How To Rock The Athleisure Look

In case you haven’t heard about the athleisure look, I wanted to share it with you today. What is “Athleisure”? It’s fashionable active wear: looking good in activewear whether you’re working out or wearing it casually around town.

Athleisure wear is one of those fashion trends that has lasted much longer than expected but since exercising is so good for us and women want to look good whether they’re working out or running errands, I think Athleisure wear is going to be around for quite a while.

Jo-Lynne and I will be styling an Athleisure look during our casual outfit formulas for Moms series. So you’ll see how we would wear this look.

What do you think of the Athleisure look?

Thank you for taking time out of your day to stop by my blog. If you don’t want to miss a post, you can sign up to receive my daily emails and you’ll never miss a thing. I’m also on FacebookPinterest and my favorite one, Instagram.

Beauty for the Heart~~This is a good reminder for me and I’m sure some of you can use it too. Proverbs 14:30a (NLT) says, A peaceful heart leads to a healthy body;

Peace in our lives is healthy. We can’t have it all the time and stressful situations always arise but lets give our stress to the Lord. He can handle it much better than we can.

Have a blessed day!

  1. Oh Cyndi, I’m so very sorry about Courtney. As a mom, I know there’s nothing more difficult than when our children are sick or hurting. I will be praying for her peace and health, and also for you, as I know this is taking a tremendous toll on you as well. Hugs!!

  2. Praying for the Spivey family today !!!! As a Mom and Grandmother of kids who lost a child to miscarriage as well, my heart joins with yours to ask our Heavenly Father to bring comfort, healing, strength, and peace during these days. Thanks for your openness with us all ,Cyndi , even when it’s tough!!

    Hugs and prayers !!!

  3. I’m so sorry for your precious family my heart hurts for y’all. The Lord knows all about it and I pray He brings peace and comfort to your hurting hearts. God bless all of y’all.

  4. I just read about Courtney. My heart breaks thinking that she had to go through two painful and heartbreaking experiences. My prayers are with both Courtney and your entire family. May God continue to heal and protect her.

  5. Thank you for what you do, and for keeping it real…. I believe wholeheartedly that when we share our struggles that others are encouraged (infused with courage) and the weary heads are lifted to KEEP GETTING BACK UP! When Jesus said that in this world we will have troubles then that means all of us… so it’s frustrating when some of us think it’s better to walk around acting like nothing is ever wrong in our lives… I for one am done with that! Keep it Real is my motto, and Keep getting back up when I’m knocked down…. learning to walk in Grace (& Beauty) and with Joy in the midst of these troubles and trials, now that’s what I can call Beautiful and Encouraging!!
I treasure this group of women because that is what I see happening around here! Thank you all so much for your Grace and your Beauty… For your prayers for each other when prayer requests are asked for and for all the sweet sweet encouragement that is scattered throughout! Lifting up your family Cyndi and Praising the Lord that Courtney’s melanoma was found quickly… and for her heart at her loss.

    1. Thank You, Joni !!!! This is EXACTLY why I continue to faithfully read Cyndi’s wonderful Grace & Beauty email/blog. We are a family of sisters in Christ who can depend on Jesus and one another !!!! I LOVE it that we can share from all across this great country of ours !!! AND praying for you, Cyndi, your family and especially Courtney !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Blessings to all of you ladies !!!

      Rochelle

  6. So glad Courtney found the melanoma when she did. Early detection is the key to cancer. We all need to be Vigilant of screenings such as Pap smears, mammograms, colonoscopy at 50, skin checks to detect cancer, and always listen to our bodies. (From me an ovarian cancer survivor 1986 and now breast cancer 2016)
I’m so sad for her miscarriage. Hugs and prayers for future blessings!

  7. So happy you caught that when you did, praying for you and your family during this difficult time. My daughter-in-law and my son also lost their first child to a miscarriage. It’s such a stressful time so I feel for all of you. God is faithful always.

The looks you’re showing today are super cute and comfy. I’m always up for comfort.

