Coming To Grace & Beauty This Summer!

It’s Monday and it’s moving day for us! The movers will be here at 8:00 this morning. Yikes! As you can imagine there are boxes everywhere.

Summer is one of my favorite seasons and I’m so excited because I have a lot of fun coming to the blog this summer.

First, 22 Days of Summer Fashion begins June 1st! Jo-lynne and I will be styling an outfit a day, Monday through Friday (we’ll take Saturday and Sunday off).

2016summerfash22days

Jo-Lynne and I show you casual summer outfits. We love to add some trendy pieces into our outfits that work for women over 40.

I will be styling casual dresses, shorts, capri’s and some bathing suit cover ups. Plus I’ll add a lot of accessories.

Next, I’m doing my first Grace & Beauty style challenge! Registration for this begins June 3rd.

How is this style challenge different from my 22 days of summer style series? I’m glad you asked!

This style challenge is for Summer Work Wear. (This is will be casual work wear not dressy business attire.)

Beauty For the Heart~~“Expect to encounter adversity in your life, remembering that you live in a deeply fallen world.”

Wow, how true is that? Adversity is a part of our life but that adversity can draw us closer to Jesus.

Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. James 1:2-4

Have a blessed day!

  1. I’m interested in the challenge & have been trying lots of new jewelry/shoes/make up out of the comfort zone. Seem to still be stuck on clothes.

  2. I’m really excited about this challenge. I’ve been reading your blog for a couple of years now and LOVE IT. However, I’ve been looking for help with my workwear. Being on the road about 50 weeks out of the year, I need easy to pack, stylish workwear that can be mixed and matched. Ready to learn from you and my new friends that I will meet in this challenge.

  3. Cyndi,
I hope you hold true to your statement that your blog will not change with the addition of the style challenge. I used to follow another fashion/lifestyle blogger from Texas. However, she stopped posting makeup and style reviews and tips, etc. and changed to strictly selling access to her style challenges every season. I signed up and paid for a couple of the style challenges but didn’t enjoy them as much. It’s hard to envision what an outfit looks like when the pieces are just laid out flat and photographed. I prefer seeing the outfit on a live person so I can know how it looks out together before I shop. I also can’t justify the cost of the challenges. I understand affiliate links on a blog and have no problem with that.

I have followed your blog since 2014 or before. I still remember when you took your photos inside your house. Your honesty and budget friendly pieces is what kept me coming back. I enjoy reading your blog and have purchased numerous items from your suggestions. Please don’t change your format.

    1. I promise I’m not going to change my format. I had to laugh when you said you followed me when I took my pictures in my home. 🙂
      Cyndi

      1. I agree with L. I think I followed the same Texas blogger. I appreciate that everyone needs to make money but clothes are hard to judge when they are flat vs. on an actual person (not a 5’10” model!)

  4. This sounds fantastic! I would love to participate in this. I have a couple of questions on this first, though. Are these outfits that will transition easily into fall? I am a teacher, so my need for workwear clothing is less during the summer months. I will need something to transition into the next school year, however, as it is usually warm for at least the first few weeks. Will you be doing a similar thing in the fall? Thanks for all your style inspiration! I love your blog!!

  5. So glad to see attention to work wear!! Thank you!! With the casual work wear you’re looking to do, this will include things I can wear anywhere by mixing with more casual pieces and jazz up my casual wardrobe at the same time – sounds perfect to me.
I’m awaiting more info before I sign up – again, thanks so much for the work wear focus.
Hope all went well with the move and you love your new home.
    God bless you.

  6. The cost to sign up is $39, but what is the estimated cost of participating? I like to know what the financial obligation will be before committing. Is this like Stitch Fix? If I am not on Face Book is it possible to do this?

I appreciate you attention to spiritual details and your Christian testimony.

  7. Good luck with the move Cyndi. I know it’s very emotional because I have done it a few times. Can’t wait to see pics of your new home. I’m so amazed at how you multi-task with everything that you have going on. I really love your style and your positive words …thanks so much!

  8. I have never done a style challenge before, but it sounds fun. I look forward to your answers to the questions posted. Hope your move is going smoothly 🙂

  9. Can you explain the challenge a little more? I have seen this on another site, but I am not certain it is the same.
We will receive a shopping list, that we then find a similar item at any place we like to shop? Then we get suggestions on how to combine the pieces? And then a Facebook group?
Is the shopping list the same for everyone or is it individualize based on things like body shape?
    Thank you!

  10. Good luck with your move. You have lots of happy memories to take with you, I’m sure your mom is watching over you and is full of approval for your new home. Now go and make many more memories with Wayne and be thankful you have such a wonderful also handsome husband to take you through this next journey of your lives together.😘😘

  11. I am in for the Style Challenge. Sounds like sign up date is in June. Best of luck on the move!

  12. I would like to do the challenge. I love your style! How do I sign up?

Good luck on your move today!

