I’m so honored that you have taken time out of your day to stop by my blog. If you don’t want to miss a post, you can sign up to receive my daily emails and you’ll never miss a thing. I’m also on FacebookPinterest and my favorite one, Instagram.

Beauty for the Heart~~I don’t know about you, buy I’m a morning person. I love to get up around 5 or 5:30 and start my day. Of course I start with coffee and I head to my office. I spend time reading scripture and praying first and as Psalm 5:3 says, I lay requests before the Lord.

In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly. Psalm 5:3

Are you a morning or a late night person?

Have a blessed day!

  1. I am currently doing a 30 day cleanse from Unicity. The sales lady was urging me to start after the holidays but I insisted. What sold me on it was that it includes a parasitic portion as well. You are not asked to change your diet but I still keep my sugar and red meats to a minimum. I have never done a juice cleanse but one that was close to it where you were allowed to eat fruit, vegetables and nuts as well.

You will make it. I have done “fasts” with no tea already and felt that I would always hungry but it became easier.

  2. I’m definitely not a morning person either but am looking forward to starting my new year off clean and healthy. I too would be very interested in the 3- day juice cleanse you ordered. Recently I’ve been practicing yoga and find it to be very beneficial to the mind, body, soul and since I too had a milestone year this year, I think it helps with what’s happening now. Happy new year and keep posting!

  3. Thank you for your posts. I feel the same way that you said – that I’m just recovering after the Christmas craziness. I work in a school so only have this week off and had such grand plans of getting things done around the house – cleaning the closets, scrubbing the cabinets etc but alas, nothing has gotten done. I did read a book though and wrote thank you notes for all the lovely gifts.
Love your outfits. I would love to know how you do with the juice cleanse. I’d love to do whole30 but too difficult with a family of 4 with two teenagers.
I just splurged and bought a bunch of things on sale at Gap and Loft and am feeling a little guilty but I spent $150 for 4 sweaters and 5 tops so great deals. We’ll see how they fit once I get them in the mail so I guess no more shopping for me for a while.

  4. Definitely not a early morning person, especially in the dark winter. I get up around 7am. I do like to get up a little earlier once the sun rises in the summer months to make the most of my day.
I know this is a good time to buy winter clothes but I think my closet is full already. I like to buy when the selection is good and at the start of a season (for the most wear).

  5. Thank you for a year of fun fashion and Godly encouragement!

Good luck with your 3-day juice cleanse. I’ve done it too but with a modified twist. I added in scrambled egg whites for dinner each of the 3 days along with nuts (raw almonds, cashews, and walnuts) and chicken broth during the day. I had to have a little extra protein as I was working when I did the cleanse. I did feel better afterwards and my skin was glowing. My homeopath doctor actually recommends coffee; it’s a liver and kidney friendly drink and new research says it helps to hold off symptoms of Alzheimers.

    God Bless!

  6. I’m a morning person get up have time with Lord and start my day. If I want to talk to anyone I have to wait til 8:00 or after.not to many late nights. Love the red sweat shirt and the scarf also. Yes let us know about your juice cleansing. Thank you!!!

  7. Wow!!! So many morning people. I wish I was, but no matter what I’ve tried over the many years, I just can’t do it. I always say I’m not a Christian until 10a.m. 🙂 I usually get up at 7:30a.m. and go to bed 11:15-11:30p.m. I feel the best keeping to a schedule. This of course was different when I worked full time. I still try to get my bible study in and prayer before I get my day going. I have some church kids coming over in an hour, so looking forward to babysitting them today. 🙂 Thanks Cyndi for the great year of devotionals and fashion. I just started following your blog March 2016 and its fun to open your email each morning. But, I have to say……I”m spending more. I might have to cut back this next year. My closet is getting full. Blessings for 2017.

  8. I go back and forth on mornings and nights – vacation always messes with my schedule though. I would be interested in the cleanse. Currently reading the book 10-day detox diet – and looking forward to getting started on that. Coffee /caffeine are both no-nos on this too . Not a resolution maker but determined to be better to my mind, body and soul this year.

  9. I am doing a 3 day cleanse Too! I am a coach for Beachbody and will be doing ours. It’s not all juice but nutritious shakes and a fiber sweep and one healthy meal a day for 3 days! I do it periodically and it’s great! You can omit coffee for 3 days…I’m right there with ya on the one! Good luck!

