Striped Top and Fringe Scarf

Winter has arrived in Kentucky! It was snowing and windy (of course!) when we took these pictures. I’m not going to lie, we took them pretty quick because I’m a baby when it comes to cold weather. Haha!

Thankfully, I’m wearing a warm striped top (it feels more like a light sweater) and fringe scarf. Both of these are great basic pieces that can be worn so many different ways. I love to have clothes like this in my wardrobe.

Fashion blogger, Cyndi Spivey, styling a striped top and fringe scarf. The striped top is super soft. It has a round neck and a straight hemline. You could wear a chambray shirt under this top or a leopard print scarf would look cute too.

Are you getting snow where you live?

Thank you for taking time out of your day to stop by my blog. If you don’t want to miss a post, you can sign up to receive my daily emails and you’ll never miss a thing. I’m also on FacebookPinterest and my favorite one, Instagram.

Beauty for the Heart~~I’m always amazed how my devotions seem to speak right to my need. Today I read Joshua 5.  Joshua is the new leader of Israel and he is facing an insurmountable situation.

Lysa Teurkerst writes this, “I am reminded of what I need in the face of my own seemingly insurmountable situations: I need to worry less and worship more …

When I’m desperate for God to give me all of the details …

When I’m wishing He would give me even the tiniest peek at His plans …

When I’m starting to wonder if He’s for me or if He’s against me …

I need to pause, lift my eyes to the One willing to meet me in the midst of my fears and worship Him. Worshiping not only because it honors Him, but because it changes me.

Worship may not be the first thing that comes to mind when we feel overwhelmed, but it truly is powerful. It reminds our trembling hearts and shaky knees that our God is mighty, our God is loving, and our God is a more than able.

It both quiets us and strengthens us – perfectly preparing our hearts and minds for whatever battles lie ahead.”

I don’t know what battle you have ahead of you today but instead of spending your time worrying, worship the ONE who is worthy and is ready to fight your battles.

Have a blessed day!

  1. What a great outfit! Thank you so much for your blog. I look forward to seeing your style and reading your words every day. I really appreciate your stylish looks and affordable fashions.

  2. “When I’m desperate for Him to give me the details”….I can so relate!

FYI I the background scenery in your photos is always great

  3. Ok this outfit is a perfect example of how a woman can look incredibly sexy fully clothed in layers. Love this look and those boots, wow! I would love to be three inches taller to wear boots like the ones you are wearing. It’s tough for a short woman to pull off.

You look incredible. A great outfit and accessories.

  4. Just what I needed to hear today, thank you, Cyndi!
And I love this outfit! I’m definitely going to be trying this look!

  5. Snow heading our way! We are in central Mississippi and very cold today & icy. Love striped tops – I am narrow shouldered so love the way they make the shoulders look wider. I am petite pear shaped. Lately I have been into wearing slim boot cut jeans with the short striped peplum top (like you have too) with taller heel boots to make the leg line long. You are right……….run get hot chocolate! Brrrr.

  6. I love the look.In NC and snow is headed our way. I so needed to read your post today. I have a friend that was injured by someone else’s hand and is now paralyzed from the neck down and I have felt helpless. I hope you don’t mind but I’m going to share with them. Have a blessed day.

  7. Cyndi, thank you for being so faithful with your blog. You look great in all your outfits. Can you believe we are going to the mountains, The Sierras, on purpose and it is to snow most of the time. I am trying to pack sensibly. Your outfits and and Beauty for the Heart will be my inspiration. I think hot cocoa is the thing.

  8. Wish I could wear striped tops, but since my girls are large, stripes just make me look like I have a big shelf. Not a look I want! Looks great on you!

  9. Thanks as usual Cyndi. Love your outfit featured and the devotional was just what I needed to hear and I am going to share it with my bible study ladies on Tues. if you don’t mind. This week we all came back to bible study after the holiday break and instead of Happy New Year, many of the ladies were struggling and needing to see God in their 2017. Looking forward to sharing your devotional with them next week. I appreciate how” Sisters in Christ” can minister to each other, even though many miles separate us. Keep following your heart and ministering to the ladies through your fashion and devotions. Blessings to you today. PS I live in Oregon and we rarely get snow and if we do, its a short event. We are suppose to get some tomorrow through Sunday and I’m so excited. 🙂 Its the 3rd time already this year which is rare. I just love how it slows things down a little and I feel I can relax and live in the moment and enjoy the beauty of one of God’s creations. 🙂

  10. LOVE this outfit! LOTS of snow here in Calgary (Canada). It started snowing again last night and is expected to snow all day today. I have some similar pieces to this, so I am going to try and recreate from my closet. Wish me luck! Haahaa
Happy New Year Cyndi and stay warm. 🙂

  11. I like the look! How are the cuffs attached to the top of the shirt? Is an over-top zig-zag stitch or a more refined one?
I’m looking for something to wear to work and I think they way some cuffs are attached is just too casual for me.
    Thanks!

  12. Super cute and I love how the solid cuffs, neck and bottom make it appeared as layered. As soon as I saw these pics I became a nervous wreck thinking, “I hope she doesn’t slip and fall wearing those boots in the snow”…be careful. No broken bones needed to start the new year. Stay warm!!!

  13. Beautiful! Love everything about your blog today friend! We woke up to snow also! It’s pretty but it can go now. 😎

  14. This is one of my favorite outfits you have posted! I am in love with those OTK boots on you and I adore striped tops. Love the leopard clutch. I am just starting to embrace leopard prints, thanks to you and Jo-Lynne and bought a pair of leopard print pumps recently.

  15. Thank you for your devotional! I needed this today. I’m loving the stripes, grey and camel combo. God bless!! 🙂

  16. Super cute look! I am all about the striped tops!
It is supposed to snow tonight here near Charlotte, NC. People are going bonkers! *Buy all the milk & bread!* I, too, am ready for springtime!!

    1. Heidi, Joe’s jeans are designer jeans and I will wear these for years. I do sometimes spend more money on basic pieces that I wear often.
      Have a wonderful weekend,
      Cyndi

  17. Thank you for the practical styling. Your choices look great without breaking the bank. Most of all I appreciate your encouragement through spiritual truth.

  18. I love this devo! I love listening to one of the songs my sons missionary group sang in Zambia-Yesu Unamanda-a capella…it warms my heart and soul-Jesus you are worthy, you are worthy, you are worthy. If you haven’t heard it-try finding it on youtube. I love to have it playing all day in the background while teaching. Bless and be blessed!

  19. Beautiful scenery, and yes, it is starting to snow in Knoxville as of this morning. LOVE this outfit! I’m too short to pull off the boots but they look great on you.

  20. I love this look. Thank you for sharing a beautiful word of truth, to worship God and praise him when we are in the midst of the battle. So very truth as He changes our mindset.

  21. Your Beauty for the Heart was spot on today. I have found that turning our problems over to God does not remove our responsibilities but rather acknowledges that He is in control and relieves some of our worry. Today I will worship more and worry less. Thanks, Cyndi.

  22. When I first started blogging, I didn’t understand the striped top love. But I have to admit, that once I bought one, I want to wear it with everything. I think I love it so much because it’s a little more interesting than a solid top, yet it can mix with everything!!
And I think the OTK boots actually keep me warmer than my riding boots!!
Great look Cyndi, and keep warm!