  8. So very sorry for the late response and I know this must have been a diffcult time for your family. I had a feeling it must have been Country you were praying hard for during this time. I too have a daughter who is twenty and when she hurts, I do too. Not a day goes by that I don’t worry about her and pray for her safety, health and happiness. Btw… she lives in athletic wear and loves Lululemon! She wears leggings to college almost everyday and has found a way to dress them up on the weekends. I think it’s also starting to catch on with her 55 year old mom 🙂 Thanks again for sharing your heart and your family with us.

  9. I must admit that I was doing advance prayers for the source of your feelings of stress. I have to also admit that I just absolutely hate the word cancer. it has claimed so many of my loved ones and another one is having a major struggle with it and has had 2 other totally unrelated bouts with the monstrous disease.
I have resigned myself to not being a candidate for this particular fashion. not having the results hoped for with reshaping the body even with strict dietary changes so…
Love the blog for the other examples and like seeing runway fashions and bringing them to fit ones reality these also help to shape the wardrobe into something better as the budget allows. THANK YOU
Still praying for Courtney and the rest of the family as you deal with this challenge. love to all.

  10. Thank you to you and Courtney for sharing! It’s so easy to focus on one’s own problems that we forget everyone is dealing with some “struggle” of their own. Glad that the cancer was nothing more and that she continues to be healthy after the miscarriage. Regarding Athleisure…my almost teenager wears nothing but!!! Have a good weekend!

  11. Dear Cyndi,
I am sad to hear about your daughter and I know how hard this can be, I have been there, but God will bless her with a healthy baby. I shared this time in my life with a friend who lost her baby two week before we lost our third baby. God blessed us a year later with our youngest. God’s timing is everything!

This morning during my devotional, I will lift you and your family up in my prayers. Today’s verse and messages are:
    You’re Something Special
Nothing…in the whole world will ever be able to separate us from the love of God Romans 8:39

    Look at the Son
Let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the auther and finisher of our faith
    Hebrews 12:1-2

    Prayers and Hugs from MN

  12. Thanks for reminding us of the real life you have!
It takes courage to share your personal struggles but in sharing it makes the load hopefully easier .
When times get tough, we trust in our Lord and let allow him to take over.
Many blessings to you and your daughter. Take comfort in each other’s arms.

  13. You are right, we all have struggles that we deal with. I cannot imagine trying to deal with struggles without our God! I turn to him every single day praying for various.reasons. I don’t think I could make it without him. Prayers for your daughter and your family!

  14. Sharing your life and heart is a blessing to so many. Prayers for strength and recovery.
I have lived in this look before it was trendy! Fits my days and lifestyle so well!

  15. I am very sorry for your loss. Losing a child at any age is painful and it doesn’t fully go away. I pray your family finds peace in the future and hope for better days.

  16. Thank you & Courtenay fir sharing. I knew something must be very wrong for you to not engage on your blog. My prayers are with you and your family.
Personally, I think black leggings belong in the gym. Having said that, all these young, slim girls look cute in their comfy clothes. I do like the black Nikes.

  17. I’m so sorry for all yall have been going through and so thankful that you trust in a mighty loving God who cares so much for his children! Continue to lean on Him!

As to the fashion question…in my opinion, I think this style only looks ok on young women, or very fit older women. It would not be at all cute on me! (age 50, 15 pounds overweight!) You could wear it for sure! But not many women can.

  18. Prayers for your precious daughter. My husband was recently diagnosed with Basal Cell Carcinoma on his face and had a 5 hour surgery and reconstruction. I am thankful she is ok(: On a lighter note, I am loving these casual looks and plan to try the black joggers with the denim vest. Cute!

  19. Cyndi, I will pray for your daughter and you. I have a daughter too and I fully know what you mean by the deep hurting we feel for our precious children. At times like these I love the Psalms. Specifically Ps 91:4

Thank you for sharing not only the fashion info ( I really need and use!) but also your life!
Aren’t we blessed we know our Lord!! Julie L, GA

  20. I have had your daughter on my mind and in my heart ever since you mentioned being stressed and that you hadn’t gotten “her” permission to share about it yet. I just felt it must be your daughter. Love and prayers for you both.

