Summer Olympic Inspired Outfit

Today I’m joining 4 bloggers as we share some Coast to Coast Summer Survival. Every Tuesday during the month of August, we’re going to talk about a topic related to surviving the last month of summer.

Today’s post is inspired by the Olympics and I’m sharing an Olympic inspired outfit. I’m amazed at the athletes that are participating in the Olympics. The dedication to their sport is so inspiring.

While I am not a strong athlete, I am trying to stay healthy and I know exercising is an important part in helping me feel and look my best.

Summer Olympic Inspired Outfit
This summer I have enjoyed wearing crop leggings since it’s so hot.

Beauty for the Heart~~As I was writing this post about athletes and working out, 1 Timothy 4:8 came to my mind.

“Physical training is good, but training for godliness is much better, promising benefits in this life and in the life to come.”

Working out is good for us but our spiritual training (reading scripture, praying, etc.) has benefits that are eternal.

Have a blessed day!

  1. Hi Cyndi, I’m a huge fan of your blog and thank you for all you share with us! Can I ask what you do for fitness? Looking to start exercising again in addition to joining weight watchers! God Bless ~ Angie

  2. Love to work out… and you are darling in your work out clothing! Sorry don’t watch the Olympics… no TV line since 05. Not for spiritual reasons just health and physical reasons and now we mention getting it and the kids say no… so I know we made a good choice in 05. We do have a TV and watch movies of our choice. and go to the movie theater for fun. My profession for a few years was cleaning homes and I wore clothing JUST like this, neon tops and black or navy bottoms!! God bless you and stay safe, enjoy your new home!

  3. I love this outfit and you look absolutely adorable in it! I was disappointed when I clicked on the link for the shirt and that color wasn’t an option. The others just don’t look as good in my opinion.
Thanks for the inspiration. God bless.

  4. I worked out for the first time since I had ear surgery last Thursday and an over night in the hospital. It was nice to walk on the treadmill. I could not lift the weights I usually do , but I know that will come. I always feel so good for myself and just my thinking time.

  5. This post resonated with me. I know I need to work out but I feel self conscious in most workout clothing. I could see myself wearing that outfit even with the extra pounds I need to lose. It looks great on you. It also seems like something that would flatter lots of body types not just the super tall and thin.

Do you have any suggestions on what to wear when your arms are heavy, the temps are soaring (I live in Georgia and it’s hot & muggy) and you need to go outside to work out?

I’m tired of letting the way I look keep me from getting out there to be active and healthy. This post is inspiring!!

    1. Mary I would wear a shirt like I have on with sleeves if you are self conscious. But definitely get out there and be active, you will feel better!! God Bless, Cyndi

  6. How ADORABLE are you??? ahh I love it! Love this outfit. You are motivating me to want to work out! 🙂 Have a blessed day today.

  7. I like your outfit & it’s very flattering but proper! I too agree about the volleyball outfits! Outrageous! And yet that’s what the girls wear at the Military School where I work! Way too suggestive to me.

  8. Could not wait until the Olympics started!! My favorite sport to watch is gymnastics! Simone Biles grew up in our town. My daughter knows the Biles family and they are wonderful!! I also love the beach volleyball and have been watching Jennings for years and she still looks amazing after 3 kids!!!
Yes, love the Beauty for the Heart!! <3
Blessings!! Oh love your athletic outfit!!

  9. Your hair makes the most adorable ponytail. Perfectly perky! I wish mine looked like that! Bold colors like this yellow are my go to for working out! I love your kicks, too!

  10. You look great. I agree about those Olympic volleyball players. I love watching them but find their outfits a little distracting. They’re all in such fantastic shape though!

I’m on the hunt for workout shorts that aren’t short running shorts but aren’t leggings either. I have a pair of knit Reebok shorts from a few years ago that I love – sort of legging material but not tight and they’re so comfortable. Everything is so short now and my legs can’t do short. 🙂 If anyone has any suggestions, I’d welcome them!

    1. I got Stonewear Designs Rockin Shorts at Kohls that I absolutely love, so comfortable. I just checked and Kohls doesn’t carry them anymore but if you put them in the search on the internet there are several places that do have them. My husband and I walk every night and I love when it’s time to put them on, cute and comfy.

  11. adorably cute!!! Love the messy ponytail too!!! I’m insprired to at least go to the mall and walk!!! It’s so hot in Alabama right now, outside is out of the question!! LOL Love today’s inspiration too!!!!

  12. I really like your outfit you look cute. I talk a lot about working out I know I should I will get there. Thank you for your daily quotes they seem to hit home just at the right time!!!! 😊 Enjoy your day!!!!

  13. Love your beauty for the heart today! Such a great reminder that we need our spiritual training desperately everyday! You da best Cyndi…

  14. Hi Cyndi,
I’ve been following your blog for awhile now, and it looks like (to me) that you have slimmed down over the last few years. Have you experienced any weight gain in your midsection that you’ve had to work at to get rid of? I only ask
because it is a major issue for me. I’ve never been one to hold much weight until the last 6 or 7 years. Now with each passing year I put on more weight even though I’ve changed my eating habits considerably. I’m not much of an exerciser at all, so I just was interested to see if there is something that you do to keep stomach weight down. I fear that it is just the dreaded “menopot” and I’m just gonna have to deal with it. Any and all suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks:)

    1. Hi Camille,
I have lost a few pounds over the last few years and I think it has to do with exercising. I do try to eat healthy but adding the exercise has been huge for me. When I first started exercising I dreaded it but now I enjoy it. It’s a great stress reliever!!
      Blessings,
      Cyndi

  15. While I do not exercise for many reasons, I think that the moving we are in the midst of is a good substitute. Not much time to just sit & do nothing. We too are watching the Olympics. Our favorite sports are gymnastics and swimming/diving. Go Team USA! Beauty For the Heart is awesome.

    Have a blessed day!

  16. I noticed that the link for the crop pants are to Kohl’s. I love their workout gear. Whenever I receive a 30% coupon in the mail, I head over to get workout clothes. Top brands for great prices. I wear my Fitbit all the time to get in my 10,000 steps or more a day. Keeps me motivated to do just a little more walking every day.

  17. Love your workout clothes, they really look cute on you! Thanks for sharing and being such an inspiration! Have a great afternoon!😊

  18. I love working out but I sometimes feel that girls in shape only wear skimpy gear. Thanks for this post. It’s inspired me and helped me see that there are great options for women who want to look great in workout wear but stay more covered up.
Your blog is just so awesome!

  19. I have worked out for many years. Years ago I jogged and worked out with weights a lot. Now I swim and walk plus yoga. I want to encourage you to exercise. It is wonderful for the body mind and spirit.

  20. I hate to admit it, but I have a hard time convincing myself to workout…I even have a gym membership and haven’t stepped foot in there in more than a year . I know I should, I want to be healthier and I always feel better afterward, just getting there feels like a heavy burden. I was walking 3-4 times a week until I hurt my back in July. Thanks for the inspiration Cyndi!
