings” LOL.

    xx-S

  23. Hi Cyndi,
That is such a pretty dress, it looks perfect on you. Have you thought of wearing a “fascinator”?think Kate Middleton;)

  24. Absolutely stunning, love the whole outfit. Don’t hats just finish off an outfit. Over here in the UK, hats are worn most definitely to weddings and of course race meetings. Bring back hats I say we all live wearing them.
    Happy Monday.
    Love Nicky xxx

  25. Absolutely stunning Cyndi! The hat, oh the hat! How I wish hats were back in vogue for more than just an occasional event. Now do tell; will you truly wear it to a wedding and will other women wear them too?
Grace, mercy and peace to you from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

    1. Sandi I will not wear the hat to the wedding. But i’m definitely wearing the dress. The hat was in honor of the Ky. Derby. 🙂
      Cyndi

  26. SO PRETTY! I will need a dress soon…for my own wedding :), but it will be simple – even the floral one would work beautifully.

  27. Love this dress on you and I have bought Eliza J dresses before and love the quality. Thank you for sharing…

  28. Love the outfit! Wondering about the earrings? Always have a hard time with floral prints choosing jewellery. Like the earrings you chose!

  29. Gorgeous! You will be the Belle of the Ball! I love the hat! As always the message from the heart was great! Have a blessed day!