  21. Prayers. My daughter had two miscarriages before having a precious son who is now 11. It was a sad time but she got through it. But to be diagnosed with melanoma on top of that is really hard. So glad it turned out alright. Bless you for sharing with us, Cyndi.

  22. Thank you Cyndi and Courtney for allowing us to pray for you and your families through your pain and hardship. God is our anchor and it’s a blessing to uphold and encourage our Sisters-in-Christ. I’m thankful her doctor caught the cancer early and no further treatment is needed. Hugging you in my heart.

  23. I can’t wait to see your pictures of the athleisure wear. I love the way it looks, but I’m way too self conscience to wear leggings. I’m curious to see how I might could wear this. Thank you for sharing about your daughter. Miscarriage is hard. Cancer is hard. Thank the Lord that He is our soft spot to lay on when our hearts are heavy. Praying for your daughter and you during this difficult time.

  24. Very sorry for all you have been going through. Thank Courtney for sharing with your followers. May God bless and heal the broken hearts and restore health.
At this very moment, I am waiting for the results from several skin biopsies. I am trusting the Lord in all things.

The athleisure certainly is a strong presence these days. My 2cents (and that’s all it’s worth (>:) some of the clothing
has limits on where it seems appropriate to be worn. Also, leggings or spandex that is worn to the gym, to me, does not qualify as pants…outside the gym…one’s bottom should be covered by a long top. That being said…isn’t it great that we have the freedom of “style”? We are all wonderfully and uniquely made by an almighty God. PTL!

  25. As a mom – yes – we always hurt when our children or grandchildren hurt. Sometimes I think more so. You had barely gotten the words miscarriage out and I was already crying when I was reading your story. Thank you so much (and to Courtney too) for being willing to share your struggles with us. As others have commented, we all tend to look at other peoples lives and think they are perfect they have no problems. Deep down I think we know that’s not true but sometimes it just appears that way to us because all we “see” are the good times and perfect times. Thank you for being an example of how we should ALL have faith and trust in God and understand none of us are perfect – which is why we need Jesus so much more. We are perfected through His sacrifice and love.

Keeping you and your family in our prayers.

    God Bless You!

  26. 5 years ago my daughter had a miscarriage too, followed the next month by another. Fast forward a few weeks (doctor did not follow her levels back to normal and she actually had a tubal pregnancy and her tube ruptured – thus emergency surgery). Biopsy following surgery revealed that my beautiful daughter had choriocacinoma. Talk about a Mom’s nightmare! God was faithful throughout that cancer treatment and taught us all very much. Matthew West’s song “Strong Enough” was especially powerful for me during that time. Fast forward another year and she found herself pregnant again and now has a beautiful daughter herself! God is good and God is faithful – that doesn’t mean it is easy for us Mommas!
Now, 5 years after her initial miscarriage and cancer diagnosis, her young husband of 32 (every mothers dream of a son-in-law) is facing testicular cancer. He has just begun treatment. Prognosis is good and we are blessed to live near wonderful medical facilities and doctors. However, a Momma’s heart could about break in two!
My daughter and her husband have an amazing faith and God has been so very real on this journey. All this to say, God has a plan (I know you know that). I pray you will all be stronger and have a faithful story to tell some day because of this journey. Prayers and hugs to you all.
AND because I know you ready these, please pray for my daughter, Becky and her dear, sweet husband Daryn.
    Best to you!
    Lisa

  27. Cyndi, I’m so sorry to hear of your loss. I prayed for you and Courtney to trust in God’s plan and that He would give you peace through this trying time, as only He can do. I always tell my girls that we may not always understand it, but what God has planned for us is so much greater than anything we can dream up on our own.

I love the Athleisure look! I work from home so I dress like this often, but I would love to make the look more fashionable. I’m sure my husband would appreciate that also. 🙂

  28. Prayers to you and your family! I love the athleisure wear. I think I have been wearing this style way before it became trendy! So cute and comfy!

  29. Thanks for sharing. Prayers are coming your way from here in Utah. God absolutely has a plan for us and watches over us.

  30. God’s plan for everything is the Best one. He is loving, kind, and Yes ! Faithful. Please, Thank Courtney for sharing. I will be praying for her.

