Sneak Peek Of Our New Home

As most of you probably know by now, Wayne and I are in the process of moving. We close on our new home on Monday morning. We are moving because we wanted a home that has some land.

My husband grew up on a farm and he has always wanted a small farm. I feel like we are like the Green Acres couple (I’ve never watched the show but I do remember the song.) 🙂

Anyway, the home we are buying is only a few years old and is a craftsmen style home. I recently snapped a few pictures with my iphone. I plan on getting some good pictures with my camera on Monday.

I shared this picture from The Inspired Room with you, this is how I’m having my stair rails painted.

By the way, Melissa is a friend of mine and her home books are amazing!! You can check them out here.

Sneak Peek Of Our New HomeMy pictures are grainy because I used my iphone but this is my staircase. Also, all the walls will be painted.

Sneak Peek Of Our New HomeThe hardwood floors have to be redone because they have some bad places in them. They are maple and we are going to try and darken them up a little.

Sneak Peek Of Our New HomeThis is our great room, it will be painted and we are hoping to add a fireplace (the curtains are not mine).

Sneak Peek Of Our New HomeSneak Peek Of Our New HomeThis will be my office (it’s small) and I am planning on purchasing the white IKEA desk. I hoping my sister and I can get there this week.

Sneak Peek Of Our New HomeThat’s it for now! I will share more in the coming weeks.

  1. Congratulations on your new home (farm!). I look forward to seeing snippets of your progress as you make it your own. Best wishes.

  2. Thanks for sharing, Cyndi! I think it’s going to be beautiful and I can’t wait to see what you do with it. Wishing you lots of happiness and fun memories in your new home!

  3. I love decorating and Cyndi, your new home is going to be gorgeous!! Once you get the colors you want, and that staircase? Oh it’s going to be so lovely! I am so happy for you!!! I imagine you are very stressed but I also imagine your excitement is growing day by day 🙂 I can’t wait to see the finish product. I too am in love with the way you want to do your stairs. xo

  4. Thanks for sharing your pictures. It looks nice already, and I’m sure it will be lovely when you have put your personal touches on it.

  5. Cyndi, the website Houzz has some great photos of staircases in case you need more ideas. When my husband and I built our home 3 years ago I used the site for inspiration. Blessing to you, and your family on your new home.

  6. I’m sure you will make this “house” into a beautiful HOME. Can’t wait to see all the pictures – especially after you’ve added your own decoration ideas and personal touches.

Praying all goes smoothly on Monday

  7. Thank you for sharing your new home with us. God helped you choose this house for a reason. I can’t wait to see the changes you make to the home for you and Wayne. Many blessing to you, as you touch our hearts each and every day with your posts.

  8. I think your home is just wonderful and I too, can’t wait to see it finished! I am usually just a blog ‘lurker’ but I just want to take a minute to tell you how much I appreciate your blog. I just turned 60 (sheesh!!) and it’s become VERY difficult to know what to wear without looking old-ladyish or like a teeny-bopper. Your blog is so very helpful to know how to stay in style and how to put things together (i.e. pants and the right heels or shoes) so I don’t look like a dork! 🙂 as well as how to locate these items so I don’t have to wander around clueless in stores. Again, thank you so much for your blog!!

    1. Hi Tina! Thank you so much for stopping by! I’m so glad my blog has helped you to be stylish at 60 (which is not old).
      Blessings,
      Cyndi

  9. Cyndi,

Thank you for sharing the pictures of your new home. I can’t wait to see how you make it your own. You have such great style! I am also looking forward to your new series for summer. I know your life will be hectic in the next few months, but it’s good to be busy when you’re busy with blessings.

I like your Beauty for the Heart today. Prayer is a big part of my life. Prayer does change things; it changes me. 😀

  10. Loved seeing the pics of your new home. Can’t wait to see more with your personal touch! Best wishes!!

  11. Looks like a lovely home that will be even lovelier after you put your special touch on it. Very excited for you!

  12. Thanks for sharing, I love your new home, can’t wait to see the updated pics as you progress with the changes. I am so excited for you! Have a great day, I know it’s gonna be a busy one!😊

  13. God Bless you and your Hubbie in your new home.
My you have lots of love and peace there. Really enjoying your emails. Love all your Pinterest

  14. So cute! Thanks for sharing-also i am shopping for a white desk and saw one at target-so you can view it online if you want!

  15. Cyndi, thank you so much for sharing fashion, God, and some of your personal life with us! That’s what friends do! Enjoy the redecorating and making your new home look like y’all! Is your husband going to continue being a full time minister or become a farmer? We are about to start readying our current primary home to sell so that we can move to our smaller country home. We have a lot of furniture to get rid of. I have a nice desk that needs a little work. I wish you lived closer because I’d give you a very good deal on it!

    God bless!

  16. Beautiful! I love how you share not only fashion and the word of God, but your life story as well. Good luck with the move and settling in. Looking forward to seeing more of the home. God bless.

  17. I forgot to mention the Green Acres comment – I can to totally see you and Wayne in the opening song from things you’ve mentioned in the past…..it made me laugh 🙂

  18. Morning Cyndi,’
This is exciting, looking forward to seeing more pics. I had a laugh when you wrote.. THOSE.ARE.NOT.MY.CURTAINS 😉
    Have a great weekend

  19. Thank you for sharing these with us…looking forward to seeing the results of your hard work! I’m sure it will be gracious, warm, and inviting.

  20. Enjoy working on your new home. It’s always a blessing to me to get to change a new home & make it mine (& my husband’s ). I always enjoy your verses and sayings.

  21. Thank you for sharing! It’s a crazy busy time in your life, but also exciting. Please keep us updated. I also love to see other people’s houses and how they decorate. Happy moving!!

  22. Beautiful home. I will tell you one thing, I also have maple hardwood floors, they scratch easily. So if you have a dog, you may as well expect the floors to get nail marks. It is a softer wood than oak, but I love the grain of the maple. So I can over look the scratches…

  23. Congratulations on your new home.
It looks very well built. I know you will decorate it with grace and Beauty.
    Have a wonderful weekend.

  24. Looks like it’s going to be awesome once it’s painted. I love the inspiration room colors with the white and black stair rail and grey walls. Since your office is on the smaller side you can maybe think about removing the closet door and putting in bookshelves as an open storage concept, similar to a built in bookshelf. And it looks like you’ll get lot of sunlight from that nice window. Thanks for sharing and so excited for you! Have a great weekend.

  25. So excited for you! You will have this feeling like YOUR home in no time. Can’t wait to see more 😃

  26. Such an exciting time! I am going to love seeing how it all comes together. I am a huge fan of the HGTV shows ( Flip or Flop, Love it or List It, Fixer Upper etc!!!) that makeover spaces. I am in the beginning stages of a Reno ( kitchen remodel and changing paint color) so this is interesting to me! What paint color are you planning on? I like the color in the Inspired Room! Best wishes as you move into your new home!

  27. Thanks for sharing some pictures Cyndi! I love what I see. I get excited seeing other peoples houses. I think I missed my calling and should have been a real estate agent….lol
    Have a great day