  13. Does the challenge work for a gal in Oregon? You email us the ideas and we go pick up the clothes or a similiar version? Sign me up – thanks!!!!! Embrace your new adventure.

  14. I would love to be part of the challenge. How do we sign up?
Will they be budget friendly shopping lists?

  15. Blessings on your move today! Moving makes me a little melancholy. Excited for the new, but reminiscent for what is being left behind. I’m not usually like that….just certain things make me that way.

Regarding the work wear Style Challenge….school is out in 9 days. I will be in shorts and flip flops as much as possible (except for church of course) until August. Do you think you might do a “Back to School” on for us teachers out here???? Just a thought.

  16. I hope all goes well with your move, Cyndi.
I, too don’t work outside of the home, but am wondering if your challenge would be appropriate for me. I think it probably would.
One more thing, and I’m sorry to keep asking. I’m receiving your email posts on a hit or miss basis. Any idea of what I can do? Thank you, and blessings.

  17. Good luck with the move today! We are beginning to get our house ready to sale. Like you, it’s going to be emotional for me. My parents built this house as their dream home, and my mom lived here with Larry & me for the last 20 years. I am trying to keep the mindset that I used while I was employed, so that I can keep my emotions intact.

    God bless you!

  18. Just trying to get clear on the challenge. You will be sending links to possible outfits, right?

  19. Hello, love your styling, I am stuck – I am 53, like conservative styles – Ralph Lauren but way out of my budget!!!! Any suggestions for what to wear to a graduation in one of those giant indoor stadium type places followed by a cookout at the friends house we’re staying at for the weekend – it is supposed to be in the 80’s during the day 60’s at night – I love your style – but I’ll be wearing flats h
    eehee

  20. Love to participate but I will not shop at Target due to their new bathroom/fitting room policies. Sorry Cyndi but I’ve got to stand for what’s right on this one.

    1. Amanda, you don’t have to shop at Target to be a part of this challenge. That was an older graphic that was used on a previous style challenge, I will change that graphic. 🙂
      Blessings,
      Cyndi

  21. Moving day–how exciting (and, indeed, bittersweet). If the painters have worked their magic in your new home, I can only imagine the giggly glee of going from room to room, finding the perfect new spots for your favorite loved belongings and making the new house YOUR home in no time at all.

Looking forward to more information on your style challenge and will be following replies to other comments that included questions. Thank you for sharing part of yourself with all of us.

    God bless!

  22. Good luck on the move today and the remaining days of unpacking!!

I too am up for the challenge…..where do I sign up!!!

  23. I understand your sadness today but there will be lots of new memories made in your new home. God bless you today, tomorrow and always.

  24. I am plus size as well. Will this apply to me? I teach in a Catholic school, so I don’t work in the summer, but when we start back it will still be warm. How do we sign up for the challenge?

  25. I don’t work outside the home either … will you do a more casual series or do you think this one could still work for me? I love your style and modesty! I can see myself in just about every outfit you post. Blessings to you and good luck with the move 😉

  26. Congratulations on your move! Very exciting times and as I recall you have a pool at your new house – FUN! Your grandson is going to love coming to CiCi’s house even more :).

  27. I, too, do not work outside of the home but I would be interested if you think it would apply to me. What do you think?
    Good luck today!

  28. Best of luck with your new home! Sounds like a fun adventure! Can’t wait for the summer outfits. Can you a day on what to wear to a parade on Memorial day. I never know what to wear. Thanks.

  29. I’m 61 and don’t work, but I want to try your style challenge! Let me know how to sign up! Thank you for all you do and your sweet messages. I hope you have smooth sailing on moving day!

  30. I can understand how bittersweet this move will be, I’ve been in our home 32 years and have many memories but I’m excited to see your new home and I know your mom would be happy for you!

I would love to take this course but like another comment above, I don’t work anymore and since I retired I find that I still buy more clothes than I need as I still want to look pulled together every day. BUT I do find myself in a “rut” (like the lady above said) and seem to wear the same “old” things over and over. Maybe you could do a series of non-working ladies a bit older than yourself but that still like to look good.

I ‘m looking forward to this summer series as I always get lots of good ideas from you Cindi!

GOod luck with your move today!

  31. I would love to try the challenge. Hope all goes well moving. It’s stressful but so worth it when all is said and done.

  32. Best of luck on your move today! I’m sure even your “moving day” outfit is fashionable!!

Thanks for taking the time on this busy day to share your “Grace & Beauty”

    1. Im with Barbara! I want to see what you wore on moving day! 😉 Blessings for a safe and productive day…..

  33. I would LOVE to do the challenge. Sign me up. Love your style and have no time to shop. Do you pick out the outfits and I pay the fee? I’m in.
Good luck with your move! 🏠🚛👒👠👖👕👌

  34. Happy moving day, praying everything goes well. I am wondering if you challenge would work for me. I do not work outside of the house and will be turning 55 soon. You always look so pretty and put together. I am stuck in a rut!