  31. Prayers for healing for Courtney, you and the rest of your family. A tough time for you all. Life is, indeed, fragile. Thank you for sharing what’s happened. On the athleisure look, I think it’s fine and fun occasionally — but for me personally, not as a daily or frequent thing.

  32. I’m so sorry to hear about your daughter. Just today I had my stitches removed from the surgery I had to remove my melanoma. Also found early and no further treatment needed but it’s always an eye opener when faced with health issues. I will be keeping you all in my prayers!

  33. Praying for your family, Cydni as you all heal from your daughter’s miscarriage, while at the same time giving Glory to God for catching Courtney’s melanoma early! You are so right when “real life” impacts our children, it’s a whole different ballgame than when it impacts us. Which is why I LOVE your blog so much. Your blog is such a fun distraction to the heaviness we may sometimes feel when life gets “real”. I look forward to Grace and Beauty each day as a tiny escape. It is also uplifting, fun, informational and appreciated!! Much love to you and your family

  34. My heart broke over your daughter’s miscarriage, but I’m SO happy to hear the melanoma was caught in time. That’s very scary.
I love the athleisure trend and actually consider it classic. I run, but never look THAT good on the trail preferring to spend my money on good shoes. Oh well.

  35. Hello Cyndi..I will pray for your daughter, and ask God to heal her, and wrap her in His arms. I am so glad to hear that her mole was caught early. It is a difficult time when a woman suffers a miscarriage. I know God will bless her with children in His time. You need to have many, many grandchildren. Colton cant be the only one to be spoiled :).
God Bless you and your beautiful family.

  36. Oh Cyndi, instant tears and goosebumps upon reading your blog and the recent turn of events. It’s true that when we read your posts and see the lovely pictures, it is easy to get caught up in thinking your life is perfect; although you certainly do nothing to project that. I think we all tend to do that to ourselves, think everyone else’s life is praches and cream. Thank you for sharing. I first realized his when I listened to your Mothers Day ‘sermon’ from 2016 and learned of your divorce and remarriage struggles. Thank you for showing your human side and reminding us of the presence of God in our lives and in our world. Prayers are with Courtney, you, your family and the family of readers always.

  37. Dear Cyndi
I have been reading your blog since you started and this is my first time commenting. The old saying, “You Never Know What Others Have to Endure” is so very true.
My deepest condolences and prayers for your daughter, you and your family. I am deeply sorry.

  38. I love the athleisure wear look because it’s comfortable and cute and works great for me, a stay at home mom!
Thank you also for being real with all of us and sharing what’s going on in your life! Prayers for all of you!

  39. Oh Cyndi…..thank you for sharing your life struggles with us and giving us the opportunity to pray for you and Courtney. I’m so sorry for the pain Courtney and your family have been going through and I’m thankful that the melanoma was caught early. I’m sorry for the lose of her pregnancy. I had 2 miscarriages between my 2 girls and at the time you don’t understand. A Christian friend said to me that a miscarriage is God’s way of knowing something isn’t right and he lovingly is taking care of it and will someday give me another pregnancy with a beautiful baby. That helped me. She was right. I can’t imagine life without my 2nd daughter who is such a blessings. She’s compassionate and caring and is a nurse taking care of others. I will continue to pray for Courtney in her healing process. I also will continue to keep you in my prayers, as I know as a mama, nothing can hurt us more than when our kids hurt. Thanks again for sharing. As for the athleisure, I haven’t heard of that word before, but its exactly the style my daughter who I shared about above is. She’s the happiest in her NIKE tennishoes and outfits. She just got married in Aug. and married a guy who works for NIKE and so she is always decked out in the latest. In fact, she wore white NIKE tennishoes with a gold swish in her wedding, with “I Do” and her their wedding date on the back of the shoes. I think this style will be around for a long time. I, however, am not a tennishoe person and like to be more dressed and love shoes and different shoes. Thanks for sharing this post and I’m anxious to see you and Jo-Lynne share your outfits of athleisure soon. Bless you and your family.

  40. Thank you for sharing with us, Cyndi. As a Mom, I do understand exactly what you mean about worrying and wishing these things were happening to us instead. I’ll keep you and Courtney in my prayers.