  10. I am definitely a morning person- up at 5:15 most days (sometimes I sleep in until 6-6:30 on the weekends)! I love being up early to pray, read my devotions, and head out to CrossFit before coming home to start my workday. Since my husband and I work together at home on our business, I am also able to usually grab a 30 minute nap in the early afternoon to keep me going until bedtime (8-9ish).

  11. I use to be a morning person due to leaving for the office at 4:15 a.m. Since retiring at the beginning of 2012 I have become more of a night person. With that being said, I do like to get up before Larry and the dogs so that I can have my morning devotional time while it is still quiet. Since our monthly income has been dramatically reduced, I won’t be buying any clothes unless it is a necessity.

    Have a blessed day!

  12. I’m not a morning person. I wish I were. It’s been another wonderful year of following your blog and I look forward to following in 2017.
I love your clothing ideas and I have fun finding them within my budget. An example would be the cold shoulder top, I found one like it at The Limited in a berry color that I love.
Thanks for your great style ideas,
    Jill

  13. I am not a morning person, I have to be at work at 8 and truthfully I don’t wake up until about 9. I am just dozey. I often talk to God as I move through the house and drive to work, I hope I’m not moving my lips! We do a devotional at supper which works for us. PS. I was at a Monat hair party last night!

  14. Hi, love your posts! Your outfits are always so cute, yet appropriate for those of us who aren’t “youngsters” any more. I would like to know what juice cleanse you ordered. It sounds like a good way to start better eating habits for the new year.

  15. If you feel like you need a good hormone reset I highly recommend the Whole 30 program! It looks difficult but it’s really not…and you can still drink coffee! It cuts out a lot of the foods we eat that are known to irritate our guts and gives you a nice reset. I highly recommend! http://www.whole30.com. Happy New Year Cindy!

  16. I am definitely a morning person. I am so much more productive before 3 p.m. Due to family being in town, we have stayed up late playing card games and I haven’t gone to bed before midnight for 3 days. Now my body clock is off for sure! But I wouldn’t trade the fun with family for anything!

Love all the looks on you!

  17. I’ve always wished I were a morning person, but I’m not. It is only with perseverance and determination that I get up early. Ha! I’ve heard people say it’s what you get used to, but after teaching now for 37 years, I can still say I have to make myself get up! But at night I get a “second wind” and can keep on going – but can be sorry I stayed up so late in the mornings!

I agree with the reader who wrote she’d like to see clothes from various stores and with lower prices when possible. I know you do this sometimes, and it is appreciated!

  18. I am also a morning person and have been for a long time😀 After the puppy is taken care of, I read my devotional and prepare for the day. Just seems wrong if I don’t get to do my routine.

  19. I am a morning person waking at 4. I pray and meditate. My day seems to go better. I feel guilty while reading your post about removing toxins because I am eating an apple fritter and drinking a cup of coffee while sitting on the patio feeling a cool front coming in after a week of temperature being in the 80’s. It is nice. I will begin eating healthier soon. Happy New Year!

  20. I am definitely a morning person. On a typical weekday, I get up at 4:30 and go to the gym with my husband. Getting up that early allows a workout and some prayer and mediation time. A friend gave me the book, Jesus is Calling, years ago and I read it daily along with my daily prayers. Fantastic book. This time keeps me sane and focused on what life truly about. I love your posts and look forward to following you another year. Work outfit ideas are always appreciated. Also, I would love to see you branch out to show clothes from other stores, maybe with a little more reasonable prices than Nordstoms. Love their clothes, but always just a little more than I like to spend. I will be cleaning up my eating habits and getting back to the work routine next week, I am presently at deer camp and the food here is always fattening and delicious. Thank you for your wonderful blog and Happy New Year!

  21. Actually I am a morning and a night person. I just don’t really like to sleep. haha There are so many things I want to do…read, write, pinterest, organize, clean, watch Hallmark movies, etc. I just don’t like to sleep. Which time do I function better?? Probably in the mornings! I love to get up early and start by reading my Bible and have my quiet time and writing my blog. Then on days I don’t have to be at work, I love it when my washer, dryer and dishwasher are going at the same time and I am cleaning something else! It feels good to be multi-tasking. I like to at least have my house picked up and ready to start the day by 8 or 8:30. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t! As the new year begins, so do my goals of improving – in all areas. I’m with you…it’s time to do a cleanse both in body, mind, soul and house!! Happy New Year!

  22. Morning person I love to get up before the chickens (as my granny wold say)☺ and curl up in my chair with a cup of coffee and watch the sun rise. I write in my journal reflect on a bible verse that has come to me that morning, and just enjoy the still. Happy New Year Stella
