Chunky Knit Turtleneck-Winter Fashion

Well, it’s Day 25 of my 25 Days of Winter fashion! Jo-lynne and I love doing these style collabs, it’s always more fun with a friend.

Today I’m styling this chunky knit turtleneck with a trendy pointed hem. I love the added detail with the hem which gives it a unique look. It’s also a warm sweater and felt good since it was 19 degrees outside when we took these pictures.

Beauty For the Heart~~This morning I was listening to Christmas music as I was finishing up this post. “Count your Blessings” came on from the movie White Christmas.

The lyrics say, “When I’m worried and I can’t sleep, I count my blessings instead of sheep, And I fall asleep, counting my blessings”.

This song reminds me of my Mom, she was always counting her blessings. Today if you’re worried or if you’re feeling a little overwhelmed this Christmas season, take a few minutes to count your blessings. You’ll feel much better when you count those blessings.

What blessings are you thankful for today?

  1. I love red with Cheetah this time of year!! Today I’m wearing my cheetah pants with a red turtleneck and camel colored long sweater. Your outfits are always inspiring!

  2. You look stunning in that sweater. By the way, love all the ideas you got for appetizers and will try a few myself. Love the block of cream cheese and we put jalapeño pepper jelly on in either red or green color for Christmas. I make the homemade pepper jelly.

  3. I’ve recently discovered you! Love your style and your heart. You have helped me become a more confident shopper and stylish dresser.

    Easiest appetizer ever.
Put a block of cream cheese on a pretty plate and pour a jar of pepper jelly on top (I like a chipotle pepper jelly). Serve with your favorite crackers. Done…and yummy!

  4. Wow 25 days went by so fast. I have learned a lot of style tips . I also have picked up on the camera poses and no longer mind having my picture taken. Can’t wait to see what your next blog brings.

  5. Gorgeous sweater!
I have a couple of recipes for you.
    Cheesy Artichoke Dip
I cup light mayo (do NOT use regular)
    1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
    1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/4 cup grated fresh parmesan cheese
    1 garlic clove minced
    dash of Tabasco sauce
1 (14 oz) can artichokes, drained and chopped
Combine the mayo, and cheeses in a large bowl and mix well. Stir in garlic, Tabasco and artichokes. Spoon into a 9 inch pie plate. Bake at 350 degree for 15 min or until bubbly. Serve hot with crackers
*I usually double the recipe and bake in an 9×13 pan, I have also cooked it in a crockpot. I also serve it with sliced toasted baquettes rather than crackers.

    Caramel Pecan Dream Bars
    Crust Topping
1 pkg yellow cake mix 1 egg
    1/3 c. butter, softened 1 tsp vanilla
    1 egg 1 c. chopped pecans
1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
1 pkg HEATH Bits o’ Brickle
Mix cake mix, butter and egg until crumbly, press into a 9×13 pan.Blend milk, 1 egg and vanilla,Stir in pecans and chips. Pour over cake mix, spreading to cover. Bake 25-30 min. until a wooden pick inserted in the center comes out clean.

  6. Hi Cyndi. Typing from my phone so hope this works. I would do Bacon Wrapped Dates :). Just get the pitted dates and wrap in bacon. I cut each strip in half and works to wrap 2 dates. Then secure with toothpick. Put on foiled wrapped cookie sheet 325 oven until bacon done. Usually about 25 min. Just watch them. For added yummy you could drizzle honey on top. My daughter puts goat cheese with hers too but didn’t ask her if she bakes with goat cheese or tops after baking. Enjoy your family. We have a family one DAturdsy. Taking my famous raspberry hello saksd. Easy and yummy. Love your outfit. Cute as always. Blessings.

  7. That color looks FANTASTIC on you!! Too bad they don’t carry fluffy girl sizes!

    Buffalo Chicken Dip
5- 8 oz softened blocks cream cheese
1 Jar Franks Red Hot Buffalo Sauce
    1 Small bottle of Ranch
2-3 Large cans of canned chicken( drained and shredded)

Add in the cream cheese, the whole bottle of Buffalo sauce, half of the bottle of ranch, mix all together, throw it in a crock pot on low, stir every hour until ready to serve. Use Tostito chips or vegis for dipping. (this is a teeny spicy, but not overly)

  8. Thank you Cyndi for your 25 days of fashion, especially during this busy time of year – you’re amazing!! I love to cook, so I have tons of Recipies, but a super super quick appetizer (I always keep ingredients on hand for unexpected guests) is take a room temp block of cream cheese, put it on a pretty dish and top with a few tablespoons of hot pepper jelly. Serve with assorted crackers and veggies. Super easy but everyone loves it!! Blessings everyone!!

  9. Cyndi: People LOVE these….

    Rotel Cups:

    3 pkgs of Fillo Shells
    1 can Rotel Drained
1 pkg of Hormel Bacon Bits
1 pkg of shredded Swiss cheese

Mix all ingredients and place a spoonfull in each shell.

Bake at 350 for 10 minutes.

Everyone RAVES about them and always asks me for the recipe. Quick and Easy!

  10. Hi Cyndi,

Love that sweater..the color looks great on you : )

Have a great weekend and thanks for your 25 days of winter fashion!!

  11. Love your outfit, Cyndi! My fav quick appetizer is made using a Mango Peach salsa from Costco. Take 8 oz cream cheese, spread it on a serving platter til it’s only about 1/4 inch thick & top with the salsa. Garnish with cilantro. Serve with Naked brand pita chips.

  12. Not sure how close you live to a Trader Joe’s? I for one happen to live near (2) within a 10-15 min drive. They have frozen cocktail size meatballs and an amazing KENTUCKY Bourbon BBQ sauce I have made recently. Just heat the meatballs up in the Microwave and then pour the BBQ sauce on them, cook about 3-4 minutes longer, dump into a crockpot and off you go! Delish!!! Merry Christmas from Folsom, CA.

  13. Cyndi, my husband turned on I heart radio Christmas last night and that song about counting your blessings came on. Such a beautiful song, I love that you mentioned it today in your post. We are headed over to Lexington ( from western Kentucky ) Saturday for a wedding. I told my husband that I really want to stop in Midway on the way home Sunday to shop in the lovely antique stores there, we might have to check out your restaurant suggestion… I revived an appetizer from my mom’s old cache, cocktail wieners rolled in cressant rolls and baked. I took it to our fall Burgoo cook and they were gone in a flash! Merry Christmas🎄