  41. Thanks for sharing, Cyndi. I’m praying for your daughter and the rest of your family. It really is hard when it’s our kids or grandkids instead of us. Peace to you all.

  42. What a stressful time for you and your daughter. Take it easy, take care of yourself and pray. There is more to being ok than being told everything is ok. Prayers, connection and love can let the healing continue. Blessings!

  43. Thank you for sharing your story. I’m thankful your daughter is going to be ok. I have a 19 year old daughter and 21 year old son and I feel the same. Prayers for you and your family! 🙏🏻

I love the look you featured today and can’t wait to see you model the “Athleisure” look. It’s so comfortable!

I hope you have a great Thursday!

    Patricia

  44. Behind all the happy pictures real life is hard. Thank you for shining your joyful light and for being honest. Prayers and hugs for your Courtney and you as well! -Beth

  45. Keeping you, your daughter and all in my prayers Cyndi! As I’ve learned many times, God’s plans aren’t always our plans because he loves us so much. Glad to hear the diagnosis is positive for Courtney!
As for the athleisure wear…I’m on the fence, but I do love to be comfy so there’s a good chance I’m in :).

  46. Cyndi, I will keep your daughter, you, and the family in my prayers! Praise God she had the mole checked out sooner than later, and they feel they got it all. I too, have bad moles; had six frozen & a biopsy done on one spot on Tuesday, but I’ve never had a melanoma.
While I like the atheleisure wear, I don’t like to see a woman’s backside uncovered.

    God bless!

  47. Cyndi,

I’m so sorry about your daughter’s recent struggles. And, I agree that it is so much harder when it’s our children rather than ourselves. Your sweet family is in my prayers.

    Blessings,
    Brandye

  48. Cyndi, I am so Rory to hear about your daughters miscarriage and hear cancer diagnosis. Praying for peace, comfort and strength in the days ahead.

  49. Hi Cyndi, I just discovered your blog a couple of days ago. Im enjoying the combination of faith and fashion!
Have you done a segment about formal or semi-formal wear? I could really use that right now. I’m fashion challenged and my daughter is getting married this year.
    Liz

  50. I am so sorry for the heartbreak for your daughter and your family. It hurts to see our babies hurting and know we can’t do anything to make it better. Thank goodness no further treatment is needed for the melanoma. My daughter lost a baby last year. It is such a heartbreaking thing to happen. But next week she will be giving birth to a beautiful baby girl. We are so thankful for this little blessing to be coming to our family. Tell Courtney it will happen.

  51. My prayers are with you and your family. I can relate I too had a miscarriage back in 1996.she has been our angel ever. Since then. One year later I gave birth again. She is almost twenty years old. She is the best. Bless you. Thanks again for sharing you and family. You are the greatest. Looking for tomorrow passage and verse.

  52. Sending continued prayers for healing. Thank you for sharing your real life struggles with the rest of us. We all have challenges that tear at our hearts and I also believe it’s harder to take when it’s your child. But, God is Good, and will always be for us.
Thanks for the post for the Athletic wear. I follow Putting Me Together, and I took Audrey’s advice and purchased the Nike Tanjun’s. I can testify that they are the most comfortable athletic shoe that I’ve worn ever! I can wear them all day running errands, babysitting my 2 toddling grandchildren, and my feet feel great and energized! Great Purchase and I highly recommend them!

  53. Thank you for reminding us that we are all human and no one has a perfect life. Remember God has you and your family in the palm of his hand. Thank you for your blog. God bless you and your family.

  54. Cyndi,

Just want to let you know that prayers are being lifted for your daughter as well as you. I was so sorry to hear about the struggles and heartbreaks going on in you and your family’s life. I will continue my prayers.

On the leisure style, I am one of those women that don’t wear tennis shoes “my rides” out to the stores or errands. Only if I am going to workout or sightseeing where I need to be in shoes for more than 4 hours. It’s just not my thing. LOL

  55. Hi Cyndi,
Your message hit home for me today. My daughter also found out around Thanksgiving that she was expecting. Right after the new year she also mescarried. I’m so sorry to hear this about your daughter as well. It is very difficult as moms to see our children hurting. Prayers to you.

