Grace Is Our Greatest Hope

I am always amazed at God’s grace! Why he chooses to forgive and love me is often more than my heart and mind can comprehend. But He is so faithful!

Lamentations 3:22-23 says, “Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”

God has extended grace to me and because of that, I am to extend grace to those around me.

I’m going to be honest and say there are some people in my life that I don’t want to forgive. My “flesh” side says they don’t deserve it.

But Christ says, if you refuse to forgive others, your Father will not forgive your sins. Matthew 6:15

As hard as it is at times, I am to love the unloveable.

My son, who is in Iceland called me yesterday so upset because he may have had one friend there. We did find out via Facebook that he was ok. I text Corey and told him to live everyday of his life that God has given him with love and forgiveness! I love your post thanks again! Shari

  3. God wanted me to hear this message. I have had the hardest time forgiving a certain person who I loved dearly but who betrayed me. The pain has been unbearable and because of that I am having a hard time forgiving this person. I have been praying that God will help me to find forgiveness.

  5. Tragic what happened in Orlando. So much hatred in our world. We need to pray for all those affected by this senseless violence.

  6. I babysat my Grandson’s last night ages 1 and 5. The cartoon movies for little ones today contain scenes that surprised me. The volience, and guns start in children’s movies. Most parents are desensitized..it’s our generation that grew up with Sound of Music, Pollyanna, Mary Poppins….

    GOOD DOWN TO EARTH MORALS, VALUES and PRINCIPALS are also missing. Children aren’t going to Sunday School and Parents aren’t going to Church. They’ve lost hope.

    God did say he would bless the generations….so we need to keep praying for our families.

  7. I struggle with forgiveness every day. And every day I pray for the strength and grace to forgive. Thank you for your post today, it was something I needed. It is horrendous what has happened in Orlando. It’s hard to imagine someone hating enough to take all those lives.

    1. Hi Jacqui – I hope you don’t mind me commenting on your post. Many years ago, I was finally convicted about forgiving someone I never thought I could forgive. It took a LONG time… years actually… to finally forgive her. I had prayerful friends praying with me, and for me. I also read a book called, “Total Forgiveness” by R.T. Kendall. All I can say is WOW!! It completely convicted me and that led to my forgiveness of a family member who never apologized or even acknowledged what she had done to me. 15 years later, she still hasn’t apologized. But I am at peace with it. Complete peace, that only Christ can give. I hope this is helpful for you. I will be praying for you too. I know how hard it can be. God bless you 😉

  8. Thank you, Cyndi. I live just a few miles from the horrific tragedy here in Orlando. Today has been hard, but I have hope in my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! This nation needs our Savior! Come quickly Lord Jesus!!

    1. Sorry this happened so close ‘to home’. Be safe and know that ultimately Christ is in control of every situation that occurs. We just don’t understand why, although like Cindy said, we’ve taken our Lord out of our schools and governments.

  9. So sad, coming from Australia with tough gun laws, I can’t understand why this man was allowed to purchase two more guns last week when he was on a watch list

      1. Well 24 million people wouldn’t agree with you, but hey this is a fashion blog so will keep politics out of it. Our prayers go to the victims and their families

    1. Lynn: He worked for the government with a security company. He had all the licenses that where required.
      And most of the people in Australia say giving up their guns has only made it easier for the bad people.

      1. Sorry but the comment about Australia is just not true. Not sure of your source, bu I we have never had guns. I personally don’t know anyone who has or wants a gun except friends who live on a farm ( they need it to stop wild pigs eating their animals). There are still gun clubs for enthusiasts. Our last major massacre was 20 years ago in Port Arthur. That’s when we tightened the control on guns. The very very few shootings we have are mostly between criminals. The Sydney siege last year where 2 lost their lives would have been much worse if the attacker had been able to get a gun like the one used in Orlando.

  10. I have been struggling for 25 years to work with a self-centered mother-in-law. Forgiveness and compassion are so hard through many painful situations. I have not been rejoicing in this trial! But knowing that even the best of us (like you) struggle, I know I am not alone. Thank you for your honesty.
