I Am Second

I am back home today and headed to church soon. We had a wonderful day at the pumpkin patch yesterday and I’m sharing a few pictures below.

i-am-secondFirst, I’m not sure if you’re familiar with the I Am Second movement. Here is how it’s described on the website:

I am Second is a movement meant to inspire people of all kinds to live for God and for others. Actors. Athletes. Musicians. Business leaders. Drug addicts. Your next-door neighbor. People like you. The authentic stories on iamsecond.com provide insight into dealing with typical struggles of everyday living. These are stories that give hope to the lonely and the hurting, help from destructive lifestyles, and inspiration to the unfulfilled. You’ll discover people who’ve tried to go it alone and have failed. Find the hope, peace, and fulfillment they found. Be Second.

The movement started as a conviction in the heart of the founder, Norm Miller, directed by the verse from John 12:32, And when I am lifted up from the earth, I will draw everyone to myself.

Basically, it’s people admitting that Christ is first and they are second. They recently interviewed Chip and Joanna Gaines.

Many of you, like me, watch their HGTV show and if you haven’t seen this video, I thought you would enjoy it.

As believers it’s up to us to share our testimony with those around us and when we do, Christ will be lifted up. Amen?

Here are a few pictures from our time at the pumpkin patch yesterday. Colt Allen was sure having fun! I don’t think there’s anything better than the laughter of a child.

pumpkin-patchSome of you follow my sister’s blog, Beneath My Heart. They have recently adopted a little girl from Latvia. This is Sania Louise with Colt Allen and they had just made it to the top of the tire pyramid.

Lots of videos with so many different kinds of believers that I can share with so many different family members & friends & pray that they are touched & receive Jesus. xoxo thanks again. Great pics of your fam also!

  3. Love the Gaines video. I just saw this a couple days ago at work. I am second too! God bless you for serving the kingdom Cyndi 😉 love all your photos too 😉

  4. Thank you for sharing your beautiful family with us and for the Chip and Joanna video. My husband and I will soon be celebrating our wedding anniversary so I will share this video with him then. He’s loves their show and will be inspired by the video.

  5. Thanks for sharing the pictures of your precious family today! I have been very familiar with the I am Second for a good while. I think my daughter heard this from me many times as a teen and young adult.😊 Thankful this movement is circling back around to remind us all to make God our # 1 priority and lift His name in all we do. Thank you for the reminder this morning friend.

  6. My goodness! What a powerful video! This describes my husband and I and I had him listen and when it was finished we both embraced each other! Thank you for sharing and reaffirming that we are not alone in this journey called life. Those of us who have stuck it out through the messy part of life are truly blessed.
I read your post before going to church on Sundays and it just is a bit better afterwards.
Thank you Cyndi! May God continue to bless you and your family!

  7. Thanks for the reminder to be 2nd. 🙂 Love the family pictures of you all at the pumpkin patch. Beautiful day! Any pictures of you?

  8. Cyndi, I am not familiar with that movement. Thank you for sharing the family pictures with us. I do follow Traci & am thrilled about the adoption. That’s one blessed little girl.

  9. I have not heard of I am second but I am very encouraged by this. I will share it with everyone I know sometimes you just need a conversation starter to lead some one to Christ. Thank you so much for sharing this with us!

  10. Cyndi…..Thank you for sharing the video of Chip and Joanna! I do to love to watch their show and love to watch their personalities together as a couple.

    In Christ,
    Holly

  11. Cyndi, I hadn’t heard of the I Am Second Movement but certainly have always believed that. Makes me think of John 3:30: “He must increase but I must decrease.” Today my husband is being honored for 30 years as minister of the church where we serve. We are being recognized at a reception this afternoon. While that makes my heart so appreciative, it makes the rest of me so nervous. I do not like being in the center of attention. Give me a room full of children to teach or a piano to play, but not being in front of adults! However I don’t want to be ungrateful. Most of all , I am Second and only want God to receive any praise! Thanks for your message today.

      1. Suzanna, I just prayed for you today! I’m the same way in not liking to be in the spotlight. Your congregation is expressing God’s commandment to love one another just as Christ loved. I pray you are able to relax and soak up their affection for the purposeful call God has placed upon you and your husband!

    1. I am praying for you, Suzanne! What a sweet spirit you have- I can read it in your words. Congratulations to you and your husband. My hubby was a pastor for just a few years so I know how challenging it can be to be a pastor’s wife! <3

    2. God bless your heart Suzanne. Thank you for serving Gods people so well. I’m sure you put a smile on HIS face. 😉

    3. Suzanne I hope the reception went well. What a wonderful testimony to have been at your church for 30 years. That definitely deserves recognition.
      Blessings,
      Cyndi