  56. Sending prayers for Courtney and big hugs to you both. As a Mom I know the feeling when bad things happen to your child.

  57. My prayers go out to you and your daughter. I too have had miscarriages and know the pain. God has a plan and am so glad they caught Courtney’s melanoma early. Everything happens for a reason and we know God is in control. Thank you for sharing all your scriptures.
Love the Athleisure look. They make such cute things. May God continue to bless you.

    Prayers to all of you.

  58. Ps. I’m so sorry about her miscarriage.. I’ve never had to go through something like this but I’m sending you both all my regards, sympathy and praying to the Lord on your behalf and may God heal her and she can have a safe pregnancy and healthy baby soon. Love you sweeties… and thank o much for opening up to all us ladies so we can offer up our prayers to the Lord… Acts 4:32a “And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul:

  59. I’m so so sorry for all that you’ve had to go thru with your daughter. However so thankful the doctors caught the cancer. That truly is a blessing. Praying for you all during this time. Thank you for sharing the athleisure trend. I struggle with this one too. These ideas help.

  60. Good morning Cyndi
Thanks to you and your daughter for being brave enough to share the trials that y’all have been going through
I know you are both gripping his hem during these trying times and I will be remembering you both in prayer
Thank you for always keeping it real
It’s encouraging for all of us to see that you too have struggles just like the rest of us
    Best
    Becky

  61. Thank you for sharing, Cyndi. Life is fragile and a gift. So thankful that your daughter’s condition was caught early.

  62. Thank you for sharing with us. My prayers are going out to you and your family. I had a miscarriage with my first pregnancy. My heart was broken because I had waited so long for that first baby. I’ve been blessed with two healthy boys since then, but I always tell them they have an older sibling watching over them in heaven. I love your blog and admire you so much for your faith, love for your family and your strength. Thank you for being such an inspiration…in good times and during life’s challenges.

  63. I’m so sorry to hear about Courtney and I’m sure glad they caught it in time…. My mother wasn’t so lucky with her mole on her back. It was only 6 months starting in early October, after they found and tested the mole of Melanoma that it went on to her brain and we lost her in March of 1996. She would have been 60 that year, the year we made the decision to move to KY from Ohio, where my daddy and momma lived. I’ll be sure and pray for her and all of you guys!! And I love these Leisurewear…. Please let’s see you in your Leisurewear!! God Bless… continually.

  64. Praying for you and for Courtney and the whole family. You’re right….when your kids hurt (no matter the age) it rocks your world. I remember the hurt, anger and fear I felt when I lost a baby. I also remember the hurt, anger and fear I felt when my mom and sister were diagnosed with cancer. The only thing we can do is lean on God and at times, it just doesn’t feel like enough. But He knows we feel this way and I believe He squeezes us just a little more so that we can feel His presence even when we are angry and hurting. Thank you for sharing your heart so we can be praying with ours.

  65. Love the look! I work all wee in an office and love to be super comfy on the weekend when I have running around to do and soccer games to go to! 🙂
My thoughts are with your family at this time. Big Hugs for you and your daughter.

  66. Cyndi- I was so sorry to read about your daughter and her miscarriage this morning. That is heartbreaking. One of the horrible things I learned about melanoma (as a survivor of 7 years) is that it loves pregnant woman and grows faster during pregnancy. Thank goodness she caught it early and she’ll be cancer free when she’s ready to try again. Love to you both.

  67. Cyndi, I’m so grateful that Courtney is not going to require further treatment and that you found it early. I couldn’t agree with you more that seeing your children (no matter their age) hurting is one of the hardest things to deal with in life. What a blessing that you two are so close. I’ll look forward to the day when you tell us she is expecting again. I know a miscarriage is so disheartening. For a happy thought…those black Nike shoes…my daughter just sent me a pic of them last night wanting to order them. 🙂
Have a great day and thank you for sharing with us.

  68. I am so sorry Cyndi about your daughter’s miscarriage and mole scare but thankfully that turned out ok. I only have one daughter too & she & I are very close so understand how hard this has been for you. My Mom who is 92 had several moles cut off so Courtney is right to be using sunscreen & watching. I use sunscreen too and nowadays fake tan it in the summer or settle to be light. 🙂 Love the gym look on the young girls…….beautiful skin, hair, and no makeup and they still look ravishing! Me……..when my friends & I get together in College Hills here to walk…….it’s no makeup and early……go home & take a shower and then go do errands. We are a sweaty mess – ha!

  69. Hi Cyndi,

Thank you for opening up your personal life with us. My mother had this happen to her right before Christmas and we thank God that it was removed. Yes, us mother’s would do anything to take any kind of pain away from our babies. I will keep your precious Courtney in my prayers as well as your entire family. On the fashion note, I am looking forward to how you will rock this look coz girl………..I don’t think I can pull this one off. ~Lisa~

  70. Oh, Cyndi! Thank you for sharing! Prayers for Courtney! My 17 year old daughter had a mole on her scalp removed in June. It was one step before cancer. Thankfully, we had it checked when we did! Yes, it’s so hard when our babies are hurting. Thank you for being so sweet and Godly in your posts! I’m a Christian woman with still so much to learn about my daily walk with God. Blessings!

  71. Always love the styles that you share! Thank you for sharing your life with all of us as well – I know we will all lift your family up in prayer that He comforts you as only He can.

  72. So glad you shared with us, Cyndi. That’s thousands of women that will be joining in prayer for you and your daughter, many of whom, like me, have experienced the same thing.

  73. Cyndi, I am SO sorry about your daughter’s heartbreaking issues this year! My heart goes out to you as her Mom knowing how worried you are. Life is so hard sometimes & we have to keep our eyes on the Lord, knowing that one day we will have no more pain! Prayers for your family!

  74. Praying for you and your daughter, that God will guide you through your struggles and bless you greatly. Thanks for sharing.

  75. So glad that Courtney caught the melanoma early! So wonderful that you noticed it and encouraged her to go to the doctor…..early detection is so important. By you sharing this, others will be helped, I know! Thank you for this! I LOVE the Athleisure look! I am over 60, and have to say I have worn it for some time as I take yoga classes 2-3 times a week, and love the comfort of these clothes….comfortable but not frumpy! 🙂 I/m glad it’s now a style!!! Thanks for showing us these looks….

  76. Thinking of you Cindi. Praying for Courtney -healing and health. God is faithful through and through!

  77. Thank you for sharing your joys and your struggles. We all have them. I believe it helps us grow stronger in our faith. Praying for you all. I’m not sure about the athleisure look for me. I wait and see what you present in the future. Thanks and blessings.

  78. Cyndi, I follow you daily and though I’m not very fashion conscious, something about you rings true. I watched your Mother’s Day church service and realized what it is. You are like ocean glass that people collect… all shiny and pretty. The reality of your beauty is that you have allowed Christ to take the broken shards od your life and transform it into a thing of beauty. You’re authentic, you’re making a difference, and your willingness to share your weak spots, gives us hope. Just wanted you to know that you’re a Bright Beacon. Your husband makes me smile, too. I will keep you and yours before His Throne as you continue to serve The One Who Loves You Best.

  79. Good morning Cyndi,

So, so sorry to hear about Courtney – with her trust in God and our wonderful medicines and medical professionals she can get through this. Our family has had the same issue with our daughter – each time she has gotten pregnant melanoma has reared it’s ugly head. With her first she could no longer breastfeed because of the stress. She was induced early with their second so they could treat her melanoma aggressively. We just found out she is expecting again and I pray everyday that He is watching out for her, her little ones and her entire family. I will be praying for you and your entire family.

    God Bless,
    Cindy

  80. Thanks for sharing your heart, Cyndi. I will pray this morning for Courtney. It’s hard to see your children going through trials 😢.

  81. I have the hardest time with this look, Cyndi!
I know I’m old and old fashioned, but it seems like this “trend” is for the gym only??
Maybe I watched too much “What not to Wear” back in the day?
Although my step mom (the 60’s model on my blog) did buy a pair of sneakers that look like oxfords. I’m not sure they are exactly leisurewear since they look like a real shoe, but they certainly are comfy (she says)
